I got a Velvet Touch thing ... it's kind of like sandpaper. I tried it for the first time on Wednesday. I'm pretty impressed. I'll try to remember to let you know how it goes.
Wax, It is a little bit painful, but you get used to it, and for me, my daughter-in-law is a hairdresser, so when I get my hair done, she throws in free waxing, so even thow I pay for my hair the waxings are all free. I can't beat that.
Hmmm, now that you got me thinking, maybe she likes to inflict pain on me??? Nahhh, she is a sweetheart, and we get along fine.
Electrolysis..
I used to have dark hair on my upper lip and not I do not get them anymore.. the ones on the chin are more stubborn. Electrolysis is expensive but now I am just used to it -- go there every 4-6 weeks.
I've used creams, but I currently wax. It's not one of my biggest problem areas, so I can get away with every other month or so. It's usually most noticable to me around PMS.
However, I'd love to have electrolysis on my eyebrows. They drive me crazy. I swear the day after I have them waxed they've grown back. And they're all crazy with stray hairs all over my eyes and lower forehead.
There's a electrolysis academy here in town that gives a discount is you let their students do your electrolysis. For an hour session it's only $25. That seems reasonable to me. I wonder how long it would take to do my crazy brows?
I thought Laser adn electrolysis was permament. I was thinking about having those done myself. Right noew, I dont do anything - I am afraid it will grow back hairier (is that a word? lol) Its not too noticable. I dont catch peolpe looking at my lip but I would like to take care of it. Thanks raw for asking this question!
Having had both, I would pick laser any day over electolysis. I have had probably a 90% permanent rate on my face. The permanent factor depends upon each individual and the are they are having done. For instance, my bikini line has never, ever grown back after two treatments. I have to go in for a touch up about every three months. The hair that does grow is much finer and softer than it ever was before.
i use one of those little hair trimmer things. it doesn't work very well- but i was tired of the chemical burns from depilatories.
would love laser - but i'm worried about the pain!
