Old cheese?? Ha ha!

I used to love cheese but found out I am lactose intolerant and that put a stop to that. Since I live in TX, Tex-Mex food is a way of life here and chips and salsa are very popular. For now, I am going to continue my food journaling because it's a good habit to have. I used MFP when I was doing paleo and it was very helpful. I'll go back to that in maintenance as well.

I can't drink milk but I can eat cheese bwahahaha! and plain yogourt since most of the lactose is already predigested by the enzymes in those foods.

Aha! I see now what you mean by "old" cheese. Aged. OK. Maybe I will give those a try once I get to maintenance.

Lisa: I found the Premier Protein shakes with 21 g protein in the can at Trader Joes. They are $1.99 each. Bought one each vanilla and chocolate.I've had the higher gram protein ones and I like them both. Also found the PP snack shakes w/100 cal & 18 g protein at Sam's (similar to Costco). 18 ct for $19.50. Sweet deal. I like the chocolate EAS Carb control but not a big fan of the vanilla.

Thanks. That other picture was over 3 years old.

Be careful of that one. It is more than 30% fat.
I'd use it as a super restricted (only once weekly). Most IP restricteds are still under. 30% fat. Not all quest bars are equal.

Thanks I didn't see that on this one. All the others I bought were under 30 percent fat. I'll have to be more careful in the future.

To be quite honest I've never food journaled on IP, EVER. Sounds like I will need to start though especially as I change phases, I really want to succeed and if journaling helps, I'm all for it.

Thanks Catlady for sharing the promo code. :) I too like your picture. :)

Alternative "table"

Has anyone put a chart or table that actually lists the IP products and the corresponding name of the alternative?

I journal everything. Food, daily thoughts, boring dear diary stuff. So I'm in the habit.

Thanks for the pic like. :D

I haven't seen anything like that. There are lots of similar products to IP, but exact matches, not really. I would suggest taking a semi-large chunk of time and reading through all the alternative threads. There are 4 now, and you will find lots of charts, sheets and info. I have read 4, 3, and half of 2 and found all sorts of interesting info. You can find the link to 3 in the first post of the daily chat every day. Then go to the first page of 3 and there are links back to 2 and 1.

Have any of you found an "alternative" protein product that has collagen added? (like the IP jello and wildberry drink) I'm not sure it actually made a difference when I was using IP products, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to continue getting it sometimes with alternatives.

There are several through Nashua. I don't have the info at my fingertips, however.

The other option is to buy some Great Lakes gelatin and add the collagen that way. I make a rhubarb jello with it. It's a sweet veggie jello treat,
