Default Foundation

What brand do you like the most? I don't wear a lot of make-up, but I'm looking for a new foundation. I'm tired of Cover Girl. I use to wear Mac. What do you like?

I wear L'Oreal true match. It's hard for me to find foundation that has a shade pale enough for me. It offers good coverage.

I think Laura Mercier is the best. I especially like the Silk Creme. A bit expensive, but great products.

I like mineral foundation and go with Everyday Minerals. About 90% of my pimples cleared up after I started using it. Website is www.everydayminerals.com. Can order a free sample kit from them and just pay bout $4.00 in shipping.

I started out with Cover Girl as a teenager and over the years tried others...like L'oreal too, used it for a while and now I am back to my Cover Girl...just like it the best.

I don't wear make-up very often, but I have CG TruBlend and Bare Minerals. I still haven't watched the DVD instructions, so I think I put it on wrong. But it does make my skin look brighter and smoother (it doesn't cover pimples or blemishes -- you almost have to have good skin to begin with!) I like it. It's probably awesome (like everyone says) if I actually knew how to put it on right.

I don't wear foundation normally, but for special events or photographs I wear Bare Escentuals bareMinerals. I always hated liquid makeup and I love how this stuff feels.

2 of my all time favorites are from BE as well - their Multi Tasking Bisque as concealer and Well Rested as a neutral all over eye shadow/brightener. They are simply magical for my sleep-deprived life right now.

I've used Clinique foundation (not the liquid) and It works pretty well. Right now I am using Estee Lauder double wear. It's a liquid, but it looks great!

When I lived in Chicago several years ago, Elizabeth Arden had this "custom color foundation" that I LOVED. They took a camera to your face to get the exact color match, and they customized it for your skin type (oily, dry, etc). It was expensive, and I'm not even sure if they make it anymore (I live in Boston now, and they don't have it out here last I checked). But it was the best foundation I've ever used. All other brands just don't quite match my coloring.

I gave up on foundation- I have very fair and very sensitive skin. I use a moisturizer and Smashbox Photo Finish SPF 15 (this stuff is pure miracle). A little Bobbi Brown gel eye liner, Cover Girl cream eyeshadow (pencil) and lip gloss and I'm out the door.

I use Cover Girl cream makeup . I have found the perfect color and it is easy to use. I just can't get the hang of using the minerals. it just looks like powder when I try to use it.

I use mineral foundation. I have used Bare Minerals, and some of the newer drugstore brands as well.

They *will* cover blemishes and pimples, but the key is in the application. The more you swirl the brush into the skin, the more coverage you get. If you have great skin, a light swirling all over will do it, but if you need more coverage, do it again, all over. Work with it a bit.

Suzanne-I have the same problem as you, with needing a color that is pale enough for me. I normally always have to "mix" my foundation. I have to mix half of the palest, pastiest shade ever made, with the next one up. With the minerals it is easier, because I can dump both powders in a bowl, mix, and put them back into the containers. With liquid foundation, I have to buy both shades, and put a dot of each in my palm and mix. If I don't, I either look too ghostly, or too orange. (even with ivory shades...)

I've been using Bare Escentuals for years now and I LOVE it!! I would never go back to liquid make-up.

I agree...I think I would have a hard time going back to liquid, after getting the hang of mineral powders. They don't seem to break my skin out nearly as badly as liquid did-even oil free ones.
