Congratulations! IP works! Keep up the great work.
|
I started IP on June 25 and tomorrow is my first weigh in! This morning, I stepped on my scale at home and if it's correct, I've lost 6 lbs in 6 days! Of course, tomorrow will be the true test. I have been hungry but I find the hardest thing is giving up the bad habits I've acquired over the years. I pray I don't return to those habits and am glad for the support everyone has for one another!

Goodbye June, Hello July!!
Hope everyone's weigh-ins went well. Those first few weeks of big losses are great. Now it is slow and steady wins the race.
I am done crying in my wine glass, stalls your weight loss by 2-3 days so not worth it unless it is a damn fine glass of wine! Lesson learned. 2-3 days is roughly 32-48 dollars in IP packets less for alternatives. That is an expensive two glasses of wine. Just sayin'! |

I am am a tea lover and going that up has been the hardest and that triggers headaches. I asked my coach and he said we can't have any other teas as well. I read here that so many are trying the herbal teas and detox tea... Is it allowed in phase I? I know we can have the optional tea with sweetener and low fat milk.... I am trying to avoid that too. But if I can I would like to have my cup of tea in the evening and some herbal at night. What say you?

Just made my first batch of cauliflower rice. Delicious! I definitely recommend it.

I've been on IP for 3 weeks now (I started on June on 10). I've lost 16 pounds to date (I lost the first 6 pounds the week before I started…I went low carb while I was waiting for my IP packets).
I'm currently going to an IP clinic close to my house, although I might switch to Alternatives in the next few weeks. $89+ every week for packets alone is starting to take a toll. That said, there are several IP packets that I am very fond of including the potato puree, southwest curls and crispy cereal. The potato puree is very indulgent! I have found that I am very sensitive to going off-plan…I bloat up 2-3 pounds and it takes several days to come off. (I went off plan the first week because I had an outdoor concert. Anyway, I look forward to using the group to keep in touch and stay motivated! |
Hello everyone,
I started following the IP diet using alternates on June 29, 2014. I did IP a while back and was successful but I struggled with the cost. This is my third day on plan so far using alternatives. I've placed an order this morning on the Nashua site. I love this site and following all the great progress and helpful hints. Keep them coming I'll need all the help I can get. |

I started June 12th and had a WI today. Down 3.2 lbs!! Total of 10 lbs lost since I started!!! Yay!!!! :)
|
first mini goal met today!
exactly one month from IP start and I hit the 20lb lost mark. Very impressed with this diet. Has motivated me so much. Hasn't changed my physical appearance yet or helped me to get back into my jeans BUT i have the motivation to see what next month brings, and the month after that, AND the month after that.
wishing all the JUNE starters are feeling this motivation too. |
Yay for all who have lost weight and will continue to do so! My weigh in is Friday and I'm really looking forward to it :)
|
Has anyone used the Zoku slush/shake maker? It's wonderful. I have been using it with IP drinks-makes a slushy or granita in a few minutes.

I'm a June Starter!
I started three weeks ago, and am down 17 pounds and 10 inches!
I wrote an article about how I started my journey with some tools I am using: Why I started my weight-loss journey on vacation. Do any of you have some tips and tricks you can share? Best, Jessica :carrot: |
Another June starter
Hi all,
I started June 16th and am down 10 lbs so far, yay! In the last few weeks I had a work trip to NYC and family in town visiting so it has not been easy but I have stayed OP. Seeing weekly results has kept me motivated. I find the program fairly easy to follow in my daily life when I can make my own salads and dinners but restaurants have been challenging. I also walk a lot so that is helping as well. My goal is a total loss of 50lbs by my bday in November. Good luck to all the June starters and everyone else who is following the program, we can do it!! |
Checking in with 5.5 lbs lost in Week 1
My IP center is closed for 4th of July so my first weekly WI is from home. Down 5.5 lbs and feeling good!
For each 5 pounds lost, I wear a new pinup dress. I'll post a photo of my first dress later today! :cheer2: |
Pinup - I plan on following your success. You started with about 10 pounds more than me but you are the same age as me so I'm really looking to have you as the person that challenges me and motivates me to keep losing the weight I need to lose.
Thanks, Michelle |
I'm very happy today. My first WI and I have lost 5.4 lbs!!! Yippie!!! However coach said that in the next weeks expect 2 to 3 lbs of weight loss. Regardless I'm happy losing even 1 lb. coach said after week 1 of phase 1 I can start exercising so I'm hoping that will help with more weight loss or atleast losing some inches.
Anyways I am so happy! And I look forward to keep dropping these lbs and get to my goal Goodluck to everyone and congrats to all that are trying their best! This site is so awesome as I have experimented with the IP packets and have liked the outcome |

