Tied Game! 1:1

GoBears60 06-20-2013 11:29 AM

Weigh in yesterday. I dropped 3 pounds, I open this thread Vol 6 when I hit 240 on May 23. So it has taken me almost a month to lose 6 pounds. I'm not complaining, just sticking with it. Each passing month shows less and less weight loss. I started loging my food and can't see much difference of how I am eating than when I started this. I guess the old fat cells do not want to shrink.

Where is Ledge?

SV: Down 40 lbs as of this morning!
NSV: Fit into a size Medium shirt my wife bought me for father's day, whether it's a true medium is debatable as other mediums don't fit me

Well gents, after 21 weeks and the 1st week of Phase 2 I've hit GOAL!

I'm hoping to drop another couple in the second week of P2 so I can head in to P3 with a little buffer. Still an awful lot of flab around the middle but I'm starting to get boney in some uncomfortable spots so it's time to slow things down and start doing some muscle replacement. I think I've got a handle on how to head things off if the fat starts creeping back in. I know the scale will go up if I start lifting so that number isn't as much of a concern as just keeping the wad of loose stuff at bay.

Since everyone seems to be updating their avatar pics I added one as well. This is me and my new grand neice Arayanna. I always knew I was a great uncle but now I'm a grand uncle.

And here's a before/during/after comparison.

I am back!

I had left the week before last on an emergency business trip, and didn't get a chance to restock IP.
I drank too much tea (earl grey, Darjeeling, and English breakfast) on this week-long trip for work where I tried to stay OP as much as possible and ALSO got food poisoning the night before I left for home.

I did great OP, except had to have a ginger ale at the airport to settle my stomach after getting ill.
I guess it all worked out, but I was worried.

I missed a weigh in, so when I got in for my week 10 official WI, I had only lost just over 5 lbs - I was hoping for 7 in the 2 week period and go into phase 2 on July 2.

Well.....it's not rocket science, but it turns out that the Tanita scale indicated that I lost over 9lbs of FAT, and gained over 3 lbs of water weight.

I landed square at 17% BF, which I know is not 100% accurate, but a pretty good guess at where I am now!

My coach recommended that I go phase 2 this week (a week early) and continue the 40 minutes of walking that I do most days of the week.

Feeling good, even though I didn't hit a goal weight, this has been all about my health and so far the results are amazing. I am even wearing 32" jeans and they might be loose on me by the time I get to maintenance. They are perfect now.

Here's a couple of pics of my latest toy. It's a Mounted Kitchen Trailer (MKT) used to cook in the field for the Army and AF (I believe Navy and Marines use a different set up). This one was retrofitted in 2010 so is in almost new condition. I need to clean it up a bit before I'm willing to cook on it but the last one I had made some mean chow.

The second pic shows a bunch of the stuff that came with it. There are poles that hold the awnings up with hand rails around all sides that I don't have deployed as it was nearing 100 and I just didn't feel like it.

Thanks

Great to hear all the success stories. Thanks for posting. So three weeks on IP with alternatives. IP is easier in many ways, but lately I find myself cheating, ever so slightly, but it is happening. For instance today at lunch I had a work lunch and I had a ceasar's salad with a few croutons. Very bad!

So, I am recommitting to be more strict, and will post my success.

Start Weight: 328.5
Week 1: 318, 10.5 lbs
Week 2: 315 3 lbs
Week 3: 310 5 lbs

Hoping for another 5 lb week!!!
