Where is everyone? How are all of your bootcamps, OP plans, etc. going?
|
Plans are not going so well. My goal was not met. I'm still in the same place, but wonder if my knee troubles might be a part of it. A small part for sure. I really need to get my head around this. I know I can do it, I'm just not committing.

Yesterday was a huge fail for me.
Today, POP so far! I still marvel how much water I can retain with white flour stuff. Today: 1/2 sweet potato with a slice of cheese the other 1/2 with some turkey strawberries grape tomatoes chicken/spinach 1 hr weights plenty of water! |
Yesterday was great until I got home at 10p from a very long day of work and ate thru the kitchen. Luckily we did not have any real junk but I managed to do quite a bit of damage.
Today, op so far. Made it thru an ice cream trip and now I am headed out to book club. Goal: tea, not wine, as I already have a tremendous headache and wine leads me off plan. |

Wednesday in London
Well, I feel as though I'm doing very well. I seem to be swinging along through this London trip. I've been asking myself why and this is what I've come up with.
The weather is sunny & warmish. No need to hunch up & easy to walk along. The leaves aren't out yet & few tourists so I can see the buildings, the river & the shape of the city. No fighting through crowds. My body is working well mechanically. Thanks, chiro & gymn. I planned my food as far as possible and am eating modestly with time to let it go down. I feel (and am!) much lighter, about 5lbs less than the last trip. My suit fits and doesn't pull. It's good. Good luck, everyone. Frogmarch that junk food to the bin. It has no business being anywhere near your body. |
I don't think they taste like pasta pasta but they do have an ok taste- sort of nothing. Takes on whatever you put them in.
Another veer off plan last night. Old habits of late night eating. Tummy distended. So unpleasant. Today is a new day. |
Pat me on the back :)
maintenance NSV :carrot:
did my 5 mile run even tho I really really really reaaaaaally did not want to :p |
Kitty, yay! :cheer: Great job on the run!
Silver, sounds like you're doing great with your London trip! :high: Allison and Midwife, you can do it! It sounds like you need both of these:  :kickbutt: POP yesterday for me, and I did the 2.5 mile run which I skipped Monday. Two workouts in one day! The scale rewarded me with 138.2 this morning. Random question for you guys. It seems that when I go run in the evenings, I often get a massive headache afterwards. I thought it was because I didn't eat enough before my run, so yesterday I made sure I ate a banana at 4:30, then had a tortilla and some hummus at 5:40, then went for my run at 6. After I got back I showered and cooked and ate dinner around 7:30. By 8:00 I had a headache again. It only happens on days that I run, so I know it's related to that, but I can't quite figure out what's going on. Any ideas? |
think hydration. often times I get headaches when dehydrated. :)
|
Jessica - I was going to say hydration, too. Happens to me sometimes, too.
|
Yesterday was POP. Whoo hoo! I had a little pity party last night, whining about how come I can't eat like a "normal" person and feeling sorry for myself, but I'm over it now.
Kitty, the words I used when DD and I started our run Monday night...."I'll run three miles even if it kills me." (Please no one be concerned that I am messing with my kid's head.....she's a distance runner and gets that pain and running often go hand in hand....) So good job on your 5 miles! Jessica, I would think hydration too. Also, I get headaches if it's really hot and I forget a hat or if it's really bright and I don't wear sunglasses. Silver, rubbish indeed! We're watching my nephews this week (well, DH is, I'm at work) and my sister-in-law brought donuts on Monday (one started my downward spiral Monday) and pizza on Tuesday. Ack!! Thanks, but no thanks! I did much better yesterday---iron resolve, not tempted at all. |
Thanks guys. I drink plenty of water before and after my run, so I don't think it is hydration (about 2L during the work day, another glass right before the run, and another glass right after, followed by one more with dinner). It's not too hot outside but it was bright and sunny, and I didn't wear a hat or sunglasses. Next time I will wear a hat and sunglasses and see if it helps!
|
Jessica - hmm. Sunglasses and hat might help. I also find my food composition before a run can hit me pretty hard, but you had banana, tortilla and hummus, so I would think you hit the major groups. Maybe you need a small amount of a sports drink after? Electrolyte hit could be causing the headache?
I'm staying pretty OP this week after my cake fest this weekend. Last week was pretty OP up until the weekend. Still jumping up and down the same three-four pounds, mostly up. After the run on Sunday I'm going to drop my calories, maybe 150 per day to start to see what happens there. Need to figure out how to shake the bloated feeling. Wondering if it is from eating more vegetables than normal? Midwife - I've said that to myself a lot... Or on the treadmill it is 'I'm going to stay on this thing for an hour, no matter what happens'. :) Birch - glad you are having a good trip! Kitty - :high: on the five miler! to everyone else! |
Thanks for the kick in the butt, Jessica. I do need that. On a daily basis!
Sorry I can't think of a reason for your headache. I can't run with glasses! I'm always afraid they'll fly off! |
