I have a noob question. My hubby brought home a 2 pack of center cut ham steaks, but they aren't fat free hams. I believe the ones he brought had about 12 g of fat, 3 g of sugar and 18 g of protein. Should I pass on the ham or eat the ham and make sure he buys fat free next time? I'm not sure if this will throw off anything. Thanks!!

Personally I would pass. Too high in fat and sugar.

You are better of with "pork" steaks...they are not processed at all..no sugar or salt....! Hadfields makes some which we find at our local groc store...they are surprisingly good...cook quickly in the skillet and we don't miss the "other stuff".

Yeah, the one he bought was from smithfield, and after re-reading the package I noticed that it was for only 4oz, so the fat content for 8 oz was way more then what I needed. I 'll take a look when we go to the store tomorrow for other types, including hadfields.
Good morning all! had a fabulous weigh-in on Saturday - I'm less that 2 pounds from my (new) goal! My stats are amazing - fat at 32.8%, VF 7. I'm very excited as I think I'll be moving to Phase 2 on Saturday. I'm also very scared about maintaining. I'm happy we have 2 weeks for Phase 2 and 4 weeks for phase 3 cause after my experience of unconscious eating once I went off plan at the holidays, I feel I really need to do this slow and steady.
Congratulations, 2 pounds from goal, so exciting!

Welcome, I drink the strawberry banana drink every morning. After the first week, no soup packets for me! Check out the packet hack recipes, they make IP life better.

that sounds so yummy! I really struggle with the weekly planning. I always end up making stuff the day of.... sigh. How many souffle's would your recipe make and how long did they usually stay fresh?
I don't remember how many it would make...maybe 4 per packet?
Try, try, try to start planning! It makes all the difference for me. The day I shop, or the day after I spend about an hour "preparing" for the week. For me, that means using the George Foreman grill for my turkey patties and putting them in labeled 4 and 8oz baggies. While I'm doing that, I get out a big pot and boil a bag of boneless skinless chicken breasts. I break those up into 4 and 8oz bags. Next up, I brown some lean ground meat (chicken, turkey or beef). Half of all my meat I put in the fridge, the other half goes to the freezer for the next week. Then, I cut up an obscene amount of peppers, cucumbers, celery, zucchini (some gets spiral sliced for noodles), and portobello mushrooms. Some of the veggies go into reusable snack bags (I don't use reusable ones for meat) and the zucchini, mushrooms and left over "snack" veggies go into plastic containers. The veggies last me a week. If I have extra time, I may roast some garlic, red peppers, cauliflower and celery to make some of the awesome purees you'll find in the site. I usually make turnip fries once a week, but I make those fresh with either a fresh steak or piece of salmon. It only takes an hour, start to clean kitchen and saves me when I'm starving later on in the week. I'm sure others have a weekly "plan" too that helps them get through the week. Anyone care to share? I'm always looking for ideas!
I hate to ask these very basic questions as I'm sure they've been answered 1000 times over. I've really looked through the forum and I have to applaud everyone on this page! So much information and so many great recipes!! (That's where I get sucked into a vortex of never getting my question answered lol)
Ok... My questions
1. The '2 cups of veggies' is this counted as cooked or raw? ie: 2 cups of kale raw is a lot different than 2 cups of kale raw.
2. I've figured out the 'extremely restricted' and the 'restricted' terms and their purposes but what does unrestricted mean? How often can you eat these unrestricted foods?
Thank you so much! I've learned so much from everyone so far.
I'm having a very hard time eating my entire dinner protein in the evenings. All other times I eat during the day, I'm fine, but i feel so full after just a couple bites of chicken or whatever. Should I split my protein up and have some during lunch? I've been having 2-3 hard boiled eggs a day to make up for the lack of real meat protein I am getting. We've been having lots of chicken lately so I will change it up later this week with other types of meat. Just looking for some advice. Thanks!

2 cups raw and unrestricted are the packets you have twice a day
Unrestricted packets are under 8 net carbs.

I usually spilt my protein between lunch and dinner. I have a hard time eating 8 oz in a sitting.
