Linda - LOVE those pictures you shared on FB last night!!! OMG lady!!! You look fantastic and that class looks like so much fun! <3 Hope the scale was friendly to you this morning

I saw my chiropractor yesterday and got a foam roller to keep at home now. What a huge difference that makes to my sore quads. She also showed me / used a Ryobi sander on them. Yes, a sander, like you would use on wood or drywall It felt SO good!!!

It is a dreary, rainy day in the DMV, so I'll be hitting the treadmill & see how that goes.

BG = 78 this morning
Scale - 146.2

Beth, I mix up a little WF jam in my plain yogurt, for flavor and sweetness. Maybe you could try that instead of Stevia?

I had the PB2 on celery sticks yesterday afternoon for a snack. It was very satisfying, and I like that it was so few calories and carbs/fat.

I'm very discouraged. I'm 90% sure I have a stress fracture in my left tibia. When I tried to get back into running 10 years ago, I had repetitive stress fractures in that bone, and finally had to give it up. This time around, I was more careful about extra calcium, wearing good shoes, limiting my miles... but I have a tender, swollen spot right above my ankle, in the place where stress fractures commonly occur. I'm going to use the elliptical at the gym today, to avoid impact on that bone, then rest tomorrow, and I will still do the 5K on Saturday. I paid for it, and I'm doing it, even if I have to walk. I plan to see the doc next week if the pain/swelling doesn't subside, and I don't really expect it to. sigh

Weight is holding steady, right around 155, even though I've needed quite a few calories every evening. Last night I had a Quest bar, and then peanut butter an hour later, and then 10 almonds right before bed. I think in maintenance, I'm going to have to have a larger dinner meal than just 4 oz. protein and some veggies and a small carb. Might try 8 oz of protein and a LOT of vegetables.

ETA: Breakfast report.
My most satisfying breakfast, by far, has been an egg and cheddar cheese on an Orowheat whole wheat thin bun, + 1/2 c. yogurt w/ WF jam, + Six Star Fit shake w/ half a banana. I think the cheese on the sandwich goes a long way to make the whole meal flavorful and filling. This will probably become my most frequent breakfast meal.

Today I had 2 slices of French toast (Sara Lee Delightful bread, soaked in an egg and 1/4 milk) w/ WF syrup, + yogurt and WF jam, and 1/2 banana with 1 Tbsp. pb. The French toast was meh. I think it was because of the syrup, which doesn't have a lot of flavor.

Oatmeal in a jar is tasty and I will have it again, but it's all your nutrients in ONE dish, which can feel like a small meal if you usually enjoy having several different food items.

HIS - oh man - my heart is breaking for you I really hope its just swelling (tendon / ligament) and not stress fractures...is there anything you could do - maybe with the help of an orthotic (sp?) doctor - to add additional support to that area? My DH was looking into a compression wrap for my knee. I know you love to run...healing thoughts lady!

BethThank you so much! It is an absolute blast-unfortunately, the scale is up a lb. this morning- not sure if it is the muscles retaining the water? the IP premade vanilla I had when I got home -making a 4th packet to make up for the exercise? Do tell about the sander! Details, I have one and I'd love to know how you use it.
HIS I'm sorry about the tibia. I hope it's not as bad as you fear and you'll be able to make it through Saturday.
HIS and Beth You are making me drool!! I love you both posting about what you are eating. I am going to have to start copy/pasting them in to a doc so I will have easy ideas for when I finally decided enough is enough-lol- will I ever get there? I was reading this as I was beginning my lunch, almost green with envy. Somedays, like today, I like everything all together- other days I like a bunch of stuff-it's going to be nice to have that option.
Having a massage today after work-90 minutes of pure bliss and I can't wait. 1st one, since I lost all this weight. I can't get through the day fast enough!

HIS OMG I'm so sorry about your injury, sure hope it's not as serious as you fear. Take care till your doc checks it out. Sending good thoughts your way.

