I just started weight watchers today and I am excited to see how much weight I can lose. So far today has been great. I am actually going to be under my points for the day and I am not hungry at all. I think I am actually going to enhoy this diet. I have discussed possibly having the lap band surgery but me and my doctor decided that I would attempt this first then after 6 months if I am not where I want to be in weight loss then I would consider the surgery. I really don't want to go that route but I need to get the weight off.
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes last year and I have had a tough time with it. So far I have been on several medications for it and they have all worked to bring my blood sugar down to normal but I have been having one side effect that I can't handle. All the medications have caused me to gain fluid weight. I gained almost 50 pounds on the medication and was up to almost 320 pounds 6 months ago because of this. I was on the highest dose possible of Lasix a fluid pill (so much that my cardiologist that I went to for a check up because of the fluid was worried I was going to kill my kidneys). So I was taken off most of the medication I am now only on metformin which only helps a little and I have now lost all the fluid weight and then some. I am going to go see a diabetes specialist in a few weeks to see if he can find a medication that will not cause me to gain fluid. Wish me luck!
Sorry for the long intro but I am excited and ready to make some new friends!
Everyone have a great night and a Happy Labor Day!

Hi there from Huntsville, I live between Huntsville and Guntersville...at the bottom of Grant. I was violently shoved off the wagon(J/K...LOL). This time I started off at 170 pounds and this time last year(September 5 to be exact) I ran a 5K at 145 pounds. So, stay motivated and focused and you will be fine because when I first started I was 215 ponds at 5'4". Hang in there!!!
