Oh, gosh! Here I thought the Psyllium in cranwater would HELP my constipation. I'm just not used to being so bound up in the mornings (no nothing is sacred in this forum.

) I just bought some of the Psyllium today and I've just finished making my cranwater. I have bought the flax seed oil and had some in my salad today. I've also started taking Evening Primrose Oil. I bought some whey powder for the morning fruit smoothie. I have still set the target date of Monday to start this Fat Flush Plan but I'm trying to ease myself into it gradually. I think one of the reasons I have trouble when starting a new weight loss plan is that I jump in head first and then reality strikes and I get discouraged. As I said before, I think the most difficult thing for me will be giving up salt. I've cut back a lot but still not to zero.
Meanwhile, I think what I'm following now could be called a modified Atkins fat fast...or is it fast fat? Whatever. Here's how my menus have looked so far today.
B:
4 bacon
2 eggs with 1 tsp cream cheese
S: (and this is gooooood)
1/2 avocado mashed up with 1 tbsp Hellman's mayo, 1 tbsp real cream cheese and 1 tbsp medium (or hot) salsa sprinkled with 1 tsp sunflower seeds and served with crispy pork rinds. I found I was nicely satisfied with just 6 pork rinds and this guacamole-like mixture. Very nummy.
L:
1 cup chicken salad with extra mayo, some celery & green onion, served with about 8 pork rinds. Side salad of mixed greens, a tiny bit of tomato, radishes, green onions and dressed with flaxseed oil and apple cider vinegar. To use up the dressing after eating the salad, I poured it over the chicken salad. Can't waste that expensive flax seed oil.
D:
Pork chop breaded with crushed pork rinds (those are handy little devils)
Mock mashed potatoes (made with cauliflower)
S:
small portion of L.C. Peach/Blueberry Ice cream (I made it myself)
I'm trying to increase my fat to about 75% of my daily calories while keeping calories in the 1,500-1,700 a day range. I want the carbs to be about 5%.
Tomorrow is WI so we will see if it has been working. Keep those fingers, toes, knees, elbows and (in the case of Ruth) boobs crossed for me.
OH, Samsgrandma, I'm so happy for you. You must have been posting the same time as me. Congratulations and don't worry about the knitting, crocheting thing. Most grandmas these days don't do that stuff and just try to spend quality time with their grandkids. They will love you whether or not you make them bootees and bonnets.
