It just struck me as so funny because that's pretty much how I'm going to beat this thing! "One bite at a time!"
frawniemae - as usual, you crack me up!!!

For a leisurely breakfast, I have just enjoyed the recipe you shared this week for Salted Caramel IP Chocolatey Chip Pancakes -- first time I have made the pancakes with egg whites instead of just water - they were delish! thanks so much for sharing the recipe!!!

S/C/G: Reboot with 140 as my goal

Height: 5'4"

I'm trying to "get rid of" a few of my IP meals that I just can't hack. The tomato basil soup for one!!!! So last night for my snack I made a waffle out of it. My husband thought I was cooking a pizza since that is what it kind of smelled like when it was cooking. I let it get good and crusty in the waffle iron. Sliced it up like pizza slices. You know...it wasn't half bad that way!

The only thing I did different over the weekend (which usually is the case) is that I ate my snack at night instead of the afternoon (my week is extremely different from weekends, so the snack in the afternoon is better for me because I am in bed not long after my dinner during the week) Any insight from you all would be greatly appreciated...Thanks ladies and gents ...Lbj
Your ketostix are not going to show color on IP -- after a 5-6 weeks on IP the quantity of ketones is minimal and the small trace just does not show up anymore. At this point, you should expect some slower loss weigh in's -- those earliest weeks show nice heft losses for many IPeeps, and as the weeks go by, your reach a point where your body is adjusting.

Begin looking for an average loss of 10 lbs a month -- celebrate when it's more than that, and pat yourself on the back for sticking with your program when it's not.

Eating your snack in the afternoon vs evening makes no difference. Keep doing what you are doing - you will see that the program works as long as you work the program!!! Your results are excellent - hang in - you have more good results to come if you stay the course!!!

If you're feeling kinda flu-y you can totally blame that on the diet. Especially if you are a very carb-heavy diet right before starting IP. headaches, muscle aches, cramping, nausea and exhaustion are all signs of the body going into Ketosis. That's why they call is "carb flu". If you google "whole30 timeline" there's a day by day of how you can expect to feel doing a whole 30 (a lowcarb/high fat detox) and it has always mirrored pretty well how I feel when I start anything low carb.

This time around my day 3 "hit by a truck" feeling is reduced to "hit by a smart car", in part because I'm getting more carbs in via veggies (I'm a meat a holic when I do anything paleo) and I wasn't binging on bread and sweets in the days leading up to starting IP. I've got a headache, neck and shoulder soreness and I'm dragging my feet a bit.

Just keep going and in a few days you'll be better than normal.

Thanks! I def have all of the symptoms you mentioned. I also have major congestion and a cough. The last 2 could be because it's March and my friggin allergies are starting up. Sorry I'm cranky today! And I hate allergies!!! I'm off to Google the whole30 timeline. Hopefully tomorrow will be a batter day!! Thanks again.

Made it through day 1 and it was great! Hoping for a good day 2! Love reading everyone's stuff they have to say! It helps the motivation. I have a really hard time eating veggies, I have the worst taste buds!!! I'll just keep trying until something tastes good.

That sounds delicious!! I make flatbread out of the tomato soup - add 2 egg whites, seasonings, a little olive oil, and a teaspoon of baking powder. Spread it out in a shallow pan and bake at 350 for about 20 minutes.

Makes sense, no??
What is their reasoning behind the meal replacement idea? Other than making more money... or like I said, making it convenient for travel and tight work schedules. But we really should already be used to eating 'non-packet' food for lunch and dinner from doing P2, even if we have a busy life.

I'd fight that one if I were you. Show them the logic, and ask for their reasons.

Liana
Liana -- you are right -- i need to ask these tough questions and get to the bottom of this. Of course, i should be finishing P3 by the time i see my coach again, but i will post anything i learn here, hoping to clear up anyone else's confusion.

I had to answer this question though because I just started maintenance but when I was in Phase 3 my clinic told me it was now mandatory to have a meal replacement as one of your meals in Phase 3. This is new, which is why it isn't on the protocol sheets yet. I would say this has only been true for about a month or so. I didn't want you to think your coach was just trying to get you to spend money.
Thinkthin -- thank you for posting this! Makes me feel better in that i don't think I'm just making things up, but this new requirement, if that's really what it is, is a little troubling (for the reasons Liana stated). Are the P3 breakfasts just too much for most people? Too drastic an uptick? Too much too soon? So, did you do the once-everyday meal replacement packet for the whole two weeks of P3?

And has anyone else heard about this or know why the IP folks would make this a new requirement???

Looking for information Frawniemae posted a couple weeks ago about comparable vitamins to use instead of the IP vitamins. Anyone know where I can find that thread?

Hope everyone has a great OP day.

Good morning! Day four and I am feeling much better than yesterday- I actually spent the entire day in bed.
As far as the diet goes I am not hungry and am having an easy time changing my family dinners to be OP for me. I am not craving anything per say but I m noticing all the mindless eating I was doing before. Making meals for the kids I would have a slice of ham, a cheese doodle, sip of chocolate milk etc. all day long. For a minute yesterday I actually thought about putting a Cheese it in my mouth just to taste and spot out lol! I didn't and realized I have a snacking issue! I also want chocolate milk and the only time I ever drinkill is when I'm pregnant (which I'm not). I'm going to grab some chocolate shakes today to fill that craving.
Hope today is a great day for everyone!

Day two of my reboot and feeling good and positive. Concentrating on staying positive. I know that if I come here several times daily keeps me in a positive and motivated mind set. I work in a kitchen so focus is a struggle but I can do this. Hope everybody has an awesome OP day.

Everybody is doing fantastic
