[double take] 11 loads of laundry? ELEVEN loads of laundry? Do you run a boardinghouse?
Sounds like it, doesn't? No, this was just for two of us. I have to sheepishly admit that I haven't washed laundry in just under four weeks. We have a lot of clothes, and we were on vacation for two weeks so work clothes didn't get dirty. There was a lot of catch up to do.
Two of the three pounds from Sunday's dinner are gone. One to go.
Plan for the day:
S-mocha protein shake
S-Quest bar
L-bistro salad, Activia light yogurt
S-12 pistachios
D-tomato and avocado sandwich, butternut squash soup
S-1 glass of wine
I'm still working on getting in a workout. It hasn't been going well. I'm getting a lot of extra work in around the house now that we've decided to keep the foster kitty.
Monday 10/26
Monday morning weight - 158.8
B - 1 scoop raw meal in 6 ounces of milk, coffee with two pumps of peppermint
E - 5 miles at the park before work
L - leftover shrimp and veggie stir fry
S - greek yogurt
E - 30 minutes of yoga after work
D - sausage, hot pepper and onion stir fry over spiraled crispy potatoes, diced tomato on top
S - 2 ounces of cinnamon rum while listening to Concert in Central Park on vinyl with DH (I'm also listing my relaxing, to remind myself how important it is )
Per MFP and Fitbit:
Cals in - 1227
Cals out - 2736 FB
Net - (1509) FB
Protein - 86g/32%%
Went for a run at the park before work, in what turned out to be the only hour and fifteen minutes all day with no rain. It was a hard run, I'm glad my next one isn't scheduled until Thursday. Wednesday is a rest day, so that should help, too.
Today started out fine. Got up and exercised, some yoga, weights and cardio. At work now, and feeling pretty accomplished so far.
Allison - I didn't see your last post before I posted, so keeping the foster kitty? How are they getting along?
It's a bit better every day. Turns out the former owner left town and left the cat outside to her own devices for over a month. Poor thing, according to neighbors, lived on the roof almost the whole time. I don't know who, if anyone, was feeding her. Then the owner came back to collect her and dropped her off at a friend's house--someone who had agreed to keep her for a few weeks. Well, I guess her wildness was too much for this person so she turned the cat into the city shelter. My assistant (friends with both people) asked to borrow my carrier to get the cat out of the shelter and I agreed to keep the cat for a few days until the person who originally said she'd take her would be able to come and get her. After what I saw and hearing more of her story, I thought she needed some stability and agreed to keep her for an extra week, but since she's doing better, we agreed to keep her.
She comes when she's called! DH called out, "Waffles, come out and play!" (think the Shining) and she came out of the room last night and attacked the climbing post for 5 minutes while the other cats watched. There is a lot less hissing and growling and she hasn't bitten anyone for two days. Ringo (oldest cat) is no longer afraid of her and has spent yesterday and today in her room, keeping an eye on her (and probably asserting his dominance).
I am new to maintenance and but have been lurking on 3fatchicks for a long time.
I am a great dieter and a crappy maintainer. I lost 70 pounds from dec. 29- October 15 and have now gained some back in less than 2 weeks.
My goal was normal BMI but I would actually like to get 5 pounds under which would be 145.
First step is trying to get back to my really good habits that I developed.
I hope to post here more often

Welcome!
Posting here has made a huge difference in my maintaining most of my initial weight loss. Support and friendship from others that understand make the difference. No one in my family cares if I gain 5-10 pounds as I still look normal and they're all overweight.
Allison I'm glad Waffles is settling in!
I was at a conference all day and while it was awesome, I hated the commute each way and sitting all day. I'm going to have to get busy to get my 10,000 steps today!
Allison, so glad you are keeping Waffles. What a great name! I'm always tempted to take another one, but seven cats is quite enough.
Welcome, MollyW! It's great that you are addressing the regain before it gets out of hand. For me, maintaining needs just about the same amount of attention as losing.
Michele I hope you got in your steps. I've got just over 500 left, which won't be a problem. Some nights I just walk up and down my driveway in the dark if I need more.
Traveling Michelle and howlingatthemoon- I don't know why maintenance doesn't feel the same. As I was initially losing the last few pounds, I thought a lot about what maintenance would look like. Mostly, I considered more freedom on the weekend and adding a cocktail.
Losing weight was fun and sexy and I shopped like crazy. I am addicted to fashion and love thrift shopping.
I have thought about setting a goal at a 1/2 pound a month so I could psych myself into still being a dieter.
Waffles is getting bolder every day. She came out on her own last night and hopped up on the couch between DH and me and sat for rubbing for over 10 minutes before she got up to explore. This morning, after growling and making Ringo (alpha cat) leave "her" room, she followed him out and is exploring more.
My whoosh hit and I'm back down to Saturday's weight.
My plan yesterday didn't pan out. DH wanted pasta for dinner. We're having leftovers for lunch today.
I am doing all right. Very busy all of a sudden but having a plan helps with that. Weight appears to be going down a tiny, tiny bit. That's fine with me!
Minestrone last night was a big hit all round. It was very much better than usual for several small reasons, I think. We did have tomato puree so didn't have to use a tin of toms; we have got bay, marjoram and thyme growing in the garden; the stock the SO made was very good and slightly less lemony than usual; I cooked the beans from scratch and used a mixture; I used stellate pasta.
Hi Molly and welcome!
I'm doing ok, but still haven't weighed since I got back from the conference. This weekend I'll face the music. I've not stuck to my "new plan" very well in the last few weeks. It's sad how easily I lose focus of a long-term goal when more pressing issues are present.
B - muesli etc
MMS - apple, cc
L - minestrone or curried parsnip soup, if ready
MAS - 4 almonds + piece of fruit (banana? but not v keen on that idea)
T - salmon or sausages, white and sweet potato wedges, Savoy cabbage or broccoli, leeks
E - physio x3, walk
Have weighed myself. That is a good thing in itself.

I do recognise this! I set up the structure and all is going well. Then something major hits and I run out of time to do what I have been doing. All very well to say it should be automatic after a certain while - sometimes I just don't seem to have the brain space or the time in the day.
Good luck today, everyone. I am proofreading and will be setting the timer to make sure I get up every 20-30 minutes and do a few stretches or something. It's raining and I really hope it stops a bit later. I'm going out for a walk regardless.
Again my plans were foiled. This time by a lunch out with a salesman. I had a light dish but I'm sure it was too high in calories. Weight up a bit as a result.
Plan:
B-leftover potatoes with cheese
L-leftover pasta, Activia light yogurt
D-steak and squash
