Today bites so far.
I had the cable guy to the house to set it up yesterday. Long story and needless to say, I missed the gym as he was there so late. Thought it was working but realized, A. I still need to go get a second box for the upstairs TV and B. Apparently my package is like 10 channels so I need to see about upgrading when I go to get the box.

Woke up this morning to no cable or internet so I don't know if they did something wrong or what. Couldn't figure it out. Raining. Cat puking. Dh is stuck in BFE China somewhere trying to get back to Beijing. I couldn't get ahold of him yesterday and I was getting worried and he finally came through and said he'd had a "relapse" of his stomach virus. I don't think that happens so after talking to him, it sounds like food poisoning. Poor guy. He's so stubborn. He won't tell me he's sick till the worst is over. Then, he got stuck in an airport (not feeling well) so I'm just worried about him. I feel like crying.

My weight is rebounding now that my appetite is returning. I was still over my redline so I was hoping not to rebound. Sigh. I really want to get to the gym today but I may have to call/ wait on the cable people again.

Friday morning, on a dark day, and I'm at 153.3, which may be my low weight of the week.

I'm feeling a long week of the accumulated tiredness that results from getting to bed later than I'd planned, night after night.

But the contractor came back and worked on the punch list yesterday. I've got working electrical outlets and a proper faucet spray. Half my kitchen cabinet doors are off, getting replaced because of their incorrect knob and handle placement or cracks.

Friday morning, weight up inexplicably. Maybe water due to exercise yesterday? Calories were well within reason--less than goal of 1450. Hmmm.

Our house is still in turmoil due to the painters. The kid's bedrooms and bathrooms are done, the guest room should be done today. I guess that means we move into the guest room next week so they can do our room.

Must. Stay. Focused.
Appetite is back and it brought friends.

By 7:30 this morning, a student gave me a cupcake for HIS birthday (homemade) and the 5th grade is setting up for birthday lunch celebrations (Tacos).

It's cold and raining cats and dogs.

I will not succumb (hopefully).

Saturday morning, with an unusual amount of traffic on the roads. Based on this, I believe attendance at the demonstrations today in Manhattan will be enormous.

I'm at 153, exactly, and I'd like to keep it there. I'm going to fight that creep up to 155.

Had my yearly doctor's exam this morning. Didn't even weigh me - just said my body fat percentage "looked great". I am in good shape - B/P, heart rate, etc. - and mentioned that I maintain my weight with the help of the 3FC Maintainers forum.

He looked quite puzzled.

Sunday morning, still strangely springlike, though that will change over the next 24 hours.

I'm at 153.8, and could not hold that low weight. There's something about Saturdays. Maybe it was snacking on cherries when I got really hungry? I let myself get pretty hungry yesterday.

Lots of sounds of cars in the evening last night, too: The city emptying of protestors, heading up north.

Sunday morning, weight same as yesterday.

We finally went to a movie yesterday. We've not gone for months due to the stent my FIL had put in months ago for his kidney stone surgery. Usually he has to go quite often and can't make it through that long. He managed yesterday, so that's good. He gets the stent out tomorrow. Anyway, we went to see Rogue One, which I guess is mandatory for the Star Wars series. Good show. I wanted to see La La Land, but we'll see that next week.

Lots of protests here although I only saw them on the news and social media. Glad I was able to help in a small way by making kitty hats and sending them here and there to protesters.

Monday morning, up to 154.2, and wary of the weather report, which calls for scary wind and several inches of rain.

I thought my weight would be higher because of my sedentary day, working. And it was.

It occurs to me that this "alternative facts" thing could also work with my scale.

Tuesday morning, back down to 153.7. I think I need to do a spreadsheet, as Shannon has done, to see if there is even a slight trend downward. I believe there is, though not by much.

Our Nor'easter was not as scary as predicted, mostly due to mild temperatures. This doesn't feel like a January that's normal, for so many reasons.

Yesterday was a quiet working day, though with an unexpected meeting. Today I have more meetings, ending with one at 7 PM. Our department is going to meet one evening every month to include colleagues in Japan and India.

Down to 159.4, a loss of about 6 pounds in 3 weeks. I cannot recommend my methods. The virus/flu thing became walking pneumonia (diagnosed formally on Friday). Food is barely on my radar. I'm beginning to feel somewhat better, though still completely washed out. I am going to obey the directive to take it really easy this week, and wait for all the lung crackling to stop. If I'm lucky, it may be a week. Not a happy camper, here.

So much happening and I've realised I haven't been posting here.

Somehow I seem to have lost a little of that razor-sharp focus that's needed for weight loss. Or is it that I've been doing more weights and so I've put on a little muscle and perhaps water weight? Or is it that I've had a few days of slightly more salty food than usual?

Or all of the above? Probably it's that one.

Good to see you all here. Sending you good vibes for good health, good weight loss and solid maintenance!

PS Interesting to see that 3FC's autocorrect for American* bad words hasn't caught up with the new reality about Trump, that p word and those pink hats. I've just tried it out here. Interestingly, I'm sure I saw Allison's post on the email update using the p word but it's changed to the k word here on the website.

* The p word has only been thought of as bad over here since the Internet got going.
