haha.....okay ladies......so my hair color is naturally brown....i would say "mouse brown" .....and i have colored it every color in the book! Except for blonde. So here i sit in my bathroom with this color treatment on my hair (that new loreal sublime mousse which i think it sooo cool!) and im waiting to see how it will turn out......since my hair is brown it might not turn out to be as blonde as id like but im experimenting! Lol
so ladies my hair didnt turn out blonde....just a bit lighter.....so its brown with a honey tone to it.....it actually looks good and i like it......its a little lighter on top than it is on bottom......i wonder if i kept dying it blonde every so often if it would eventually lighten up??? Im not sure.......does anyone have any idea? I would post a pic of the new color but i dont know how to put a pic on here from my cell.
haha. i'm also a mouse-brown brunette, and i've gone every color but blonde too... i'm afraid to mess with colors with my wedding so close, but the hubby to be might find a blonde at home shortly after the wedding. i've wanted to try it for a while!
soooo girls i decided not only to dye my hair but i had it permed today! Its curly! Ive never really had it curly before and it looks so good! How do u guys add pics from a cell phone??
I've been a blonde since birth. I was born one, but it slowly changed into what my hairdresser mother called "dishwater blonde" (thanks for the hair, dad, lol)... anyways, its a dark blonde... but I highlight the heck out of it. It's generally light blonde with honey, carmel and bleach blonde highlights. I love being blonde. I generally go lighter in the summer and stay darker in the winter.
And if you are curious about being blonde, but don't want to fully commit, how about some highlights? They do wonders for brightening up peoples faces!
boxed color can only lift about 2 shades without going orange(without bleaching). So I'd say youre lucky that your hair isn't orange! I hope you like your perm, I bet it looks great
my natural color is dark blonde/light brown, but I get highlights and just love being blondeish. I only have to highlight every 3-4 months because they blend in so well, I have my hairdresser highlight fine strands

it's lighter at the root than the end because you've coloured the ends and it is much more difficult to life artificial pigment than real pigment. I'd suggest highlights as well but it's not a good idea now that you've gotten a perm.
Ciao- red is notoriously hard to keep in your hair. Make sure you are using a shampoo safe for colour treated hair, try washing it less, and use cooler water to wash.

This is off-topic, but your signature!! Amanjohnk!!
Back on topic however, as someone else said above I was born bright blonde and my hair faded over the years to dishwater blonde. If you like experimenting with colors and etc, go for it. Have fun with it.
I have darker brown hair and the only way I can really get a light caramel/blonde is to go to the hairdresser and have it done professionally. I tried with box dyes, but it only gets so light. I just splurged and got caramel highlights and it is very light and more on the blonde side and I'm so much happier with it than when I try to do it myself. The good thing is once you spend the money on full highlights you can go back and get your roots redone and spend less money than the first time because the bottom will mostly keep it's color.
Now that you've had a perm, I wouldn't recommend coloring it at home again. Keep the color to the professionals. I've seen a lot of accidents come in to the salon from trying to go lighter at home!
