I'm having some fun with the bigger open spaces now in the house. Turns out I can still do a somersault and I can do "big steps" across a room.

Next thing will be skipping. LOL

What fun, Dagmar, somersaulting across the new space from your reno.

Still under 150 lbs. - 149.6, despite DH's giving me large portions of dinner all week. I dare not criticize his cooking - I want him to do the alternate weeks - but I really want to plate my own food and have repeatedly said so. I guess I'll just have to eat as much as I think is a portion and then leave the rest. He will not like that either - he wants an excuse to stop cooking now that he's seen what it takes to do so for entire weeks at a time. I will prevail.

I have been cooking dinner for various people for most of my life. I want the remainder of my to be more free. I will still cook on alternate weeks but not every week. Enough!

Dagmar, to me it is strange that your husband would plate your food, I'm sure he's trying to be considerate, but no one has plated my food since I was about 3

The only things I cook for my husband are fresh vegetables. I'll batch steam things like green beans, broccoli, etc and keep them in the fridge. He's free to eat them or not, although I remind him often. Our diets are very different. His is very bread and cheese heavy, while mine has a lot more vegetables and huge salads. We both like unhealthy snacks, but after my bout with upper GI pain, we don't have cookies and chocolate candy in the snack box. Also, he eats on the traditional three meal a day schedule, while I eat several small meals at very odd times.

I'm reading that your weather is still very cold, Dagmar and Bill. Spring should be there soon!

"no one has plated my food since I was about 3".

Yeah the plating is very weird but hubby's explanation was that "you get plated food in a restaurant when someone else cooks for you so I'm doing it here".

My hubby is all about carbs. I prefer animal protein and lots of veg. We both like to snack but lately I've lost interest in a lot of the snacks. That is a very good thing, though I have no idea why it's happening.

Our reno has hit a snag - very "wavy" subfloor so cementing to level it out had to be done. Hope the goop is all dry when the flooring guy arrives. We soldier on.

Floors are done! They are beautiful.

Now I have clean up to do. And cooking dinner for the next couple of months. Hubby will be busy with his shed.

Sounds like he's building the Taj Mahal.

I weighed in at 149 lbs. again. That's fine. Not losing but not gaining either. Too tired to snack in the evening because I didn't get to nap during the day.

Very exciting about the floors, Dagmar! I remember how good it felt when we pulled up our old rug and put down vinyl plank a few years ago.

The HIDA scan I had showed that my gallbladder is not the issue. 100% normal according to the doctor. I've done more research and concluded that I have GERD, probably brought on because this spring I've been bent over pulling weeds for hours, many times on a full stomach. Right now I'm okay, so unless it gets worse, I'll just try to manage it. I need to eat small meals and only do weeding on an empty stomach!

Seems like a good self-diagnosis, Alice. The valving of the old stomach just isn't as robust as in years past. But a 100% good gallbladder is great news.

Fun to think of new floors, Dagmar. Maybe you can charge an entrance fee to view your DH's Taj Mahal.

All is well around here. The weather continues to be chilly instead of Spring going into Summer. Need to get myself outside despite the low temps. I do own a coat, LOL.

Glad your gall bladder is 100% Alice.

"Maybe you can charge an entrance fee to view your DH's Taj Mahal." Bill, We DO have a gate to the back yard - hmm

Since I have a mind that likes order I will start to really limit and count calories on May 1. I am "casually" doing it now but I need to step it up to lose weight.
