    Things have been awful for me. I'm almost at an all time high in weight. It's miserable. I won't bother posting any menus but i'm back on track today. I'm doing LAWL and WW combined. I'm just trying to be starch free for a few days to get some of the water weight off.

    LaDean- I think WW is a good program and you'll like it. It works well w/ everything. Sorry about the weight gain, i'm in the same boat as you. When I write that I love SS, I am meaning Slim Series workouts not Somersizing. lol

    Aleka- How are things? You gained as well? We all have to get it together. Must be the weather or something, all i can think about is treats. What plan are you doing right now? I haven't been to Suzzanes site in a long time. The new Atkins plan sounds great.

    Lets get back on track and start posting menus. lol

    Hi kit, oh i see ok. i have never heard of that one.. yes i have done ww before and lost. so i like it. i am watching the starches also. in last few days have gone over board with them. had buffet today and so over did. tomorrow its back to my plan for sure.. yes i seem to be in a bad rut... last month i lost every week. so i will do it again. i have to... its sure not helping the blood pressure all this sugar i have been on. ha so tomorrow its off it and the snacks. back to my be good self

    ALEKA... WHERE ARE YOU TODAY???? hey hows it going now are you doing that new atkins or ww... I just am not much of a bread eater but for some reason when i am on that i want it.ha ha i am just not a meat eater so is hard one for me. especially at garden time. thought i could stick to it. but going back to my prism and ww. good luck to you and Kit both... yes we will get with it.. tuffy is doing ok. says woof to lacee. my daugher was at coast and got me the cutest socks with boston bull dogs on them from tuffy for mothers day. so cute i love them...

    Aleka- How are you doing?

    LaDean- I'm not a meat eater either and i'm not a bread eater either but like you whenever I completely have to cut breads out of my diet I rebel and want it badly. but, right now i'm doing a modified LAWL and WW. Yes we can do this together. I've already lost 2# of the 5# that I gained.

    memu- 5/12
    breakfast- 2eggs, 3 slice turkey bacon, 1slice cheese
    Lunch-4oz chicken, salad, dressing diet soda, SF jello
    Dinner- Gyro, meat and veggies only, tossed the pita, diet soda, SF jello

  • Kathy, congratulations on your weight loss. Your eating sounds right on track. I'm still mulling through what I want to do. Right now I am in the process of listening to my body to see what it is I want to do. I have found out through trial and error, that I need to have carbs in the morning. My stomach feels so much better after having cereal, fruit, & skim milk for breakfast. At my other meals I do just fine without any bread or other starch. Bread is just one of my downfalls, but I honestly don't miss it. Until I decide what to do, I'm just going to eat balanced meals, watch my portions, and start walking again. I did get my first walk in today since my back started feeling better.

    LaDean, like you and Kathy, whenever I can't have something, that's when I really crave it. But, I do eat meat, especially hamburg. I won't eat lamb or veal, and I'm *iffy* on pork. But, I do eat bacon How is your eating coming along? The socks your daughter gave you sound adorable. I get dog catalogs a lot, and I bought a pair of sock slippers with a Boston on each slipper. I have quite a few Boston statues, stuffed Bostons, and other things. It started with the Boston we had before Lacee.

    L: salad w/soy nuts & hamburg, regular salad dressing, diet soda
    D: meatloaf, baked french fries, wax beans, diet soda
    Snack: sugar free jello w/2Tablesp. lite Cool Whip

    ALEKA, Yes know what you mean i have been deciding to. so finally just said ok ww as its easy to do. not much thinking.ha then my prism . its not that much i got it down pat.ha ha Oh your boston things sound cute. tuffy just had his nails trimmed they get so long...
    well yesterday i went to a casino... was lucky so fun.ha i had buffet and not really all that bad... was sensibly.. but today its back to my plan and stick to it. ha i got to get to the losing again...

    have not decided what rest of day is yet.... but i will be good.ha I had my walk this am to. got warm as its a warm day. i may have to head out earlier when it starts staying warm. cannot take the heat at all. well hey both of you have a great day... later LaDean

    LaDean, I envy you your warm weather. Hopefully some of it will come our way. I'm getting sick of the damp, raw weather we've been having. I'm still wearing my winter jacket! Hope you enjoyed yourself at the casino. Did you win anything? How did your eating go yesterday? Tuffy must look very handsome with his nails clipped.

    I have lost 3# over night! Today is my 3rd day being starch free for now. So now i'm back to where I was before, so bring on the weightloss! lol

    Aleka- I'm doing much better! I'm on track. I want to have a balance diet but I don't trust myself not to over do it, so I completely cut starches out of my diet for now. I have a trip in July and want to loose 16# before then. On Mon it was 21#, so i'm coming along. I really like your diet, it very balanced and sound. What SF fudcicles do you eat? I could use some.

    First off, great job on the weight loss, Kathy! You really are doing great! You will definitely lose the weight you want by the time you go on your trip. Where are you planning to go? I've been reading a lot of Diana Schwarzbein, where she advocates eating a balanced meal, adding 15g. of carbs to each meal and 7g. for each snack. It's almost like Somersizing, where you eat healthy fats, no sugar or white flour, but no food combining. The food combining has stopped me from going back to Somersizing. I am also reading Atkins for Life, where you do a *controlled* carb diet. That looks really interesting too. I'm sure it's meant to be his maintenance phase, but it does say in the book that you can lose weight by controlling your carbs without doing the induction phase. So far the Atkins plan sounds easier than Schwarzbein's.

