Hi Bull: Hang on, you will learn how to deal with these 'difficulties' with practice. A good idea is to think about these occasions beforehand and make a plan - take a little jug with your sparkling water & Mio, bring your snack IP packet, bring a veggie platter. There are all kinds of ideas to deal with the issues. Even if you make sure you are seated away from the food serving area, or helping out with the kids to keep your hands busy, whatever. If you are going to a restaurant, check out the menu ahead of time and phone up & ask if they can do a 'naked' protein like chicken breast or steak and a large side salad or vegetables (not peas, corn, or carrots) without toppings or sauces.
Liana Just pick yourself up, learn from the experience and move forward one step at a time. |

Good morning June IP'ers.
I am in midst of my 4th week. I feel fantastic. Down 12.4 lbs and 16 inches lost (all over measurements). Even went to family and work picnics and stayed clear of the food lines. I brought my own salad and IP product for one/another I made spanish cauliflower (to share as well). Have eaten out several times and ordered to IP standards. So we maybe restricted but not restricted enough that you can still get out and enjoy outside life! :) One small pub we have near home does not serve any sort of "health food" So I got them to make me items from their pizza choices. Lettuce, grilled chicken, green peppers, mushrooms and raw onion. ***I have learned..no matter what, YOU can make this work! |
sdhinds, you have such a great and positive attitude! Congratulations on your losses and keep it up!! I agree that we can make this work!! I went river tubing for a three hour trip one Saturday after starting IP and brought my BBQ Crisps and some PowerAde Zero in the ice chest and had a great day and stayed OP. It would have been very easy to cheat that day, but I stuck with it and it feels good when you know you made the right decision.
What is Spanish cauliflower? |
Good morning everyone.
I started my Ideal Protein journey on June 25 and so far I'm really enjoying it. On my third WI I was down 13 lbs which is super exciting for me. I'm 24 and have been overweight since I was in high school and I'm finally able to see a light at the end of the tunnel. I still have a long way to go but IP is making my journey a lot easier. I've been reading a lot of the posts and they're all extremely motivational and help me through a lot of my questions. It's reassuring knowing that others have similar questions. |
Thank you!
*my next challenge is figuring out what I am going to do with vending at the home Iowa Football Games (have to do it for our HS prom earnings and I am one of the committee members so I have to be there) *we can't bring food or drinks in. I will be there 5am till 5pm. will have a shake before going..but once there..idk. Going to ask my coach Spanish "Rice" 1 T olive oil 1 1/2 c grated cauliflower 1/4 c diced pepper 1/2 leek, diced 1/2 tsp. chili powder 1/2 tsp . paprika 1/2 tsp. cumin pinch of sea salt 1/8 tsp. onion powder 1/8 tsp. garlic powder 1 packet Goya Sazon Heat oil in skillet over medium heat. Saute peppers until beginning to soften, about 1-2 minutes. Add leeks and cook another 1-2 minutes. Add grated cauliflower and spices and saute for 5-10 minutes or so, until all the spices are distributed and it looks like an even color. |
Thanks for the recipe! I will definitely try it because I am a cauliflower lover!!!
I have the same problem. My baby brother plays for Mississippi State and I'll be going to a lot of games this year because this is his Senior season. I honestly haven't thought about it, so thank you for posting this to get my mind working on it!! Maybe we can stuff some bars down our pants!!!!!!!! |
Kissi-I tried to send you a PM but looks like I have to post more to reach that level LOL. This is what it said..and sorry to blow up this posting site for all.
Sending you a private message so I can remember who I talked to about football games. I am going to ask my coach on Monday (WI day) then I can report back to you on her thoughts. Some times will change for me due to different game times and I can work with that too. At least they have water on hand...just not sure how often I can escape to use the RR ugh..this is supposed to be easy. ha ha. :carrot: :cheer: congrats to your lil brother..that is awesome. I wish I had family playing cause I love going to the games! |
I tried to initiate one with you, so maybe you got it. Football games will definitely be interesting. Tailgating will also be interesting. Our entire family is very proud of the baby bro - he isn't much of a baby anymore, being 6'5 300 lbs. :gasp: A lot of his weight is muscle mass but as an OL he has to have it to get his job done!

Got it...still need a couple more posts to even respond. Thanks..I have you in my messages with you talking to me anyway. :)

Ready to start the new week? My weigh in is tomorrow morning and am hoping for a bigger loss than my 2.4 last week.
I stepped up my water big time this week and saw a drop of 4lbs on my home scale through Sat. Was pretty excited about my upcoming WI but after I had a physically strenuous day Sat and slacked off on the water I saw an increase of 1.5lbs this morning. I suppose this is why my DH keeps telling me not to weigh everyday so I don't torture myself with the number on the scale. Hope everyone had an OP week! |
I have a weigh in today, 1st in two weeks (on plan since 6/10). Dressed and fed I think I will be at my goal of 185. Going by my home scale and weighing first thing in the AM I am 1 pound away from the goal in my sig. I have my 40th high school reunion on August 1st, I weighed 175 in high school so I am pretty pleased. Just as exciting, my wife has been OP also (her idea in the first place) and she looks fabulous.

New Here
Just found this support group since my link to my daily video from Ideal Protein is not working this am. I have a lot to lose but so far so good. I am down 15 Lbs in just under 5 weeks now. I feel very in control. I am looking forward to hearing all the good and bad that people on this program a while have to offer.
