On the plus side, I may be able to get off BP meds soon. I'm looking forward to being able to run safely. Before I was kind of Homer Simpsonian when running, "Woo hoo! Look at that blubber fly!"

Congrats on your success to date...55 lbs. is a ton...I've been able to do run/walks, but have to limit my speed, duration, and distance to a couple of miles at best...sounds like the diet is improving your health(the BP meds)...for me, I'm less congested that I have previously been(after I got down to 243 from 283 via the HCG diet)...got any diet tips for to share??:)

I have been posting in a forum of people who started in Oct and realized that it's all women. Not that that's a bad thing, but it's nice to hear from some men too. My initial goal is to get back down to 250, which is what I weighed when I played football in high school. Hope everyone is doing well. Looking forward to continued success with you guys.

Congrats to you as well on your success to date..you're almost on a 1 lb. per day pace!!..Yeah, the womens' posts tend to dominate this forum...I read many of them anyway b/c there are a lot diet pros out there...my HS FB weight was around 175, so gettting there seems like a little bit of a reach for me...but good luck to you, though...just breaking the 200 lb. barrier will be monumental for me....any diet tips you want to share w/ the rest of us???:)

Sure. One of the biggest struggles for me (other than not having a glass of whiskey at night) has been getting all the required vegetables every day. I recently discovered jicama. Jicama seems to take the taste of whatever you season it with. One of my favorite new ways to get my vege's in is to slice a cold jicama very thin and then add some sweetener (truvia or stevia) and a little cinnamon. Tastes a lot like apples. There's only so much broccoli I can stomach.

Also, I use my traeger a lot to smoke meats. A skinless turkey or chicken breast with just a light coating of our daily olive oil and a little traeger chicken rub is outstanding and doesn't taste at all like you're on a diet.

Another weigh in tomorrow. Hoping to get over 40 lbs lost. A few years ago I tried to lose weight by my own diet and exercise. It took me almost a year to lose 35 lbs. To know I've surpassed that in less than 2 months is crazy.

What's that? It's hard to hear you all the way down there at 5'9. Haha, kidding of course. I've got some family in Amarillo. Haven't been down to Texas in quite a while but would love to get back there for a visit.

thanx for the jicama tip...I'll look for it when I go shopping again...I've got a good blender, so I'm making a vegetable shake(2 cups of chopped spinach, the yogurt/wild berry shake mix, water) for nightly veges..tonight I think I might substitute the IP mango drink as the base....I'm lucky in that there is a cafeteria where I work where I can get steamed veges most days...I smoke as well...already missing my ribs and briskit(I use a Big Green Egg that I like a lot)...also missing the occasional(mayble a little more then that) Knob Creek Single Barrel Reserve and Belgian style ales...oh, well, maybe my next diet will be a carb heavy diet!!!...for convenience sake, I'm buying pre-grilled HB patties(8 to a package, 4 oz. each) from my local grocery store...I'll microwave one & add a little salsa to it and that is a fast & easy treat for dinner...anyway, I could always use more ideas!!!...hang in there!!!:smug:

I need to try that tip of blending vege's in with the drinks. Do the drinks mask the flavor pretty well?

Morning Jig!!!

Yes, they can...I think the IP mango drink is a good base for 2 cups of chopped fresh spinach(with 3 or 4 ozs. of cold water)...the IP powdered wildberry drink didn't taste quite as well, I thought...tonight I'll use a chocolate shake as the base...be sure and blend this mix well, though...

On the way to work today, I picked up a few packs of the RTD EAS Advant Edge chocolate shakes at a Wal Mart...quite a bargain @ $5 for 4...much cheaper than the IP shakes...have you tried them yet???..

I dropped .6 lbs. from yesterday...hope you and everyone else are still hanging in there!!!:^:

I also picked some EAS Advantage today. I want to try using Vanilla for the coffee. Feel like IP RTD is just to expensive for that.

Yes, I agree....not sure yet what I'm going to tell my coach next week at 1st post initial weigh in as to why I'm not buying as much!....

Just had lunch...blended 2 cups of raw spinach & 2 tspns of olive oil w/ 1 EAS RTD choc shake....completely masked the spinach taste!

Weighed myself this a.m....I'm down 1.2 lbs from yesterday!!!..I know a lot of it is still aqua, but I'm encouraged that this IP diet is working for me...not feeling fatigued, either, as I did the 1st 3 days...

Hang in there folks:carrot:

quick question for all the guys. what has been your experience with muscle loss? I previously started on nutrisystem and then switched to a very strict diet to go from 255 to 176 with 8% body fat. I started having really bad binges when i started testosterone treatment for a really really low T levels and my weight is up to 195 since april. My muscle is still there but not covered with a layer of fat, would this diet help?

Thanksgiving right around the corner!!!

Well, my family and I are visiting inlaws for the Holiday..there s/b turkey there I can have...a salad as well...might bring my lunchtime veges just to be safe..I'm guessing it is going to be hard for me to watch the Cowboy and U.T. games w/o any beer & chicken wings, though...

What Turkey plans do the rest of you guys have???:^:

My coach asked me the same thing and my answer was that I'm going to treat it like any other day. I may sneak in a couple extra bites of turkey though.

I've decided to focus less on how I manage the meals (we've all got that figured out)- so I' thinking more about what I do before and after the food. Likely going to spend as much time outside keeping the food out of sign and out of mind.
FYI - reached goal this week!! - 18 wks 75+#. Gonna ride the IP system out through the holidays - and make maintenance my New Years Resolution.

I'm back!!! Not sure how many of my old buddies are left on here but I'm back for another kick at the can! I lost 51lbs on IP from Jan-around May 2013. With a bad summer I kicked back about 30lbs back on, back to 262. I want to loose 42 pounds and hit that magic 220! This time I want to do all the phases and work into a proper lifestyle with no cheats! Like you all probably know IP is the best system out there for sure!!
