Mct (coconut) can help with ketosis, definitely won't hurt only glucose can stop ketosis (excess protein and to many carbs). Some research has shown the body to be able to have both ketones and glucose in the body at same time primarily with dementia patients. As a therapeutic treatment for them. Mct convert to ketones directly in liver, other oils don't do that. The are good for quick energy bump or other keto bonking issues.

Not that much calorie different. Assuming 2 tbsp daily is taken the increase of 20 calories likely exist naturally within food variations with the diet program anyways. Seems pretty insignificant to me. |

It's interesting that you should add the Kerrygold Irish butter, wylothar. I use that on my salmon, on pancakes and it hasn't held my loss back at all. I have a simple rule - keep the portion small and don't do it every day.
I am also a massive fan of organic virgin coconut oil - but never considered using it instead of EVOO. Good point, thanks for the information updates! :) |

I'm not normally a sweetened drink person, but occasionally I like something other than water so I tried some sparkling seltzer water with a few drops of a flavored water enhancer. I think most grocery stores carry different brands with many different flavors. Again, be careful to make sure it isn't sweetened with aspartame and don't drink too much as seltzer water has some sodium so could possibly cause some fluid retention.

I bought some quest bars to supplement my IP products. I'm not sure if I messed up and bought the wrong thing...I bought the new S'more bars because they said that they had 4g net carbs. Well after eating one I have realized that they should be restricted because of calorie content for sure, but I'm also thinking because of carbs. They have 23g carbs, 13g fiber, 1g sugars, and 6g erythritol (not even sure what that is!). I wanted a bar that I could use as unrestricted... I guess I will keep some of these around for emergencies and give the rest to my daughter. Thoughts?