I have to echo what Linda said, I love reading the breakfasts you and Beth have been sharing (albeit just a mite enviously ) So nice at this late stage of my journey to have something to look forward to.
You've probably found this old thread, but in case not, here's a P3 one
http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/idea...ast-ideas.html

Beth, I have tried both the WF strawberry jam and raspberry jam. Both good. the other day I had some quest bread that I toasted and spread the raspberry jam on. ( you could probably do PB&J )

Yesterday I was out most of the day. I thought I'd be back mid-afternoon, but didn't get back till after 4. I had my big spinach shake before I left, and took a bar along, which I had about 1. I didn't have a chance to stop for lunch, but I wasn't really hungry, surprisingly.I should have been really hungry!
So when I got home I made a big salad with lots of veggies, since I didn't want it to fill me up too much - still had to eat dinner . Then for dinner, of course I wasn't very hungry yet, so I just had a bowl of cauliflower soup and 2 eggs, plus a bar to make up the protein.
I still had another packet to eat later, and had some pudding, but really could have skipped it.
Most days I can eat all the food I'm supposed to, I haven't really had any of those ravenous days, but I don't really feel overstuffed either. Yesterday was strange. Back to normal today though.
I'm starting to wonder though, it sure sounds like a LOT of food on those P3 breakfasts, and I've never been a big breakfast eater.

Going out to a play tonight, so an early dinner here before we go. Tomorrow we're out for dinner with friends, just a nearby place, and I know there are things on the menu I can have.

Aw ladies - I'm sorry

I went ahead and bumped the P3 breakfast thread and will remove them from our group thread...still available, but not in your face
trust me, I had days at the end, when I wanted to gnaw my arm off from hunger (probably the low blood sugar), where seeing someone posting about their P3 breakfasts could potentially have sent me over the edge.

Blue - I've never been a big breakfast eater either...but after the first couple days and figuring out how certain foods are going to effect me, I am enjoying the extra energy in the afternoons and evenings. Even getting up is easier - I am looking forward to a good, filling meal that carries me easily through to lunch. Everyone is different - maybe discuss this concern with your coach?
I'm jealous...we live near a DC and lots of great theater comes through. Unfortunately, DH isn't much into live theater. He said he would go see a Tyler Perry (Madea)...if he likes that, maybe it would open the door for more (fwiw - I could go, and would, but generally end up spending the money on my kids...or putting it away for their college)

Oh, my, I hope I didn't give you the wrong idea. I'm quite happy to hear your breakfast ideas here. I like hearing them! Feel fee to keep at it, both you and HIS and anyone else. I hope all us 2015ers will keep posting about our progress on this thread, no matter what phase of our journeys we may be on.
.... I just found that P3 link and since it was an old thread, thought that some of you might not remember it, probably lots of good ideas in it!

oh - absolutely no offense <3

1. Thank you for the reminder - honestly - it's actually a great thread with lots of wonderful ideas!
2. This keep all the various P3 breakfasts together for anyone lurking / looking - going through the "daily" chat threads can get cumbersome.
3. I feel like if we had an 'admin' still we would have been PM'd (or just told) to knock it off anyway...we have newbies / restarters / etc & this has kind of become the go-to thread for everyone P1.

Lol - you don't need to worry about me disappearing I'll just post the ooey-gooey detail over in the P3 breakfast thread

BTW - the additional fiber / carbs has helped the plumbing issues, without Miralax! I can't tell you how big of a relief that is...figuratively and literally

Beth I love reading these things- even if I get envious- it's another reason to keep my "eye on the prize" don't you think so too Blue? Thank you for posting that link also. I am, more recently, experiencing those bouts of extreme hunger that you have talked about. I am not sure because of my toying with the alternatives and baking with them, so adding in baking powder and stevia? not sure. Really weird thing happened yesterday afternoon right before I left work- out of the blue, I got really dizzy- not that lightheaded dizzy that you get if you stand up too quickly, but vertigo like dizzy. I was just sitting at my desk- it was freaky- Beth when you went through that "wonkyness'right before you decided it was time, did you have anything like that?

