Default Hello I'm new!

I've been a member for a few days but I'm never sure what to say on these things so I've been putting this off.

I've decided that it's time for me to get in better shape. I think my mother helped me make that decision with a Wii Fit gift for Easter. Weight has always been an issue for my mother and myself and I'd really like to change that.

Right now, my goals aren't major. I just want to start slow, maybe 5 pounds and get moving. I'm hoping that by losing the first few pounds and getting more active will help me make the decision to get healthier. I'm only 23 and currently about 245 pounds. I don't want to be this way forever. I'm a preschool teacher and on my feet all day and I definitely feel it when I get home. I think I'm too young to be that tired and sore at the end of my shift. So I've got to start somewhere.

Welcome high flyer! I'm a fairly new member to 3fc also. My starting weight and age are almost the same as yours 237lbs and 24yrs old. Since the beginning of april I lost 6lbs and I'm so much happier. You're really going to love these forums because it gives you a chance to talk, get advice, hear motivating success stories, and most importantly get support. Don't forget you're not alone, good luck on your journey! :-)

Welcome! I want a Wii fit so bad -- do you like it?

This is a fantastic site for support and I hope you find your 'niche' here!

I really do enjoy it. I like that it is a game but yet is enough to get me moving. I know the stuff isn't high impact but I think it's a good start. Otherwise I just sit around and do nothing, the Wii Fit actually gets me up and moving around. I've been spending 30+ minutes on it about 3-4 times a week and I definitely feel better after each session. Because of Wii Fit I bought EA Sports Active. So one thing lead to another.

Thank you! Today I've started getting more serious. I'm starting to calorie count so I'm taking another step! Go me!
