Hi mightydog and welcome.
You know, I have read multiple stories here on this message board where the individual started small....cut out just a few items/changed a few things....and then, over a relatively long period of time, changed more and more things as they adjusted to the changes and realized the benefits....and eventually lost all the weight they'd wanted to.....and for many of them it was a really significant amount of weight.
So...this is definitely one way to do it....even though it generally takes longer than just launching into a totally different plan. But....you will need to have patience and persistence. Those seem to be the two things responsible for the ultimate success of the ones here who did it that way.