Too much Linda - it's was one of the symptoms I was having - that eventually progressed to the confusion / muddled thinking that scared the cr@p out of me & sent me into my PDoc.
Keep in mind, you exercised last night too and you may just need some extra calories to compensate for what you burned! It is such a fine line

I'm so sorry; I should have been more sensitive about posting P3 breakfasts in this thread. Thanks for bumping the other thread with breakfast ideas.

I picked up my 5K race packet today. I really, really want to do well at this event, and I'm so afraid that pain is going to limit me. The weather is predicted to be cold (low 40s), which is okay, but I'm not crazy about the high winds we'll be having - 25-35 mph!! Gosh, that'll slow everyone down.
The course is flat and on open terrain next to a river, so it'll be chilly out there.

I did 3.5 miles on the elliptical today at a pretty good pace. My leg was twinge-y but manageable. I bought compression socks and have been wearing them all day, trying control the swelling a little bit. The pain is almost non-existent when I walk, so I can at least do that. If it's really a fracture and I have to stop running for 6-8 weeks, I think I can get back to it and get a week of training in before that January 10K I'm signed up for. (They won't refund my money or transfer me to another race.) In the interim, I'll just have to row or swim or whatever I can do to keep my fitness up. I really have to figure out why this keeps happening in that leg. It's so aggravating.

I'm trying a few different things to manage hunger. The powdered pb on celery is a good afternoon snack. Tonight I had a huge salad, just lettuce and cucumbers, about an hour before dinner, and that seemed to blunt the hunger quite a bit. I'm also eating almonds (carefully counting out my allotment!) almost every afternoon or evening. I know that on this protocol, we're encouraged to "eat a king's breakfast, a prince's lunch, and a pauper's dinner," but the tiny dinner meal is just not working for me. Being hungry in the evening practically guarantees binge behavior for me. I have to find healthy things to make me feel FULL.

Beth/HIS - Thank you for your thoughts. I think once I am safely into the 140's I may start to incorporate the diabetic protocol or other additions during strenuous weeks. With the holiday coming up now I will mostly be stuck in the office and not in the field much. Hopefully after that I will break into the new decade! Haven't been there in quite a while!

I'm on board with Blue and Destony;I also don't mind reading about your breakfasts! I enjoy it as well. It's great to get tidbits on sort of what to expect in the near future. (Plus I get to live breakfast vicariously through you guys! lol)

HIS - I'm sorry to hear about your injury. It's frustrating when you have the will and something like that hinders you. I wish you a speedy recovery! I have an old foot injury that always seemed to rear up when I was making good progress with my running goals in the past. What really helped me though, was making a HUGE effort in improving my running form. I worked on it a while myself - you can definitely feel the difference, then took a running clinic where someone was able to specifically coach me on my form. It makes a dramatic difference with pace, breathing, and subsequently your muscle/joint health. It was difficult at first since I was basically re-training my body how to run 'properly'. After I got better my injury wasn't aggravated nearly as much. I'm sure that you're familiar with good form already, but I would definitely suggest when you're healed to check it out further to see if there is anything to work on. There are a bunch of free apps (I think one is called Coaches Eye, or something to that effect) that enable someone to record you running past and then break it up/slow it down frame by frame. It's a really great tool!

