Nevermind, I was reading it wrong.

Aretmis68,
If you exercise on an elliptical trainer, could you tell me how many calories does the GWF log down as used (on avg. doesn't have to be exact or anything) per hour?

Bev 04-02-2009 07:52 PM

I thought I posted this the other day but 24 hour fitness will have the bodybugg on sale for 199 starting on Sunday.

I just ordered a sensewear and have been wearing it for a day. looks like I should spend a Sunday afternoon inputting "recipes" of the meals I usually eat so I can save myself the time and hassle during the week(s). I was worried about the size of the unit and arm band but it really isn't too bad.

I'm excited! I must be a little bit of a gadget girl - I have been using an omron pedometer for the past month and I get pretty anal about going out for "one more walk" to meet the 10,000 step goal. Hey, whatever works, right?

Hey everyone!
Hanging in there. between vacation, work and the holidays i am so salt bloated I feel yucky. Tons of water today and back ontrack forr me!

jajabee 04-13-2009 05:18 PM

Hey again! I'm still staying on track, still loving the GWF... I decided a few weeks ago to stop worrying about sodium, so after a "hit" on the scales, I'm back to my usual pound and a half a week average! I just accept that the number on the scale is about 2-3 pounds higher than it could be if I didn't enjoy my canned soup so much. :)

Wingz 04-14-2009 08:31 PM

I have been wearing my GWF since March 11th I am down 26 lbs so far as of today I still have 59 Lbs to meet my 1st goal.

I am setting monthly goals for myself to meet and the food journaling has been an eye opener that has helped a lot. I also like the sleep option since I work nights I cheat sleep a lot.

I just recieved my body bugg yesterday and I am hoping someone can help me.

My display and online stay I burned too different amounts. THe display says 821 and the web says 930. Does anyone know why there is a difference. I have syned my display to my armband several times.

jajabee 04-15-2009 03:51 PM

There's a page somewhere on their site that says the display uses a "miniaturized" version of the algorithms they use to calculate calorie burn, so it's normal for the display to be a little (like 50 calories) off at the end of the day. The website is the accurate number.

Thanks for answering my question.

At the end of the day I had a 140 calorie difference between the web and display and I synced them one right after the other with the display being first.

I don't know if this is normal or not. It is also taking my several tries to sync between the armband and the display. Is it suppose to sync the first time I hit the button?

It's supposed to, yes, but if you have a lot of wireless devices nearby (cell phones, etc), they can interfere with it. I didn't have a problem when I had my display, but I don't carry a cell or anything.

The 140 calorie difference does seem a bit high... maybe you can call or email them? I know I've heard people report that their customer service seems a little swamped, but you might give it a try.

I lost my display device a couple of months ago, so I've just been plugging into the computer every day. I miss the display, but not having it hasn't been a problem... and after 3 months of wearing the armband, I'm starting to be able to guess pretty darn well what my burn is going to be for the day. :)

I emailed them and heard back the next day. They gave me a few things to try so hopefully they work.

Yeah, I noticed that too! Gosh darn it! There go my plans for eating my way to thin!!!

I think in reality, digesting food requires some level of metabolic work, but not nearly as much as exercise. However, the human body is an amazingly efficient machine, and it will conserve energy in order to "survive". Keeping properly fueled will keep your body from going into a conserve mode.

A balanced, healthfully-chosen nutrient mix, a 500-calorie daily deficit, and daily exercise. There's no magic, just consistency.

Hello all. I just got my BB today and I'm looking forward to getting started!

One of the things that draws me to this particular program (having done other diets/programs) is that it's K.I.S.S. (keep it simple, stupid). I love that the basic premise is: Eat fewer calories, move around more, lose weight.

THis is the same reason why I love it, and I believe it was well worth the money. For me the simplier the better. You just have to remember to move more.
