Hey guys, I started in July 2014 and lost close to my goal weight. I then had some stomach issues and went off the diet. I spent all last year trying to find a diet that would work for me and ended up just gaining all of the weight back, plus some. I'm here to start anew and recognize some of your names. I was more of a lurker, but y'all really help keep me on track back then. Hope to get to know you better this time around! Oneuh2, you were always so sweet and encouraging to me and I appreciate that so much. I'll be saying a prayer for your husband tonight. Hope all is well.

Tanklan, I did the exact same thing as you ... and was able to reboot and lose MORE the 2nd time around. So just keep plugging away at it.

Despite the hospital routine and the overall aggravation of another setback with DH due to a fall, I completed Day 1 of reboot on P1! Per the home scale I dropped 2 lbs - love getting up in AM, hitting the bathroom and then heading straight for scale to find a downward movement of the needle.... YAY!!!

Nice job Oneuh2! And thanks for the encouragement Avalon1957! After a horrible night, with very little sleep, Day 4 getting started! Might need a nap today!

Tanklan I did not get much sleep last night either....as you can see from my last post which I wrote last night....this morning?..124 am...

I could go for a snooze but will have the same problem if I do this.

I see you are in South Texas...my parents are in Mission Texas for thr winter months...my mom, who use to love winter, could not take the cold anymore. They have been going to Texas for the last six years.

Quick check in.... I too am plugging along trying to be as perfect P1 as I can among the stress and busy schedule. Still need to be better, but scale is slowly moving in the downward direction. I can do this....

Cheryl - Hope DH is feeling better.. Results today for DH of PET ... Fingers crossed for good news...

Yes, we have lots of winter Texans down here. I'm near Corpus Christi. It's lovely, but so HOT and Humid in the summers!

ok - here I am on Day 3 - I have had breakfast, lunch, dinner on program and still get to enjoy a snack today -- I managed to get thru to evening without having the snack earlier..... could not do that yesterday or day 1.

But per the home scale I am down about 4 lbs - excellent start. Will be glad if the cravings dissipate for me this time as they did when was doing this as a July 2014 starter

I made up some muffins from the Quest Peanut Butter protein powder today - liked them very much, and I can see why folks seem to like the PB flavor. I have a canister of the Multi Purpose protein mix too - it will help to stretch my vanilla and chocolate IP drink mixes into muffins or cookies that will carry me along on P1.

I am SO glad to have held off the gremlins for almost 3 days, and I have posted in My Fitness Pal for 2 days - I go there next when I get off these boards this evening. My idol is JJTx who has posted 500+ days on MFP - I bet her maintenance is going well and hope she will pop in here from time to time. I wonder how the no-gluten life is working out for her...

It's good to see some additional action on these boards here at 3FC - some familiar screen names are popping up in various threads - January seems to be when so many people look to get off on the right foot with weight loss - and I know this is the place to be for good, caring support. I hope more of our former compatriots check in - I miss them.

Best of luck on the PET scan report, Sue

And sorry about the sleep problems Tanklan and Loser13 - this is one problem I do not have - I can sleep anywhere, anytime. My problem is not getting enough sleep - I am a night person, yet I must get up in the AM... I have no good suggestions for you... except recent findings that you need darkness for good sleep - no glowing electronics on the bedside stand...

Today is hump day for the M-F world, but tomorrow is hump day for my weight program week - I am using Sunday morning Aria weigh in's as my 'official' ones. I think I am in it for the long haul...
ttfn,
cheryl

Is this real? Day 4, and per my Aria, I am down 4.9 lbs!! Am I squarely on the path with a path toward a return to a nice downward slope on my progress graph?

I am feeling more confident every day!!

This time I am recording in MFP - I know I need that habit for ongoing success, so I am trying to be religious about it now and build the habit.

I even joined a couple of Challenges on MFP that acknowledge the good habit of logging in the food diary.

This is a good start to the new year for me -- how is everyone else doing?

You're off to a great start, congratulations. Your determination is showing, and inspiring . Doesn't that first woosh feel great! You'll be back at goal in no time!!

I didn't use MFP when I started, in fact I've only been using it for the last 2 months, and of course we all know the diet works without having to track everything....but I sure wish I had started doing it sooner, there is so much information, and I know it will be invaluable going forward into maintenance

Hello IP 2014'ers!!!!!

It's fun to see some familar faces from when we were originally in the trenches together! I am cheering everybody on to keep on keeping on!!!!!

I was pretty happy to see the scale down 2lbs today...of course, I know it could easily creep right back up with something as simple as too much salt tomorrow, but made me happy anyway.

MFP is my all-time favorite, favorite, favorite tool for maintenance. I feel like I REALLY didn't start learning the tools for long-term maintenance until I start entering my food (I started in P2) and learning how to build a healthy meal by understanding what macronutrients made up my food.

Although I'm not doing P1, I also was awake at about 4am this morning. I do think it has to do with restricting my calories (or maybe too much caffiene?). When I was on P1 though, I has HORRIBLE insomnia for about the first two weeks. My understanding is that it is one of the side effects of ketosis.

Good luck everyone!!!!!

I am on day 7. So far so good. No hunger and feeling good. Bought some walden farms pancake syrup the other day and can't believe how good it is. Bought quest protein powder yesterday and am going to try pancakes. Assume I can do that with the protein powder.
I am having guests next weekend and somehow have to figure out how to stay on program and still give them a good time. Going to start planning for that. Hang in there everyone.

Evemomma - so glad to have you share your maintenance experiences with those of us who are still pursuing P1 goals! Thanks for coming back and for doing more than just lurking.

I have no problem sleeping anywhere, anytime, whether in ketosis or not... thank goodness! If I was having sleeping issues right now that would probably put me over the edge - got enough stress with the household medical challenges.

Largo - Let us know how your pancakes with Quest work out - I used the Quest PB today to make a dozen muffins - that's the easiest form for me - let the muffin tin shape the outcome, rather than trying for the right consistency for pancakes, or the right flat shape to make cookies.

For a breakfast thing that your guests might like, and that would still meet IP P1 guidelines, you could roast some mixed cauliflower, broccoli florets, chopped Lil Sweet peppers (red, orange, and yellow), mushrooms and some elephant garlic -- I use some olive oil spray, real salt, and pepper, and garlic & herb seasoning for flavor. Do this in a 9x13 casserole dish and roast 20-30 mins at 400 degrees. Then add beaten eggs and bake in same oven for another 20-30 mins. It's like a frittata - do two casseroles (divide in half or double) - a big portion for your guests with some shredded cheese added on top for that last 5 minutes. Serve with some bacon or sausage for them, and you just have it as it is. This makes a good dinner entrée for P1, served with a salad. If you can make your own salsa, can buy some without any sugar or other non IP compliant ingredients, that would be another option.

I do this at least once a week for myself on IP -- and I think it is super easy and very yummy. When not on IP I luxuriate with some added baby snow peas and some pine nuts.... nom nom

Thank you so much Oneuh2. I have actually tried that for my lunches and have been loving it. Would be good for breakfast. The first day they are here we are invited to a pancake breakfast. Not to worry I will take a bar. I have my fist meal planned. Roast pork, roasted veggies and potato scallop. No potato scollop option for me. Now will just plan another dinner. Lunch will be out. Will probably do steak with salad and turnip. They can have potatoes. The trick is the wine but I will just have to suck it up. I have started drinking LaCroix which is a carbonated drink 0,0,0. in a wine glass. Think I have this. I was on IP last year when they came and went off it for the weekend. I really don't want to do this, this time. Thanks for the suggestions.
