I know it's available for pre-order for NOOK---but not out till 4-21-15.

I got mine at amazon.com and glad I can highlight the pages :)

Or maybe you can inter-library a copy? I couldn't find it thru my library.

I think for me the issue will be laziness in measuring my foods.... I am in maintenance and still at goal range, but I can see this as being a possible future problem. I wonder if it has been that way for others who have regained. You may be eating the right foods still, but at what portion sizes??? The Cheat day/meal hasn't been an issue for me, and I usually do P2 after, although I sometimes just go back to eating proper maintenance. Seems to have worked so far. Keeping this all in mind, though, we will always have to watch - people who have been fit and slim throughout their lives do it without really consciously thinking about it, but if you have ever gained weight, it does mean you have to stop and think about your choices. I think it just will take less time and argument between your logical brain and your emotional brain (if any of that makes sense :dizzy:) than while you were losing and learning.

Maintenance worked great for me for the longest time. I think unfortunately I went back to my old habit of just plain eating crappy..... which stinks since I had done so well for almost a year. I loved being at 170ish lbs.....it seemed to agree with me. I want to be there again and STAY THERE.....for GOOD!! I'm getting too old to be so wishy-washy!!!:dizzy: I pray that THIS time when I reach maintenance I'll get it RIGHT!! ;)

Best wishes!!

Starting all the way over

Hello all,

I lostill 48 lbs early last year and gained it all back I'm ashamed to say. I'm starting over but I feel like I forgot everything from when I was on ideal. I had some great tips and tricks and multiple little recipes that I didnt document and am now drawing a blank.

Would love some ideas for getting back on the wagon. For example, breakfast I'm struggling with since my protein will probably be eaten at dinner time. Is everyone, just doing shakes for breakfast? Welcome any and all ideas and look forward to being back on this great site for support and motivation.

WELCOME!!

Are you doing IP with a clinic or alternative foods that mirror IP? If no clinic, be sure to get the newest phase 1 sheet linked in the first post of every Daily a Chat.

My bfasts are occasionally shakes, often pancakes, waffle, muffins all made with IP or alternative packets, eggs and veggies (one whole egg and three egg whites to equal an IP packet), cereal, oatmeal. Once in awhile I have a bar if in a big hurry.

Thanks for posting this. I'm almost dine with a reboot, just a few more pounds. This is my second reboot. I phased off the last one when my scale was below 150 (was 149.6) and it never saw below 150 again.

DH and I had a talk the other day about going forward. He and I both like to eat out. We've always done it - he used to work from 2 - 8 Monday thru Saturday at a liquor store, so Sunday was our only day together. Now he's out of work, so we were sometimes going for pizza on Friday, bar food Saturday and Chinese on Sunday with ice cream, wine or hard cider sprinkled in there too. So, I'm going to make my lunches ahead, to make sure I have something for work- that way I won't be as likely to make it a three day indulgence weekend. We won't go out to eat as often, and when we do not go off the rails. Especially with crap food - a nice restaurant.

I also need to keep in mind how much this rebooting stinks. I miss my food! I keep thinking of increasing my goal, but changing my mind the next minute.

I'm back too!

I also maintained for about a year. Gained about 30, lost it. Now I'm up about over 40. I'm so frustrated with myself! I thought I "had maintenance down pat"! But I got sloppy. When I look back I think my "one cheat day" started to get extended to a FEW days a week! GRRR!! I am FINALLY realizing that I will ALWAYS have an issue with food, and that I MUST monitor it ALL THE TIME....FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!!
I had resisted going back on IP for a long time because I remembered being soooo tired of the same ol' food selections (alternatives). I decided to "suck it up", as this program is the ONLY diet that seems to show results (and faster than any other). I've been back 5 weeks (down 16 so far), and I FEEL ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!:carrot:

I need to remember how crappy I felt just 5 weeks ago. I have to remember how when sitting on the couch I used to put a pillow on my lap because otherwise I'd see my ROLLS! EWWE!! These things I remind myself of DAILY because I don't want to feel that way EVER AGAIN!

Also, I think it's important to mention that when I was contemplating starting over again, one of my fears was having to do P1 after my "cheat day"....and I just squirmed at the thought of what I had to eat that 1 or 2 days following a
cheat day! THAT ALONE deterred me. HOWEVER..... since my last time on IP alternatives, there have been many welcome YUMMY food additions!!:carrot:

I don't think we had Quest Bars back then. And there are a few yummy items from HealthSmart and Weight Loss Systems this time around too!! :cb::cb:

I'm looking ahead to maintenance thinking ....."oh yeah, with these additional foods I KNOW I can do Phase 1 easily and not feel deprived"!! :carrot:

We can all do this.....and learn from what we have all already gone thru....and come out on TOP this time!! :dancer:

Best wishes and welcome back!!