I'm going to throw my two cents worth in here- the way I look at this particular board-we're 2015 starters-approaching the holidays- a continuation of the February 2015 starters- So, that being said-we're a conglomeration of people who have started in 2015-all at various stages of the journey-so, no matter the stage-IMHO you should be able to post anything in here. Again, opinions are like belly buttons- everyone has one. I, personally, LOVE seeing the posts from people in P2, P3 and hopefully soon- P4(maintenance). For myself, I also find that I get overwhelmed by going to all the different threads trying to find stuff- and I feel as though this group has become my IP Family- and it grows and wanes (Frawnie, Lianna, Amber... but like family, they will probably wander through now and again (I hope) to give us updates and share their wisdom. Just my 2 cents worth-I, for one, hope that you will reconsider posting your GREAT meals and stuff on here.
HIS glad to hear that walking at least is ok for you. I hope that you are good to go for tomorrow!
Beth I did have a premade IP drink when I got home from the class the other night making 4 (which also happens to be the day that I had the "dizzies) Yesterday, I may have totally screed myself up- Breakfast was a Quest powder shake with some vanilla extract (1/4 tsp) and spinach, celery for mid morning snack, zoodles with WF marinara, a hard boiled egg and Quest salt and vinegar chips for lunch, afternoon snack a crispy bar, then for dinner after my massage was a salad with some tomato, onion, dill pickles and good seasons dressing- I only had about 5.75oz of chicken left to go on it, so I had a Syntrax nectar drink with dinner-to make sure I got what I needed for protein. I also looked at it as the massage was more like a workout- I let her do deep tissue and I was bound and determined to let her work everything out that she could- and can I say, this morning....most of my back feels as though it was run over by a bus-though this is not unexpected by me- I made myself handle the pain. So, we shall see....
Okay, my next question- where might I find a sheet on the diabetic protocol- I wonder if I could persuade DBF to give it a shot, with alternatives-he's a very stubborn Italian man, who loves his food-but I hate all of his medicines- and when we first got together, he said he didn't want to be like his dad who took about 20 pills a day- T is up to 11 I believe at this point...between bp, diabetes, stomach issues, etc....
I am so glad that it's Friday-AND just went in for my daily weigh in-held strong at 134 M,T,&W, then yesterday bounced up to 135 (the day after my hula hoop class) and this morning...133.8- GAWD!!! I LOVE THIS DIET!!! Well I must go, time to get ready for work- loving the fact that it is more manageable at work so that I can jump on here to see what's going on periodically throughout the day...It's my self reward for getting through things-lol- I do the same thing here at home when I am cleaning-
Have a GREAT Friday!!!! ♥ you all my 3FC/2015 Starter family

Destony - What you are describing happened to me with any physical exertion. We went on a golf trip in Feb that we had planned for months and I was so weak and had almost passed out on golf course. I was so dizzy. I kept doing IP and gradually started having cheat days for extra calories and then would go back to P1 to get weight off and when that didn't help with symptoms, I went and got a checkup by an internist that prescribes IP. Many of my labs came back abnormal so he immediately took me off the diet. It was scary and lasted for months. He believed that I did P1 for too long. I was at goal and didn't know it because I had an unreasonable goal weight. It was so easy to lose the weight up to that point, I thought I would just keep going. The reality is that I should have transitioned 2 months earlier. My current doctor, who is board certified in bariatric medicine, has told me that the brain is very powerful and will give clear signs. For me, those signs started 2 months prior with extreme hunger and my coach didn't recognize that this was my body's way to say enough is enough. I went from remodeling a house and crazy Christmas running around such that I wouldn't sit down all day for 16-18 hours and I'd get my 6-8 hours of sleep and feel so refreshed and start all over again the next day until I couldn't. So, I see you are questioning your goal weight so I just wanted to share that as food for thought because I would say your brain is feeding you clues.

HIS - sorry to hear about your injury. Walking doesn't sound like a bad idea compared to running with that

................. you all my 3FC/2015 Starter family
Well said Linda. We 2015ers, new and old, are all on this together, and we are like family, and I believe we all care about and are interested in each other's progress, problems, and achievements.
I think - like Beth said - the P3 thread would be a good resource for breakfast ideas, for anyone (now and in the future) to find info, maybe it should be more like the "what are you eating today" type of posts.
In this thread, I like hearing the trial and error, what you've tried and liked, or not liked, where the problems are... quite selfishly on my part, I admit, because it will help me once I get there!

Linda - 133.8!! You are getting so close! So exciting! Just a few lbs to go!
Sorry I don't recall seeing the diabetic protocol anywhere, but you could ask your coach for the sheet.

We went to a play last night, just a local thing. Each year, a group of lawyers in town put on a play as a fundraiser for various local charities. They do this every year.Surprisingly, they are very good. The play was funny, and touching, definitely a good time. We like to get to the "big city" a couple of times a year to see the Broadway type plays, but I have to admit, lots of the local area "little theater" productions we've seen have been really good too!

Well, I have a lot of things piled up today that have to get done. Out for dinner tonight, I'm looking forward to that, I've been there lots of times, so I know I should be OP without a problem.
