IP 25 by Spring 2015 challenge
Please note
This challenge is only For active 3fc participants on the Ideal Protein plan. if I don't recognize you as a regular participant, I AM checking. The Ideal Protein 25 by Spring is up! This one runs New Years Day to the first day of Spring. Some of us want to drop a few lbs, some of us are remaining steadfast on or beginning our initial P1 journey, and others are rebooting. Whatever the reason, we can do it together! We can be 25 lbs lighter (or more) by the first day of spring! Let's get going (or keep it going)! Here are the rules. It helps to know how spreadsheets work. Please read all of the following: Click the link to request access. Access is NOT automated so be patient. You only need to request access to this challenge once. I'll send you an email asking for your 3fc screen name. After you reply to that email with the requested information, you will be granted access and notified by email (not right away...I have to do it manually from my laptop, it doesn't work from my mobile devices. Please only send ONE request. Sending multiple requests only fills up my email box. It doesn't get you approved faster). No one will see your email address except for me. I keep track of everyone on the list so when data disturbances happen, I know who to talk to or delete. During a previous challenge, someone kept changing/reformatting things & didn't respond to my requests to stop so I deleted them from the challenge. Last year, these challenges were "open" but trolls messed up the sheets too often so we had to "close" them & issue invitations <so sad people have nothing better to do in life>.:?: Be ready with your starting weight. No waiting for "next" WI. Just plug in your current weight. When granted access, put your 3fcscreen name on the next available row. (just click the first blank box in column A) Then tab over to complete columns B, C. Please don't add data to columns D,E,F,G (they're in color). They auto-calculate as you add info. Please don't sort or otherwise re-format the challenge. Data has gotten all mixed up/lost when that happens. Only type in the white spaces. Any columns that are highlighted with color will auto calculate. If your auto calculate doesn't work, just leave it be. I'll fix it. If you try to fill in missing numbers, I won't know the auto calculate isn't working. Current weight goes in the "starting weight" column. Use your current WI. If you joined late, just enter zeros in the WI columns that you missed. Please only request access if you actually plan on participating. A LOT of people requested access before and never participated. No lurking! Only active participants! This is a spreadsheet. Please make sure you know how to use spreadsheets before you join. Don't forget to bookmark so you can find the spreadsheet again! |

11 weigh ins. I don't average 2.5 lbs/week but I'm hoping for 20 lbs anyway.

I too am in! 25 pounds is a major portion of my remaining pounds to goal -- this challenge is a great way to start the new year!!
Once again, thank you so much for setting this up for us, Lisa -- you are a true leader in this Ideal Protein community -- I am not sure how we would fare without you! |

I'm In!
Went on IP 4 years ago and lost 20lbs. LOVED it so much! Kept it off until last year, after I lost my father. All of it back on :( So depressing. I am determined to look and feel like I used to. IP ALL THE WAY!! NO CHEATING!! :D
|
Request sent.
Thank you, Lisa. :) |
Thank you Lisa. Last challenge was my first, and very motivational!
|
I'm in! Looking forward to this! My first month is behind me, and I'm ready to move into 2015 weighing less (and feeling better) every month! This will be my first challenge, and I have no idea what to expect.

Thanks to many of you who have sent me public or private thank-yous. It warms my heart to know I'm helping others.
I've felt for quite a while now that I MUST pay it forward. Many came to IP 3fc prior to me and I learned from all of them. I learned enough to lose 95 lbs. I'm happy to report that although I'm rebooting, I have not gained all of my weight back (but at this rate, it would only take 2 more years :p) Instead, I now have the tools to again put obesity into regression, before I regain it all and return to morbid obesity. Mini goal #1 for me is to eliminate 17 lbs, which puts me back into overweight. Next goal after that will be to be back where I was, which will mean another -14. When I got there before, I was so disgusted that, due to medical reasons, I couldn't seem to get lower, that I couldn't enjoy the success I had experienced. I had a goal to go lower and my body just wouldn't do it. It didn't help that I encountered negativity and pressure from some people here in 3fc. Isn't it interesting that we allow a few negative comments to negate all the positives? I would SO LOVE to drop down to my initial goal, which was 150. But, I've learned that a big part of the journey is acceptance. So, my plan is to return to where I was and then to spend 2015 learning to maintain. If, along the way, my body chooses to cooperate and go lower, then I'll accept that with open arms. If it chooses to stick with a maintenance weight higher than I would prefer, I'm going to see it as a lesson in acceptance. After all, I've abused my body for years. Maybe I should just give it a chance to heal. Thanks for being on this journey with me. |
Lisa...I read this thread just to hear how you are doing. You have been a great inspiration for me and are full of good advice.I like to see how all the oldies are doing because weight loss is a long term commitment both to lose and to maintain. You are beautiful as you are and if you are a few pounds above your goal weight you are still beautiful.I think your approach is very sensible and you should be proud of your accomplishments.I did not do IP but followed an IP like program to lose weight.I did not use packaged foods but used low carb vegs and protein foods.I also used whey protein powder for breakfast and found it seemed to satisfy my hunger and hold me till lunch.Best of luck for the new year and you seem to have it put together quite well.

Back in for this challenge (but not to lose 25, lol) - to help me stay accountable in my maintenance weight.
Thanks again Lisa! |
IM IN!!! First day of spring is the week of my birthday so this challenge will assist in keeping me focused for my mini goals.
Thank you for your time and dedication to 3FC, IP, and all of us who look to you for advice! |

We have such popular challenges, EVERYONE wants in!
Reminder: This is a challenge for those who are ACTIVE on the Ideal Protein plan forum. |
I just finished posting my starting weight for this challenge - it's from my weigh in on Tuesday 12/30.
This is exciting - more than 45 of us have signed up with Lisa and she has the sheet ready to go! I noticed that quite a few of us have not yet posted our starting weight -- be sure to go to the spreadsheet and 'queue up at the starting post'!!!! |
Thank you so much Lisa for setting up this new challenge- I believe these challenges have helped me plenty, and I'm able to go back to them and see my progress- This will be the third challenge I'll be joining, my WI is this coming Wednesday, I can't wait to start!! The challenge will end the week of my birthday, it will be the best present ever to reach my goal and move on to phase 2!!! Thanks again Lisa everything you do to help us reach our goals is very appreciated it!

So happy to be a great part of this. I slid through December, happy not have gained. Actually lost just over 2#, but am rededicating myself to being OP. I lost 32# and 26" in my first challenge, Labor Day to Thanksgiving. So I know I have the ability... Now to find the focus once again.
|
Wow! We already have our first WI!
Fantastic. I'll be doing WI Wednesday :) Oh, and a note for people trying to join. Read the directions/rules carefully. They say: This challenge is only For active 3fc participants on the Ideal Protein plan. if I don't recognize you as a regular participant, I AM checking. These challenges take some work and going back and deleting people who drop out is also work. So, I'm making this for our IP forum participants only. If you're new (or returning), jump into the discussions & be sure to introduce yourselves. Everyone is welcome :) |
