Had to laugh at myself today. Walked to the store and had this thought pop into my head "think I will wander the veggie aisle and see what looks good". I literally stopped in my tracks and shook my head.....who woulda guessed?

I had a NSV yesterday!
I was in a dunk tank to raise money for Autism Awareness (It was such a nice day out too, I couldn't ask for a better day to be in a dunk tank) and one of the girls was talking to me before i climbed in for my shift, and she looked at me and said "Deana, you look so slim! Laurie said you've been doing something!" and I said Yes, I have been doing a program, and she said "Well, you look so slim!" haha, I tried not to laugh, because I am anything but slim, but I think maybe my face has slimmed down, and that's what she was referring too, either way, I just thanked her, and went on my way... But it felt good to know that the 14lbs gone is starting to show

Raises hand me me me! I think it is a perception thing. I think as we first start losing and seeing the inches come off we can "see" that we are getting smaller. But once we have been smaller longer our perception changes as we get used to it then we start "seeing" ourselves differently. I don't know maybe it is just me. I keep my before picture handy on my phone for when I feel fat.

Great weekend on program! It was a football weekend---and our team pulled off an upset victory--so that meant enduring another tailgate. Luckily I had made a pasta salad with IP rotini, cukes, tomatoes, green onion, a little EVOO, vinegar and WF dressing to avoid the rest of the tailgate selections. And wow they looked good (Mexican-themed tailgate). People were noticing however that I was looking thinner. I think that, plus the victory, made it all worthwhile! Only four more home games. Only four more tailgates. I can do it!

So, I don't have readily access to an oven (because I have been dying to try the rutabaga fries), so I decided I am going to attempt Rutabaga Mash (I searched the web for a recipe) I'll let ya'll know how it turns out! I'm pumped!

Sounds yummy I have only tried it as fries. If you have a hot plate and or electric skillet in your room you might also try it as a hash brown potato pancake, just shred it toss it in a bowl with some egg white and seasonings then pour it in the skillet and fry it on both sides til brown. I have done this with turnip.

It should be somewhere in the thread entitled: Ideal Protein Diet Recipes #4. You'll find the thread on the first page of the forum.

Lisa puts all the links in the opening chat post every day. If you haven't browsed all of those links yet I highly recommend it as they have a lot of helpful information.

The very first post of every daily/weekend chat has MANY links
If you haven't read through them, do it ASAP. It will answer lots of questions.

If you know what you are looking for, you can either search Google, and include the keywords for what you are searching for, such as "Big Mac in a Bowl, 3fatchicks"

or "IP Recipes, 3fatchicks" etc
Also, up top, if you click on the search bar, click Advanced search and type in whatever you are looking for a recipe for, and then you can either limit it to just that post, or the whole thread that is listing that item on the bottom left of the Search Options part, and also you can limit it to just IP boards by going to the bottom right and scrolling until you find the Ideal Protein board, and select it, and then hit search, and it should work!
Sorry if that is confusing!

Verdict on the Rutabaga Mash.... I need to invest in a potato masher.... lol
It was delicious! However, because I had no means of mashing it, it was like thin sliced potatoes (I used my peeler to slice them up when I should have cubed them)
I added Paprika, Garlic Powder, and some Ideal Salt, and 2 tsp of Grapeseed oil, and microwaved them for about 10-12 minutes, I think they could have stood to be in there slightly longer, but I gave myself steam burn so I was fed up with it and took them out.... I wanted to add some dinner protein, so I added about 4 oz of tuna, and they complimented each other nicely!
I would definitely try them again!
I had never had a Rutabaga until today! I will be buying more often, thats for sure!
