Default Tuesday October 8th

Just starting us up--back in a minute, I think my coffee is ready.

------------------------------------------->

Coffee is hot and strong this morning. we certainly need it! It's freezing cold out here, I can see my breath in the air. Today is drop in and some much needed running around time for Miree. Rosie will be penned in the kitchen (easier to clean messes). Dh is leaving tonight after supper for a 3 day business trip so I am home alone. Wonder what kind of mischeif I can get up to?

Ruth, glad to hear your hand is doing well

Welcome back Kat!

Dottie, I don't envy you the wallpaper reoval--hard, tedious work especially if the wallpaper is really stuck on the walls.

Sorry to hear about your AC troubles Deb, how about I just send down our weather?

Jenny, our fall colours have started and they are late for this time of year. What are the kids being for Halloween?

Janice, hope you had a nice visit!

L, your boy is such a sweetie pie!

Dyan, your dss is so cute too! Love the hat!

Leenie, so sorry to hear about your MIL, reallytough when your health isn't cooperating!

Jennifer, if I didn't say it before, congrats to Cody on his orange belt! What's he going to be for Halloween?

Linda--candling? What exactly is that? I've never heard of it before! I'm so glad your dd is home, have a wonderful visit!

to everyone I missed!

Good Morning! Just a quick one here, I'm going to have a couple x-rays done today.

Pooky did you decide which pic to use for Miree?

Giggles hi, been wanting to ask you if you still have the pics sent to you a while back? My fault, but a couple of the pics were my only copy, would really, really love to have them back. Thanks for checking!!

peachie, can we cry together!! "OUR" baseball season is over! DRATS!!

Need to run, I don't know how long this x-ray process will take, so better get on the road.

Have a good one all

Hi Pooky, Giggles and Debkay.

Darn milk is sour again today so I sure appreciate Pooky's good stuff. DH is a bit sour too but he'll get over it. Miss Lucy was outside early this a.m. and got wet paws. She came charging into the house, ran upstairs and woke up DH with licks and play nips and wet paws! I'm afraid I just laughed which did not add to his curdled mood!

I was in a bit of a downer yesterday after the darn blood tests. I am so sick of being prodded and probed to get blood! They should just put in a spigot and avoid all the agony and bruising. My veins go to the centre of my body when the needle approaches! I am also really anxious to get these stitches out on Thursday. Iw will be nice to be two-handed for a bit until the left wrist operation on the 23rd.

Today my pal Rob and I are going to get some chrysanthemums to plant at the Church. He will plant and I will supervise. This coming Saturday, we have another bunch of daffies to plant at the Church - Bob says 1000 but I imagine it's more. I'll be supervising that too and plying folks with coffee. We are lucky to have a group of folks who are willing to start this kind of job at 8 a.m. Folks commit to 2 hours and we are usually done by 10. I can't imagine how great the Church will look this spring! We are also going to do some Thanksgiving decorating this weekend as Canadian Thanksgiving is Monday.

Pook, our weather is cool but not cold this morning. I agree that the fall colours are late. I do have a lovely spot in one of the fencelines, however - burgundy Virginia Creeper intertwined with brilliant yellow grape vine. I will try to get a picture today if the light is right.

Debkay, the x-rays should not take long as there is much less of you now! Is this a routine procedure or did I miss something?

Whoops! Today is my baby boy's 39th birthday so I'd better phone him before he goes to work. I have no idea how it happened that he got to be so old.

Have a glorious fall day.

Talking Good Early Morning !!

What a wonderful cool morning in Houston! I am soooo ready for summer weather to come back next year and let us have FALL !!

Barb~How's your dad doing? Prayers and hugs going your way!

Ruth~WTG hooking that bra!

Leens~Home made apple pie?

Linda~I know your visit with your daughter will be wonderful! Candling your ears?

DebKay~Any word on the a/c repair? It's still too hot here in the south to be without cold air! Is young son breaking down and going to Florida? I vote for the guilt trip!

Gorgeous pictures of those children yesterday! I need some updated ones to share! Congrats to all you gorgeous moms with those gorgeous babies!!

to all those lurking or to come!

Wonderful news from the doctor yesterday. ALL my blood work was fantastic! Ok, ya'll know how my retention is, so, you'll have to help me out here. Regarding the insulin resistence results she said something about (17) being a borderline # for concern but mine is only (2) !! Boy did she get an ear full about low carb! She said just keep doing it! Other than that, I am now officially on HRT.