    Hi LaDean, how are you coming along?

    Last night's dinner was a disaster! I made some whole-wheat pasta. We have those pasta pots with the holes in the lid for easy draining. Well...DH went to drain the pasta, he didn't lock the lid and all the pasta ended up in the sink! So, we had take out.

    5/14:
    B:shredded wheat, w/blueberries & strawberries, skim milk, black coffee
    L: Chicken cobb salad from McDonalds w/regular salad dressing. (Those new salads at McDonalds are delicious!) diet soda
    Snack:1/4 cup almonds
    D: chicken parmesan w/white pasta, diet soda

    Lunch..... macroni and cheese

    snacks. couple handfuls of fritos. taffy. (NO NO NO )

    JUST COUPLE DAYS WITHIN MY POINTS....
    I still am watching starches and sugar trying to be able to eat them both sensibly... i just cannot see cutting out something completly. i did and lost but i think i would have lost anyhow using sugar sensibly. as it was garden time and i was eating alot of good things. if this makes sense...
    glad your doing good. keep it up... I have not read about that diane one...

    LaDean, you are doing great with your points. It's good to vary your points, that way it jumps your metabolism. The 51 points you had the other day isn't bad. From different posts I've seen, 1 pt. = 50 cal., but that doesn't include the calories you eat in the 0 point veggies that you're allowed. So, it is a rough estimate. Keep up the good work.

    Kathy, how was your day yesterday? I get Hoods sugar free fudgicles. Do you get Hoods in your area?

    How's everyone doing? I'm fine, and i'm still eating well. Yesterday and today I had starch in the form of WASA crackers, and Sat. Sun & Mon, i'll be starch free.

    Aleka- I've never heard of Hood's sugar products, but i'm going to keep my eye out for the. Do they only make one flavor, what's you fav? You menu looks very wholesome! Very balanced. I'm heading out to Florida in July, I read SS book and I am also looking into D.S. book as well, I like her principle. And I did read Atkins book. I'm just trying to take the best principle from all and incorporate into something that will work for me. Mainly it boils down to starches and sugar.

    LaDean-A lot of people do fluxuate their pts and fine that they do see better results that way.

    Menu 5/15 Thu
    Breakfast- 2 eggs, 3 slice turkey bacon, 1 slice cheese
    Snack- 2 Wasa crackers, 2 slice cheese
    Lunch-chicken & broccoli, diet soda, jello
    Snach- Balance bar
    Dinner-2 hamburgers no bun, salad, FF jello, some popcorn

  • i had a good day. stayed same last week for tops weigh in, i was so happy.... but this week will be a loss i am ready to get with it. thanks aleka i would like to stay lower end with pts but just starting again this week i thought it was ok.ha
    Breakfast.... hot dog roll, weiner, milk
    Lunch.... tomatoe soup and hot dog roll and weiner
    Dinner.... rice roni total of pts are 34 ( good)
    as you see i eat anything i am hungry for a breakfast so sometimes not breakfast things. ha was tops day so ate later...
    I never got exercise in today... i am plugged up so its allergies as i am not sick... got some allergie medicine going to take at bedtime now its later...

    Good morning.....

    LaDean, congratulations on staying the same! That is just as important as losing weight. Thanks for the diettalk site. I went into it and registered. So...I may see you over there. I got on the scale this morning and I've GAINED 2 more lb.! This is NOT good. I have to start getting serious about something ASAP.

    Kathy, I think that Hoods products may be just sold in New England, but I'm not totally sure about that. I always get the chocolate fudgsicles because it satisfies my chocolate cravings whenever I get them. I think I will start the Atkins using 40g. of carbs per day and see how it goes. I don't think I'd be able to do induction with only 20g. per day. Tomorrow we'll be going out and I'll pick up a good carb counter book. Ya, I like some of D S way of eating, but sometimes is too strict. Some of the Ssizers were doing both, using Suzanne's WOE and adding a few carbs with their meals, and not food combining. They were losing too.

    I won't post my menu for yesterday because it wasn't all that good.

    Yes i was so happy to stay the same. scales the same or down a bit this am. forgot to weigh before i ate breakfast.... ha i am addicted to the weighing daily.ha Do not FRET now aleka you know how to do it. so getting back into your plan and moving forward now is what counts. yesterday has been forgotten we look forward to today... so go for it... i am going to be a good girl.

    Your welcome for the site. i love it , now are you under the same name???? its a fun one i like it so busy... i go there and here... then i check out oprah and prevention and atkins ones somethimes. theres a weight watchers site i love it. www.sommoorecats.com I just like checking into the different ones. use to be in dietwatch and they started charging so diettalk followed it and alot went to that one... I never walked allergies and do not know for sure if its that or cold so staying in has been ucky... but sun is out today so may get something in. just ride ex bike maybe.... well hey you 2 have a great weekend now. i will be in later.....
