March 20: 2.5 mile run, 75 minute vinyasa flow yoga class
March 21: rest day
March 22: 1 mile treadmill warmup run, barbell squats (squatted bodyweight!!!!!!!!), barbell deadlifts, glute bridges, planks.
March 23: rest day
March 24 AM: 20 min on arc trainer, 50 kettlebell swings, planks
My first running class. There are six of us, all women, ranging from a marathoner and a triathlete, to me, to women trying to get back to running after the winter to one woman who got winded during the warmup. I'm in the middle. I cannot tell you how anxious I felt all day long about this class, and how I dreaded the cold (it was just in the 30s today, though sunny), now I feared I'd get tired while everyone else ran & ran.
We ran on the gorgeous, expensively surfaced track at the affluent high school, which is a state powerhouse in track & field. It's a 400-meter track. We were supposed to run for 20 minutes. I forget how many laps I did without stopping. Maybe six?
She advised us to run three times each week. I have to step it up.
Her only comment to me was to keep going, and she said I ran with a natural skip. This makes me feel slightly better about the whole thing.
saef, this is lovely. It brings a wonderful picture to mind of someone who has natural joie de vivre and who doesn't care. It's such a positive thing to say. This group sounds as though it'll be good. I'd like to come but can't really make it.
My exercise has been pathetic as I have a virus/cold/something horrible.

March 25: 95 minutes bikram yoga. I had to go to a school board meeting so I left yoga 5 minutes early to shower-- I hate leaving early but I was proud I didn't use it as an excuse not to exercise.
Thanks all. It's nice to remember Monday night ...
... because today was awful. Up at 4:30 AM, no gym, at the office by 7 AM, working till 6:30 PM, through lunch. Too late for spin class.
I felt chewed up & spat out.
Walked to the gym like a zombie, telling myself, "Just walk on the treadmill, you'll feel more energized." Well, a little. Couldn't run, though I wanted to. Finally did some one-minute sprints at 6.0, then walked at 3.5. That was all I could manage.