Today is lots of fly lady, laundry, grocery store, typing for dh.

Tomorrow is the meeting with the surgeon. I'm not as nervous as I was in the beginning. And I do feel better knowing that all my lab work came back healthy! lol

Well, need more coffee ~ be back shortly!

J

Hey, you guys snuck in on me! Deb ~ good luck with the X rays!
Ruth~I think I'd rather deal with curdled milk than dh's curdled mood! Hope it improves!

Hey, where is everybody today!!

MamaJ, glad the bloodwork was good. Keep us posted on the surgeon visit.

Ruth, I know what you mean about the veins hiding when they try to take blood.

And Ruth, you didn't miss anything, the x-rays are to make sure my lung area is okay. I'm getting pain where the two chest tubes were inserted. And they are xraying my................butt, I cannot sit for any period of time without my butt hurting, and I have a big knot back there. I know, more info than you wanted.

Good afternoon chickies! I thought I'd drop by for lunch. Leftovers anyone? I'm having a huge burger DH grilled Sunday.

What can you do with a leftover 9x13 pan of deviled eggs? I don't think they will freeze well. I wonder how long they'll stay good in the fridge? I made way too much food for the shindig. I guess I won't need to cook for a while.

I invited someone from the Journal section to join us, her old thread was being mean. Someone actually told her to stop whining in her journal. How rude is that?

I'm off to the Dr today. Nothing major just a sore throat I can't shake. I'm going to try and convince him to run some thyroid tests as my lymph nodes stay sore and tender.

Hey everyone! Well, another half day off work. Yesterday left at 3 to take dd to fair, let's not EVEN discuss that! We should have just stayed home and played Candyland. Today she has a temp. of 99.2 and the nurse sent her home from school. The Dr's office says "She's not really sick, are you sure you want her to be seen?" Well, for an excused absence, she's getting seen. Money out the door, waaaaaaahhhhhhhh!! Daddy troubles since Thursday night, anybody wanna send Guido down to bust some kneecaps??? I pay well!

Ya'll have a great day, I'm off to find some lunch. Check in later!

I'm supposed to be catching up on dh's proposals, etc.. Just got a phone call from police department! Seems ds (Michael)'s little prize truck got stolen from the school parking lot. It's been recovered (and abandoned) and suspect caught! Poor ds doesn't even know it yet! Boy, will he be in a mood tonight! sigh ~ s**t happens - think we could fertilize all of Texas for all that happens around here!

Better get typing!

For those who are interested, ear candling is a procedure whereby a hollow candle that is tapered on the bottom, is fitted into a person's ear as they are lying on their side. The candle is first pushed through a hole in an aluminum pie plate before putting the narrow end of the cylinder into the person's ear. The high end of the candle is then lit and as it burns down, the person in charge snips off the ash into the pie plate. The heat of the burning candle causes warmth and suction in the ear canal and finally, when the candle gets down to about 3 inches long the flame is put out and the candle is removed from the ear. After it cools, the attendant unrolls the hollow cylinder and besides some pale reside from the candle, there is all this wax that the warmth and suction have pulled out of the ear canal. It doesn't hurt.

Gee, Linda, do we have to do that when I come to visit? I'm scared! Any little bits of gray matter?

We just now got back from the doc's. Tommie must have a high tolerance for pain, as she has a double ear infection that she never complained of, and her tummy is tight as a drum. The doc says it's gas, it's gonna eventually come out on it's own. Anyone wanna babysit for the next few days?

Linda, that candling sounds really cool! I bet my ears have never been that clean. Where can one get this procedure done?

Ya'll have any idea how long to cook a 2 pound London Broil? What temp? I'm off to research so it doesn't get tough as shoe leather, as per usual around here! Have a great night!

Thumbs down Good Tuesday

Wow, the sun has FINALLY come out here. This morning it was so cool and foggy I just hated getting out of bed (of course I NEVER like to get out of bed in the morning...ugh). I have to say I had a very good day yesterday and today...so far so good. I just need to get through dinner. When I go home I plan to have only ONE WASA cracker with one wedge of Laughing Cow Cheese spread. Just a little snack while I make dinner. I am really hungry right now so I'm afraid I might say to **** with it and just go nuts. Also plan to go to Jazzercise even though my tendonitus is hurting. I will go nice and slow and not jump around too much. Other than that its been a nice uneventful day at work and I can't wait to go home...

Hope everyone is doing great and focusing on being nice and healthy.
