The shrimp/goat cheese tostada is the second recipe. I made it using minimal oil. I used about 1 heaping tsp of the sauce. I have left over for something else. I used about 1/6 of a smallish avocado. The avocado was perfect and delicious - all I could do to stop myself from filling the pit depression with full fat mayo and consuming the whole thing. What am I saying?

This is the bourbon/blue berry recipe:

Thanks gail- I am especially interested in that blueberry sauce- I liked what that one comment said about making extra and canning it for gifts. I'm always looking for small, homemade gifts for the holidays!

Meowee- how's it going now with the new kitty? Is everyone friends yet?

Teacher- I was talking with my brother in CO, and his kids started school last week, too, so maybe MI is in the minority. I know there was new legislation passed that made it mandatory to not start until after Labor Day because so much of MI's economy depends on tourism. The kids sure don't seem to mind!

Hi there . . .

Another nice day -- but getting warmer again, so guess we are not done with summer yet.

All felines seem to be adjusting . . . Sandy has found one regular playmate in Blizzard . . . between the two of them, they broke a lamp yesterday. . . the older ones (and the Bengals, of course) mostly just ignore him.

I made the blueberry sauce and it was yummy!!! I thought that was good idea about canning and gifting it. I put my leftover in the freezer, because if I didn't, I would just eat it off a spoon.

So, last night I had filet with bluberry sauce, asparagus, two cute little red potatoes and a spinach salad with orange sections and pumpkin seeds. Every thing was perfect! I love it when that happens.

Busy, busy day planned today and it will include lunch with some friends -- going to be Chinese food I will avoid the breaded stuff and will be having lots of vegetables, but the sodium with probably do me in anyway -- I can feel the cankles starting to swell already. Hey -- all any of us can do is our best.

See you later, gang . . .

Morning . . .

Weather has turned really hot and sticky again. On a good note, so far I'm only up a pound from the Chinese Food debacle yesterday. Hope more doesn't show up later.

Have a great start of the weekend, gang . . .

I have done much better with my meals yesterday and today. I got out the Volumetrics book and read a little in it for inspiration.

I had a very good OP kind of day yesterday, but still have that one extra pound with me . . . at least it didn't gather any more friends overnight.

Gorgeous morning with lots of sun and comfy temperatures although it is still a little too humid and is supposed to get quite warm by mid-afternoon.

Have a great Sunday, everybody . . .

Sorry I'm a little late to the party, but congratulations Judi!!! I keep checking that, too, but I can't seems to make the move into the lower bracket. Maybe I need an extra 2 inches? Actually, I'm thinking that getting the book back out like Gail did is a good idea.

Went to Ann Arbor yesterday to see my new grandpuppy- he's very cute! The vet had a whole list of stuff for my daughter to expose him to, to make sure that he ends up being a good dog. It seems a bit extreme, but she's really taking all this to heart. We helped out because we were new people, older, and my DH had a baseball hat on. I remember the days when you just got a puppy and trained it. Oh well.

I just came across this article while sorting through my morning email- it provides one more reason to keep packing in those ED foods! http://www.realage.com/ct/eat-smart/...ition/tip/6702
