Just finished the bedroom (well, all but remaking the bed but I have to wait for the sheets to finish in the machine).
Before I started the bedroom, I did the Richard Simmons "Getting Started" video. It's 30 minutes of extremely light aerobics for people who haven't exercised in a long time or have a large amount of weight to lose (both applies to me). I used to use that tape to stretch and relax my body before bed. I had to stop some of the exercises and just walk in place because I became to sore and winded. How embarrassing!
My next project (tomorrow) will be to tackle the Dinning Room. Which, as we don't usually have sit-down dinners, is another room that's been used for a "catch all" for quite some time.
Gotta go. DH is grumbling about lunch. Wants to know what I want him to make for us. Hmmm. Maybe I'll skip lunch and warm him up instead.
Would you believe that I came home from physical therapy, sat down in the computer chair and fell asleep! I guess it is the combo of BP mned, heart meds and a muscle relaxant. Oy vey!
The mail man knocking on the door woke me up and I almost fell out of the chair! According to the evaluation, my shoulder is getting better, but not as fast as I want it to!
Now I have to clean the kitchen a bit and get ready for a Board meeting at church. Tomorrow, DD Zoo and I are going to hit a few fabric stores. That should be a lot of fun! I made dinner for both today and tomorrow in the crockpots. Today is a chicken with rice and veggies and tomorrow is hamburger-onion soup with biscuits.
BTW, the temperatures here are in the 40's! Unbelieveable...!
Tomorrow may be even warmer!
I love this! All this low-carb enthusiasm sure helps with mine too.
I wish you could have all been here with me this morning. I was helping a friend move some things and I looked up and saw two Bald Eagles circling above the red cliffs. They were fairly low and just amazing to watch, just circling, flying close together. We have nesting Golden Eagles here and I have seen Bald Eagles too, but not two of them together putting on a show especially for me! It was so cool. If I'd had my digital camera with me I would share the photo with you, but I took it out of my car just before I left. Wouldn't you know!
I did my first Walk Away the Pound tape yesterday. Thanks for asking Jenny! I loved it! I did the one-mile tape and am about to go attempt the two-mile. I was surprised at how quickly it was done.
Ruth - I'm glad you and DH were able to behave yourselves and not pee all over your friends' rugs. And they say you can't teach an old dog new tricks! You know, Oxyclean would have take it out!
Hensa - I miss it when you don't post early! Good to see you, but we want more!
Peach - You should be scared, very scared!
Sooner and Jo - Don't make me come over there myself to get those damn decorations down! I mean it girls! *trying very hard to sound like your mothers at their sternest* Oh yeah - Jo, with all your, um, "activities", I'm getting a little afraid to call it hump day around here!
I don't have anymore time to post, but hope each and everyone of you has a wonderful OP day and/or evening.
That's OK, Chickadee. I couldn't tempt DH to burn a few calories with me this afternoon anyway. He spent most of the day surfing the net looking for work. OK. I suppose keeping money coming in so we don't lose the house is important, too.
I got my exercise in anyway (video tape & more decluttering).
I'm going to need some super strong duct tape to keep me on the wagon tomorrow. In a moment of weakness, I promised the kids I bake brownies while they were in school tomorrow. We are out of desserts so they are making due with freeze pops tonight. Yes, Jennifer really doesn't need dessert but I can't tell the girl no to everything. I cut those brownies very small and they only get one each per evening. One batch should last me at leat 6 days. My son Shane has already put in a request for my excellent chocolate-chip cookies when the brownies are gone.
I think before I start those brownies, I'll cut up some cheddar cheese and celery sticks, and pour a large glass of ice water to munch & sip on while I bake.
Gotta go. I'm taking Shane and my grandson, Casey, to Boy Scouts this evening.
A few minutes to do some catch up reading and a little posting.
Weather here in Houston is crazy -- freezing, then bone chilly and now 75 degrees! Geesh!
Not sleeping well and still fighting this stupid self imposed depression and self loathing. Totally unlike me and trying everything I can to shake it including alot of prayer for all the positives in my life. Having three friends/family members pass in the past 30 days has not helped and news of three more going thru serious cancer treatments, and one long time friend waiting for a heart transplant is not helping. Again, more prayer. Course there are still audits and 4 more court dates in the next 60 days that is lurking......awwww, so glad to be alive....the past 12 months has just been so stressful. But I truly and sincerely do not want to lose sight of the things I've been Blessed with. Sorry, don't mean to be a downer.
Today is OP day #4 and I know that flushing the carbs out will sure help my disposition a bit. Haven't done anything on the "E" department other than planning the gym visits after tax time, audits, etc..
Sure is great to see so much recommitment and motivation from you all! Keep it up---I'm sure it'll rub off on us sluggers soon!
Janice, I sure as heck can't say anything to make everything better, but I want you to know anytime I see that you've posted, I bust my butt to get there and read it. You're a wonderful person and I look forward to what you have to say!
You come here and vent anytime you want. We'll all be here to help pick up the pieces and help restore your sunny nature in any way we can, right chicks?
It's so nice to come home and have this great long read! I feel hopeful for the first time in a while! Another crazy day, but I am not as exhausted as Monday and Tuesday, I was literally aching all over from a lot of back and forth, traipsing around the hospital from wing to wing with various meetings, walk-thru's, and problems. It should settle down after this week.
Thanks Peach, about the Tylenol PM> I was up for almost 3 hours in the middle of the night last night, and have this problem once or twice a week. I have Ambien that I can take, but I never do, and you can't take it in the middle of the night anyhow. I may try the Tylenol PM and see if that keeps me asleep. It is really hard the next day, when I have to be out of the house before 8. I am exhausted tonight.
Annie- another German Lutheran here! (we grew up with taking our decorations down on Little Christmas!)
Hi Janice- hold on, it'll even out soon, and keeping the carbs on the low side, even if not perfect, really helps me. You are so resilient! It's nice to have you posting regularly!
Hi to everyone else- I think we all need a good night sleep, for our various illnesses and insomnia and Inductions. Early to bed!
That's you, Ruth.
Where's Linda BC?
Gosh, what a late bloomer tonight! Just watched Michael Jackson on TV and my mom summed it up. "He might be a freak, but he sure is a great entertainer!" Takes me back to my childhood
