I lost 5 lbs. on the TakeOFF. Woohoo! But, man, I got my meal plan, and that's a LOT of food. I'm not sure how I'm going to lose eating so much more than usual. I guess because I'll be eating the right foods?!?!?!

Yes, Dee........you need to get that metabolism revved up and ready to burn those calories Having so many choices with foods really is the key to being successful with LAWL. Congrats on your first loss I am sure there will be many more to come

yea!!!! Nicole is back! welcome home!

Congrats to Jillian! woohoo!

The wedding was fun, I did pretty good, I am a little puffy today so the scale was up 2 but I can deal with that. DH is taking me out tonight for supper, for my birthday (it was saturday the day of his sisters wedding, so nobody, incuding my DH and kids even said anything until 2:30 pm..... a bit over shadowed I guess) so tonight will be the last somewhat off plan thing and then right back at things tomorrow. it will be full steam ahead until Thanksgiving, and then I will take thanksgiving off and relax, then full steam until I leave for florida.

heres to a great week!

Dee -WAY TO GO!!! See.. I told you just to hold out and you'd see some results! Granted, a lot of that is water and waste, but it should be a good example of what you can do when you put your mind to it.. Just remember that most weeks you'll only see a couple of pounds, which is the healthiest way to lose.. Don't freak out if you're up or down a few ounces at WI.. And try to go to WI at the same time every time...

It's tough to get your mind around the fact that you'll be eating more to lose, but those foods you eat actually work toward weight loss, rather than promote weight retention..

Nicole - Welcome Back!!

Wow! I miss so much when I'm gone for the weekend! We got back from SF yesterday and I feel like a zombie. I haven't partied in a while, so being out and staying up til 4am is NOT something I'm used to anymore. Had a great time though, even though I was really off plan for almost 2 whole days!!!

Anway,

NICOLE!! My it is great to see you. You have to give us more details about the trip! Sounds so beautiful. So glad you are home safe and sound. I loved your rant about your girlfriend. Backhanded "compliments" are a pet peeve of mine. I have a grandmother who is the queen of those. It's very passive agressive, and it gets under my skin. Sounds like you do a great job keeping up with your house! It's just me, dbf and our dog and our house never seems to stay clean!!

Jillian-CONGRATS! So glad to hear you are getting excited. So stange how things work out. I know you can keep from gaining all that weight during the pregnancy. YOu have come so far! Best of luck as your pregnancy progresses and I hope you are here to check in throughout so we can get updates!

Liza, Amy how are you guys feeling?

I had to skim the last few days posts, but I hope everyone is having a good monday!

Off to the dentist...yuck!

Jillian - incredible news! I am so excited for you!

DH and I tried for 5 years to get pregant and finally had DS. We figured that we were blessed to have him and that would be all. Three years later, while on the pill, I got pregnant! Silly as it seems now, I cried for 3 weeks. I felt too old to be pregnant and didn't think we could make it at all financially. But God worked everything out. Now I can't imagine life without my sweet Elizabeth!

Oh, and with my first pregnancy, I LOST 40 pounds!! I never gained, just kept losing - probably because I was so careful about what I ate. Since the baby was growing and healthy, my doctor was thrilled. Of course, all of those pounds came back - with friends! But I only gained 11 pounds with my second pregnancy.

Okay, enough about me! Yay, Jillian!!!! Congratulations!!

felicia--you've definitely given me some hope! i'm crossing my fingers and hoping i don't gain too much. i gained 60lbs with both of my kids but that was due to poor eating and too much eating. hopefully my healthy habits won't get me into too many pounds! i doubt i'll lose while i'm prego, which is fine with me, but i don't want to gain 40lbs either! anyways, thanks for the uplifting story!

Congratulations Jillian! I'm sure you will do fine in the weight gain department. I can honestly say that except for right now, the healthiest I've ever eaten was when I was pregnant. Something about knowing it is affecting the life inside you helps you make better choices.

Is candy corn a veggie or a starch?

I Disagree Nicole. Corn falls into the starch category. So Candy Corn should be a condiment.
