I'm in Calgary too and my coach says lettuce, celery, and cucumbers are unlimited. I've been munching on cucumbers and celery a bit between meals when I'm hungry and I hope that's okay!
Hi stephascope (cute name btw). Thanks for the post back. Mine is saying ulimited too but is also saying that cucumber and celery don't "count" as my veggie yet they are on the list of select vegetables. I'll have to show him at the next meeting.
Just had to post 2 NSV this week. I went "shopping" in my closet both yesterday and today, in the jeans section, and was able to wear jeans that didn't fit a few weeks ago. They were comfortable and fit better than they had when I bought them. So...I look DAMN good again today! Plus, I feel great knowing I am wearing smaller jeans. The scale might not be moving much, but my body is definitely changing.
Woo hoo! Shopping in your own closet is the best! It always feels great to put on something you know hasn't fit for a while, definitely gives you a real sense of accomplishment. Congratulations!
Out of curiosity where are you finding Jicama? I have yet to see it.
I can get it at either the fruit and veg stand in town or at the grocery store. I bought my last one at Haggen's, but have seen it all over the US (and UK) in different stores.
My grocery usually keeps it by the potatoes, but they move it around depending on what they have on hand.
Thank you airportchick11!! I'll definitely follow up with my coach but it was one of those "what the" moments when I looked at my list of select veggies. If cucumber didn't count I think I would be seriously veggie challenged. Still looking for that Jicama though!
I like to get the jicama in the more "healthy" driven supermarkets. It's a big bulbish brown thing, hard. Peel the skin off with a knife and I cut it into large slices and then slice it like French fries. They do count as part of your 2C veggie. They are not unlimited. As well as cucumber. So I'm told . The only thing I've been told is unlimited is lettuce. Blah!
Happy Halloween all! We made it! Last day of the month. We will no longer be the newbies! Doesn't it feel good?
Hope you all have a terrific day. Remember, hand out those goodies! Don't want to keep the leftovers in the house for tomorrow. Personally, I'm sending my leftovers to my son in college first thing tomorrow morning. He'll be thrilled with a care package and I don't have to have the temptation in the house. It's a win/win!!!
Happy Halloween everyone! Congrats on the weight loss successes and the NSV's. I'm sure there will be a ton of those tonight! Last year I was on IP and didn't falter once. I plan on doing it again! It's not like I didn't eat any candy this past year while I wasn't on IP! I have to tell myself I know what it tastes like and I've eaten enough candy for a lifetime. It's just not worth it. Saving my Carmel Nut Bar for tonight!
Weigh in yesterday: Down 2.2lbs. I was hoping for more but, I think there were some stomach issues going on that may have contributed. I'm not going to let it get me down, 2.2 lbs in one week is pretty significant! And I lost some inches. I was able to wear pants yesterday I would have never been seen out in public just 2 weeks ago. That is a Victory!!
Hi there! I just started on the 7th. My first weigh in will be Monday the 14th. My first day of the program, I was crazy hungry and super naseaus, but so excited to start that I didn't care. Day 2, big time headache and hunger. Day 3, no headache but just felt 'foggy'. Day 4, fine. Day 5, dodged a major potluck at work and dinner out at a restaurant that wasn't very accommodating, but I did not cheat and made it happen. Today, day 6, just fine. Getting a bit bored with my veggie selections and am searching the boards for inspiration and quick recipes. Making my shopping list tonight so I can prepare for next week. The biggest struggle I'm having is watching the hubby snack at night. I'm not hungry but one night it was popcorn, and tonight a chocolate bar. I don't want it but I want to punch him for eating it..lol (btw, I would NEVER punch my husband)
Like it was said before, I am a bit tired of going to the bathroom...constantly!!
Best of Luck to all of us November Newbies!!
I can totally relate to your post! I would never punch mine either but seriously do they really have to do that to us? Meanies!
Stress is less now. The appraiser did not check the actual records, the building permit was there the whole time. Had to take a half day off to go figure it out for myself. But at least it is over
