I'm not exactly sure how I managed to come to this place, and get comfie with no calorie counting, but man, I am glad I did. I really enjoy food and life a lot more.
I'm kind of like Julie. At my very highest weight ever, I was 201. (Baby on the way) After I had her, I did i.e. without realizing what it was at that time and got down between 160 and 165. I found this site when I really decided to put the smack down. Counted calories, worked out like crazy, posted to every challange here possible, and didn't loose a pound (but became a runner.) I then was introduced to this by Blue and bought the book. (THANKS BLUE!) Changed everything for me. I really no longer diet or count calories and am down under 150 now...in a pretty short time frame. I'm sure it has something to do with starting the process of the big D, but I do eat when hungry and don't beat myself up about it.Originally Posted by JulieJ08
I don't know that I really "do" IE 100%, but I quit calorie counting at the beginning of September and have lost 21 more pounds since then. It's slower, but that might also be because I'm closer to a normal weight. I really focus on the quality of what I eat (both nutrition-wise and taste-wise). Truly basing your eating on your hunger and satiety is a lot more difficult than it sounds. I don't overeat in the extreme anymore, but respecting the more subtle cues is something I'll be working on for a long time.I'm not exactly sure how I managed to come to this place, and get comfie with no calorie counting, but man, I am glad I did.
