First day today. Had herb omelette for breakfast . It was ok but filling. I miss having tea in the morning. It says on the sheet optional we can have tea. Does that mean either tea or the IP breakfast? Or I can have both?

For lunch had two cups of cucumber and the chocolate wafer. Yummy!!!! For dinner I'm fixing a chicken breast. I am used to Indian cooking and have never baked. This one will definitely be a challenge!

You can have your tea and your breakfast IP pack, Bull. Just don't get too carried away, lol or you will need to drink extra water to counteract the caffeine ;). The optional part is the tiny bit of milk in your tea if you drink it that way, no sugar though - only stevia or splenda. There is a thread called Indians on IP but you may have to look several pages back to find it - I have posted a bit on there and there are some good recipe ideas too for some Indian style IP ok'd food.

Week 4 and going strong!

I began week 1 on June 4. I have tried a lot of diets and have always been one of those people who loses a half pound at a time, in a good week. As of my third IP weigh in, I have lost 12 pounds! And I feel great! I have been able to attend social events and eat out without deviating from the protocol.
Have others planned for vacations?

napagirl - welcome and congrats on the great losses! That is outstanding! And hooray for being able to navigate your social events successfully, it took me a while to get the hang of doing that.

There have been several vacation planning threads lately that were full of great ideas - there was one about Disneyworld planning that was super. I bumped that and the road warrior threads for you - so many good tips!

Thanks liana. I think I will have tea every other day. Will try it without milk and just use the sweetener (tiny bit).. Can I have this tea in the evening instead of morning because that could stop the head aches for me.

Day 2 - was anticipating a headache but so far I'm good. I'm just concerned about my routine now that it's summer holidays. we wake late so breakfast is also late which pushes lunch and dinner too. Would this effect me when school begins and the timings for breakfast changes from 11am to 8:30 am? And for lunch and dinner too.

Last night I had a headache and did not feel well. Not that I was hungry I think the chocolate wafer caused it. Could it be the sugar rush? Or my body missing the tea.

Bull, I just know the first few days are tough for your body to adjust (getting all the carbs and sugars out and switching over to an alternate energy source aka burning fat). I don't think you got a sugar rush from any IP foods - including the chocolate wafer (it only has 5g of sugar in it after looking up the nutrition). I was really 'foggy' and tired the first few days. I just went to bed early so I wouldn't be attempted to graze. Since that initial period wore off, I feel great.

I drink tea in the afternoon some days and have a sleepy time tea I drink at night every now and again. I don't drink tea in the morning, and I don't think that using more morning tea allotment for an afternoon or night tea is a bad thing.

Hi there! I started IP on 6/23 and have my first weigh in tomorrow.

It is so great to find other people following the same plan! Week one has been better than expected although day one ended with tears wondering what in the world I'd gotten myself into. Subsequent days have been better and I never seemed to hit that wall I was warned about....which makes me wonder if I've been doing it right all week. :?: Guess I will find out tomorrow.

Spent much of the week looking for recipes online which is how I found this site! Can't wait to share experiences and support each other.

Just a little reminder for tea drinkers :coffee2:, there are all kinds of herbal teas that are OK for IP'ers too. Some of my favourites are Apple Cinnamon Spice, Black Cherry Berry, True Blueberry, and at night - Sleepytime Vanilla. Those are all Celestial Seasonings. I also like Licorice Spice, and Lemon Ginger by Stash Teas. The licorice spice is like very strong black licorice Nibs and also helps blood sugars - my DH was told about it by our MD. You might want to check that one out with your pharmacist if you take any meds as it can react with some things or be contraindicated in some health problems.

Just went through detox

I started last Friday (June 27) and my coach told me to expect withdrawal symptoms over the next 3 days (hunger, headaches, fatigue). I experienced some mild detox symptoms on the 2nd day but hopefully I'll be in ketosis today!