I love this plan! :dancer: |
Today was my first official weigh-in and I lose 8.5 pounds. I'm so excited because I'm using alternatives this time around and I still lost more weight this time then when I was using 100 percent IP products the first time. I'm trying new vegetables especially now that I've learn how to cook and purée them. Thanks everyone for all you wonderful insights and advice it has helped me transition into eating healthy and I feel like I will be able to continue to maintain this type of eating style for the rest of my life. :dancer:

Today is my 14th day and so far I've been 100% OP. Yesterday was rough though as we had a neighborhood party and it was HARD to watch people drinking and looking at all the yummy food and no be able to indulge. Someone had signed up to bring a veggie tray but it was no where to be seen and there was not one single thing I could have. It was all junk food. But I had brought my own food and sparkling water with lime wedges and made it through. The biggest reward was when I hopped on the scale this morning and checked my blood sugar...lowest its been since I started IP. :carrot: Looking forward to my WI tomorrow morning and another loss! Good luck to everyone. Stay on plan!! |
Hey June starters, I started June 10th. My wife and I have our 3rd weigh-in tomorrow. I am pretty stoked as I transitioned myself into Phase 2 last Tuesday and I can see going onto Phase 3 pretty soon. So much easier when both of us are doing it together.
|
How is everyone hanging in there? Down a total of 9lbs since 6/23 and looking forward to another loss on Mon. :)
Yesterday was a tough day for me with a bunch of goodies at work. It was the first time I felt like I was missing out. My coach has been texting me this morning with words of encouragement but I think I'm passed the worst of it. This weekend I am dropping my DD off at summer camp a couple hours away. Usually that would be my drive through opportunity. Will need to plan my trip and pack a cooler. Stay OP this week peeps! |
I started IP on 6/25 and have lost 10 lbs! I have been 100 per cent OP and feel fantastic! I'm so thankful for this program and am looking forward to "meeting" a lot of new friends on this site!!:)

Congrats fellow June starters! I see several of us started at the same time! I did well my second week -- I had one "slip" where I had lunch at a Sizzler. I filled my plate with lettuce and sprinkled some fresh mushrooms, bellpepper and raw onion on my plate. I asked the server what kind of vinegar was available to go with the oil for oil and vinegar and she said "Malt". Since that wasn't balsamic or redwine I used it (maybe a tablespoon) and then for the next 36 hours was hungry and tired. Wow. I'm a little bitter that a few drops of vinegar impacted me, but I guess that's how it works. Congrats everyone on your successful shrinking-journey!
|
Malt vinegar is similar to wine vinegar but made from ale instead.
Malt vinegar, also called Alegar, is made by malting barley, causing the starch in the grain to turn to maltose. Then an ale is brewed from the maltose and allowed to turn into vinegar, which is then aged. It is typically light-brown in color. That's probably why you reacted so strongly to it. |
Fellas, tomorrow is my week 2 weigh in. I was doing soooo good but i slipped yesterday and ate a potato samosa :o .... I'm beating mysel up so much for that! On a positive note, I joined a gym and did an hour today. Hopefully that will help speed up the weight loss . Can't wait for tomorrow ! Wish me luck :)

Congrats on your success so far! Are you having a hard time eating all of your food in the day? I started on the 6/29 and for the last few days I've lost my appetite in the evening and I'm having to force myself to my dinner. |

Today marks one month since I started Ideal Protein. 15 lbs lost and hopefully never to be found again!!!!
WI 1: 5.8 lbs WI 2: 1.2 lbs WI 3: 3 lbs WI 4: 5 lbs What is crazy is that during week 2, I was trying to incorporate some exercise videos and I really think that stalled the weight loss. Week 3 I went walking for about an hour for 4 days and week 4 I haven't been as active. |
My coach told me walking only and not to work out. Calories are so restricted that I would begin burning muscle in addition to fat. She said she can always tell who is working out just by looking at their numbers.
