July 22: about 75 minutes Tough Mudder Boot Camp Training which consisted of running up and down hills carrying a sandbag, lots of squats, lunges, etc. Dh went with me-- we both did well but are WIPED out! We (especially me) got entirely dirty and muddy as I had just put on sunscreen. I was planning on going to Bikram Yoga in the afternoon but I was still feeling lightheaded and I had such a hard time yesterday that I decided not to push my luck.
15 minutes Stairmaster step mill, aerobic intervals, resistance upped to nine
60 minutes chest, shoulders and triceps routine
And back in the evening:
60 minute endurance spin class, which weirdly enough, was run like my Upstate spin classes, simulating a road ride, rather than all kinds of movements and weight-lifting.
Tuesday evening, July 24:
-45 minute walk at dusk. Sightings: countless Canada geese, a pair of cedar waxwings, six deer, and three cute cats.
Wednesday morning, July 25:
-Due to last night's sushi dinner's revenge, I only had time for some helter-skelter kettlebell lunges, swings, passes & windmills and a pathetic 5 minute run. Was too weak/dehydrated to do much.
50 minutes Cybex arc trainer, hill intervals, resistance at nine, and this felt way too easy
60 minutes Pilates class, an easier one, mostly stretch, with me delighted to be in class again. "You were just a little behind," the instructor observed, a sub since the usual Pilates instructor is out on vacation.
15 minutes elliptical, intervals at eight and five, backwards
60 minutes back and biceps routine, this time on the Cybex assisted pullup machine rather than doing lat pulldowns
45 minutes Stairmaster stepmill, aerobic, resistance at eight
60 minute spin class with weight intervals, lots of squats, jumps and sprints
60 minute Pilates class, sort of like a restorative yoga hybrid, and I felt pretty wonderful afterward
Then home to lunch, shower & in the minivan for another five-hour drive, this time back Upstate.