4 perfect days down and 10 pounds GONE...ladies! I can't believe after doing so well in maintenance for over 3 years, that the last 10 months got the best of me. I feel re-energized! Back to Onederland...whew! I swore I would never leave it and I did for 3 short months, but never again (I hope). Now to get back to my nice size 8, guessing 25 pounds. I can do this! And on the positive I am still down 50 pounds of my original loss.

How are you doing? Are you in a current reboot? Is that your current weight? If so we are the same (I am 1 pound higher)...so let's get our butts back to the 170's!

LOL......I haven't been as good as you at the maintenance game! I maintain for a year, slowly gain (and later wonder why I didn't reboot at 180 instead of 200), then reboot again......which is where you're finding me now (currently at 198 lbs...weigh in is tmr...fingers crossed)!! I REALLY REALLY hope and pray that "I got it" this time.....after losing then gaining TWICE! Grrr!

I can't wait to get our butts back into the 170's.....or 160's!! ;)

WE GOT THIS!!!:carrot:

How did your weigh-in go? After my initial drop I made it to 199 (that was 10 pounds) so I am behind you a little. My goal is to hit 180 by Thanksgiving and then 170 by Christmas and hopefully 155 by my cruise in February. Why so slow? I am taking breaks...why because that is how I learn to maintain. When I did this before I was so successful. I need to remember not to be 100% off. When I take little breaks and get back on I learn that is how I keep it off. Here is my plan:

Between now and Thanksgiving...100% on with food, except I have 3 nights planned to drink few glasses of wine, which I will exchange out for the bar (fewer carbs, but more calories, plan to exercise more those days).

Taking Tues-Friday of Thanksgiving week to follow Atkins so that I don't come out of ketosis.

Then from Saturday after Thanksgiving for 3 weeks 100% phase 1.

Then phase out for 10 days

Then I will take 2 weeks in maintenance (phase 1 days every 3-4 days)

Then after New Year I will do phase 1 100% for month of January.

I will phase off first two weeks of February. Third week is my cruise.

Week after cruise, phase 1 and then hopefully maintenance again (starting hopefully 15 pounds less than the first time)

Down another 3!:carrot:

That's a great plan you have!! I'm just taking it day to day right now. I've had cocktails a few times (with no direct correlation to higher/lower weeks of weight loss.... so it seems anyway haha!).....SoBi water and vodka....YUM!!! I also have a 4 day weekend getaway to Disney in November! :wizard: Hoping to be in my size 14 shorts by then lol! The first time on IP I went away for a week, went off plan completely, then came right back on and continued weight loss. Since this is a quick trip I'm probably going to do Phase 2 with "extras ;)" here and there! Next trip won't be until Apri, so hoping I'll have been in maintenance for a month or two at least by then! :carrot:

Seems soooo much easier this time around.....I'm just not feeling deprived like in the past! This is so doable with more food options available!!:dancer:

I admire your new goal of 155!:carrot: I'm going to stick with a goal of 165 and see how I'm feeling.......170 seemed to be where my body landed after all the phases and I was happy. But oh to see 155!!!!:goodvibes That would be AMAZING!! YOU GO GIRL!!! :cheer:

Hi everyone.

I lost my weight on Ideal Protein about 2-3 years ago. Since then, life has been somewhat of a roller-coaster. I haven't gained back all of my weight. But I was at 150 and now I am at 180. I am disappointed in myself and feel ashamed to have gained some of my weight back.

I am finding it harder to focus, but I really want this. I have a vacation coming up at the end of November and want to be as close to 155/160 as possible. I know if I "buckle down" and focus I could easily lose 20 pounds by the end of November.

I was wondering if anyone has any tips of encouragement or ideas to accelerate weight loss while on IP?

Thank you and I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Welcome back! Many of us are on another IP journey, you're in good company :)

As far as accelerating the results....having done IP once before you know that it already works faster than most other diet plans. The only way to ensure you get the most losses out of the program is to stick to it 100% - no deviations, no cheats. Other than that there's not much that can be done to make it faster than it already is!

I had a "few" glasses of wine last night (3 carbs per glass and I didn't have a bar so that swapped out the carbs okay). I only want to get to 155 because I want to weight around 170. I tend to gain about 7-8 pounds during full phase off. So if I get that low, hopefully I can maintain below 170 even during vacations. Size 14? What size were you at 170? I am currently a loose 12. At 170, I wore a 6, but I have had a tummy tuck so I think that keeps the size smaller.
