Anyone want to trade scales with me?? Mine downright HATES me.
I was hoping it was just some excess bloat from Easter w/e - but it is tenacious...not budging. I am planning a 13k run tomorrow - hopefully that will help, otherwise i am bound to get the 'stink- eye' @ WW on Saturday:( S |
well....is everyone out marathoning???
go girls go :):):) interestingly enough, my scale said 122.5, lowest in a loong time. Next week is my procedure and I really want to be 125! kooky right? have a good one chicks! |
Good luck next week! A piece of pizza will bounce my scale up about 2.5 lbs, so maybe that will work for you?

thx chick!
I saw some very very very wonderful news about engineering and your hubbie! Big big big congrats to you and yours :):):) |
Thanks, Kitty! It's a huge huge huge lifechanging relief!
|
What'd I miss?
Can y'all circle the wagon back around so I can get back on please? |
Ward, my DH has been a fulltime student for 3 years and will graduate in May with an engineering degree. He has had some problems finding a job locally and we were trying to decide between thinking about moving, him returning to grad school, or him getting a nonlocal job and coming home on weekends. He FINALLY was able to get an engineering job locally that he will really enjoy, and so we don't have to move and we will no longer be a 1 income family (which, while no one is starving, we're not getting ahead either, and DD will have her own college expenses this fall). Such a huge relief!!! Yay!!!

That's great news, midwife! :) yay!

Congrats midwife! That's really great news!
Oh yes Ward, circle circle. Hop on board! Sznn, how is your scale? I have a weird relationship with mine as well. Maybe we could trade, throw them off, and confuse them? Honestly I'm kind of ignoring the scale right now! Maybe a scale break would help your relationship. I just ran to the gym for some cardio and abs during lunch. Food is pretty good. I've been eating ~1600-1800 clean cals a day (though I haven't had time to write it down, I'm doing an estimate in my head), without too much though, or even trying to keep my intake down. All my pre-packed stuff from Sunday, which is really really nice. Where is that chicken running around with its head cut off icon? Actually I'm busy, but feel like I've been handling the juggling act decently. Keep on truckin' everyone! |
OK. I've been maintaining very nicely for a month or so but now I'm trying to gear up for another big push. I have very few wearable clothes & buying new is next to impossible. Smallish top half and waist. Much larger hips and thighs. Makes trousers next to impossible: they fit my hips but you can fit a pillow in the back of the waistband.
Oh, yes! Remember my pantsometers? Linen trousers do now fit but it's not warm enough yet. Lined trousers just don't (see above) and anyway it's not winter anymore. I'm not at all sure what I'm going to wear to work tomorrow. I'll just have to rummage around in the dressing up box. So. A long-winded way of telling you (AND myself) that another good push is needed. That would see some loss on the lower half and the possibility of buying clothes that fit. How are you all doing? |
silverbirch - I think I could have written your post! Trying on pants is just so freaking frustrating - even the new "Curvy" fits still leave me with gaps. I have a 15-year old pair of Lands End size 8 relaxed fit jeans - and I am really, really tempted to have a tailor disassemble them and make (oh crap, what are those "plans" for clothing called????) a hundred sets of patterns (only 5 minutes to remember that word!).
midwife - congrats to you and DH! I had a weekend chock full of NSVs at our state championship swim meet - a) squeezed into my competition swimsuit and didn't hate what I saw in the mirror, b) brought home 3 2nd-place finishes and c) set personal bests in all 3 events (36.7 in 50BK, 1:20.09 in 100BK, and 1:18.20 in 100IM). Bring it on, Atlanta! But I haven't been eating like an athlete, the scale is not budging, and it's time to get it back together. |
Becky - wonderful results! Well done!
Interesting about Lands End. SO has reminded me a few times about some Lands End chinos I had about 15 years ago which fitted OK. But I don't like the look of the LE stuff today. Let's all eat like athletes! |
Becky, great job on your races!!! :cheer: I'm not familiar with swim lingo, could you explain what the distances you did were?
Silver, good luck with your new push! I have an issue with the waist/hip on pants too. My solution is usually to buy a cut that is labeled as "curvy" and that has some stretch (like 1% spandex or something). The ones that are labeled "curvy" usually have more room in the hips and smaller waists, and the stretch makes it so that I can get closer to my actual body shape. Weight is staying stable right around 138 here. Saturday night I wore my new size FOUR dress to the symphony. Either there has been some major size inflation in the past four years or weight lifting has done wonders -- I think when I hit 138 on my way down the first time I was a size 8-10. Right now I'm comfortably in all my 6's, my 8's are a little loose, and holy cow I bought a size 4 dress. I'd still like to get back to 135, but since I declared 135-140 to be my official maintenance range I'm pretty comfortable in it at the moment. What happens happens. |
