Default Total carb

I posted this on the reboot maintainence thread and was asked to post here. Is there a net or total carb amt in maintainence phase per day that we can shoot for? I know recomended amt of protien is half your weight in grams. Is there one for carbs?

Thanks!

Vidya

There isn't a rule for carbs in maintenace but for me I'm good between 120-150. When I'm having a 'light day' I usually just cut the carbs

Hey mooselover! I am still going on with my 'babymaking plan'. I want to make sure I can stay at my maintenance weight and establish a fitness routine before we start TTC #2. So far I have accomplished both those goals 4 months into maintenance. I have stayed in my 3lb safe zone and I am running 25 miles/week and weightlifting 3x/week. I have an appointment on Feb 1 with my Ob/Gyn and am going to have my annual and discuss my TTC plans with her then.

The ingredient list makes 1 serving. I happened to make 3 servings at once - I like to mass produce my breakfasts so I have it ready to grab & go in the mornings.

Ishbel: Here is the link:National Weight Control Registry
www.nwcr.ws/. Their research is interesting. I have done two surveys for them. I had read that article before. I think you can buy leptin in health food stores. I get hungry and cold also. I remember being rather irritated that the person next to me was burning off 20 percent more calories on the elliptical than me..the formerly obese.

Lizr: That is exciting news that yu are planning another baby! Plus keeping your weight in a 3 pound range for 4 months is a success. Your recipe looks excellent. So do we change the cranberry amount to 4 oz? So nice to be called "so slim"..I like your "new normal" comment.

Vidyab35: I do not know a day carb count. A friend who has maintained for 5 years says she eats 70-100 carbs a day and drops to 20 to lose.

Fishette: Cancun is one of my favorite cities. The water was so warm.

Becky81: Phase 3 breakfasts are wonderful. Welcome.

Lizzy63: Thanks for sharing your great meal plan. I do the same..eat fish when I have up pounds.

Sonyavina: Those last pounds are hard and slow..Post anytime.

Mooselover: glad you liked the article. I found it an interesting twist to work on maintenance while losing.

Greenirish: I hope you are feeling better and getting sleep. That cream sounded interesting.

It is cold here and I am going to drag myself to the gym. I am glad it is Friday.

maile thank you for that post.

at the p4 seminar at our clinic
here were somethings i picked up

will gain 4 to 5 pounds because of adding back salt, glycogen and if weight lifting some more, does not mean we gained weight

in nature fat and carbs do not exist together, there are no pizza trees or pasta alfredo.

he stressed portion control and planning, anything we want to be successful at we plan, same goes for p4

some common ip pitfalls - in p4
people stop drinking water
stop eating 4 cups of veggies(fillers)
not eating enough protein(1/2 of your weight is about how many grams of protein for p4)

one of my favorite healthy meals pre-ip was quinoa, avocado, bell peppers, onions and tomatoes. well avocado is carb and fat together in nature. ip rep said better to have it with protein than my carb meal

did any one lose "CUP" size while on IP. I look like a porn star in the bikini's, and while some may like that look I do not care for it all. I am on IP boot camp, day 4, rep said I can easily do it for 7 days. I have been eating one restricted a day. They asked me to stop that and may be eat an omelet. With the boot camp the salt intake has significantly reduced, which is showing up on the scale. I am 32 FF cup last I measured a month ago and have not lost any in cup since then.

I am hoping restricting salt and fat with doing the boot camp will help my boobs release the fat. I did have a mammogram this week and the radiologist showed me that I do have a lot of fat left in them, I do have breast tissue but I can stand to lose the fat.

Any inputs, ideas, suggestions will help. I weighed in at 126.2 and I think the lowest I should go is 115. My height is 5'2 and I am small boned. I really am not focused on the number on the scale, more on my cup size. I would like to go down to F, EE ,E and settle for DD, a "c" cup and I will be in heaven.

Sonya: Sorry, I don't have any advice on how to make your boobs smaller...I understand your frustration though. I'm chesty too. :/ You're body releases where it wants to, maybe someone else has some ideas.

maile Thanks for the blog post.

SNOW DAY! We've had a blizzard for more then 24 hours and it's still high winds, -16 C but with the wind chill it is more then -30 (which is quite a big jump!) Work has authorized us to come in late, but with a Honda Fit...well I'm not 4x4ing in it. So I'm taking the day. I am ready to make Liz's mac and cheese..but can't find the extra can of pumpkin that I KNOW I bought !! And I can't really run out and get one...very sad! lol

SO, yesterday I went to the doc, asked for the cortisone shot, she said "we can do one hip right now" My internal conversation was "it's ok, it's ok...I decided this, I can do this" The nurse told me that I couldn't compare it to the one that I got in my toe as you have a lot of nerve endings in your toes and fingers. She said "you will be pleasantly surprised"....the verdict? I'm a pansy! Yup, that's what I am. It aches but no where near the ache it was when I was first hurt...3-4 days NOTHING, no yoga NOTHING. Then if it works, back for the other side.

Yup, my name is Ishbel, and I'm a pansy! Thanks for listening and putting up with me

Ishbel - FWIW, I would have had the same reaction. You are not a pansy!

Sonya - We're all different. I thought I would lose a lot in my cup size, but I lost more in my band size than cup size... Think I was 38G when I started, and now 34F. Of course, even the same cup size in a smaller band is really smaller - it's all proportionate. DH does not mind, but I would prefer to be the same size top and bottom and be able to wear a dress or blouse that is not specially made for busty women!

I think I just have to learn to love my body the way it is!

Just came back from my week1 re-boot WI. I am down 3.5 pounds, but I am still 2 pounds above my goal so I will stick with phase 1 a little longer. Really want to be under my goal...
