I don't know if this is true with others, but I find that the closer I am to phasing off, the LESS focused I have become on the scale. I set a "goal weight" for myself, but I'd really be happy phasing off now, or in a few weeks - the number doesn't matter to me nearly as much. I feel great, my clothes feel great, and whether I lose another two or ten pounds doesn't really matter to me. Anyone else get that way as they closed in on the finish line?
I feel that way, too, Scorbett. Hit the number, but happier that I'm wearing the size 4s and even that they are comfy with silk long johns underneath. I still see a glob of fat here and there, but it isn't like I plan on being a swimsuit model someday. My focus now is on gaining strength and eating wisely.

Hmm. I will have to remember that about night shades and see if I see ant correlation.

I am 1weeks into my lean eating program with precision nutrition. They start things out very slowly. No drastic changes, less failure.

I am also taking the barleans omega, peach mango is delicious!

Otherwise I am continuing to do a phase 1 ish diet to lose the few January pounds. I will keep using an ip diet until the lean eating coach directs us in that area. I am slowly trying to phase out all but 1 packet a day and replace it with a real protein. Still eating lots of veggies!

Hi Ladies

So great to read all of your posts. Cap...thanks for the heads up on the Barleans fish oil. I will go get some as I was just thinking I need to get back on and those huge capsules I have are actually starting to scare me, so the liquid is a better alternative for me.

As always I am so grateful to know all of you. There is NO way I'd be sticking to this without you.
PS. Finally got that allergic reaction weight back off after 3 days, so I'm back to 131.4. The kicker for me will be to turn that under 130 corner. I will be thrilled and feel so on my way when that happens.

Stay warm eveyone

Hi all, I have not been around for awhile, busy with family and work. But I have been in maintenance since the first week of December. I have lost 50 pounds and in my mid 50's. I lost very slowly, but it worked!
I probably know a bunch of you all from the dailies and the over 50's group. Doing great, but love the friendship and support!

Ok. This freezing rain, icy sidewalks and roads are getting to me. I barely made it walking from the parking lot into the gym. Now we have a 2 hr delay of school due to the roads. I am putting cleats on top or the bottom of my tennis shoes to see if that works! The kids of course think it is great fun to slip and slide!

Dizzyjean: Your 50 pound loss is impressive!.Congratulations on your maintenance. Support is so helpful in this health journey.

Sunnymae: Good luck on breaking into to 20s. I agree with you that the support here is so helpful in this health journey.

Momto2cs: Good luck on phasing out the packets and your Phaseish 1. I will be curious to see what food info you learn.

Fishette: Are you enjoying the P3 breakfasts? Di you think 1200 was a high amount of calories? That does not seem so high.

Cap: You sound happier and seem to be feeling better physically! I will look for that barlean fish oil. I do feel happier after I exercise, but not so happy getting into the gym!

Determined: It seems like you are on track and have increased your exercise and weight training. Way to go.

Scorbette: That is great that you reached a normal BMI..Yes, I remember that feeling at the end, when things are slow, and you already have new clothes. You can always change your goal weight later if you decide to phase out.

Off to workout if I make it into the gym!

I officially started maintenance Wednesday but haven't changed much as phase 3 works well for me. I haven't decided on a cheat day yet as I am not craving anything yet. Do any of you have popcorn at night for your carb?

Hope you're enjoying phase 3 Fishette!
See you soon in maintenance, Scorbett!

Just a quick stop in to say hello! I can't wait to be back here in full swing. I'm currently 174.2 (from 190.8 on 1/1/13). 165 is comfortable and my ultimate goal is 160!!! My reboot is going well. Hope to never have a 30 pound reboot any time in the near future (3 years at least)!!!

Congrats to all of you who have been successful in maintenance. It's "work".

Welcome Beck81! Congrats to you on reaching P4!!!

P4 is like a mystery...you'll have to figure out what your body can take and what it can't. Some folks can handle popcorn as a snack without any repercussions while others see an immediate change on the scale the next morning. Give it a try and see how it goes.

Beck81: I tried popcorn and at first it was fine. Now (after a few months) it can be a problem. Most times I see it on the scale, but sometimes I don't.

All: I've been lurking a bit and didn't take the time to thank you for the responses to my previous posts. So, thanks!

Hi Folks,
Just checking in...
My maintenance has been going very well so far. I had my first WI in 3 weeks and am down another 2 lbs. Generally I’m eating Phase 3ish with a few treat meals during the week. I have discovered that going heavy on the carbs for a cheat meal will increase cravings the following days. So I limit them…and never eat from the restaurant bread basket.
Scorbett,
Congrats on your healthy BMI! I also found myself less focused on the scale as I approached goal and more on how I feel in my clothes.
Dizzyjean,
Awesome job losing 50 lbs!
Everyone,
Thanks for all the info and support here. I could not have done this without you.

Thanks. Glad to know your reboot is going well. I am really worried about gaining so I'm afraid to add too much back in. I am getting hungerier so working through that. Not sure if I'll try the popcorn yet.

Everyone,
Thanks for all the info and support here. I could not have done this without you.
Beck81 & cbl70 - WTG on being smart in how you approach maintenance. So much easier to start out right than to gain a few and have to try to lose it again (speaking from experience here).

Fishette - Want you to know the cream you suggested to treat my hotflashes is working - they are slowly dwindling away I can't thank you enough!

Went to the gym again tonight...feels good to get some exercise! Tomorrow I'm having an MRI on my knee; the last doc I saw thinks I have a torn medial meniscus. Really hoping I won't need surgery - cannot imagine being on crutches right now with the frigid temps and icy walkways.

Time to get dinner going, then put a grocery list together and place an order on Nashua Nutrition...have a great weekend all!
