The clinic that I just started at is switching to HealthWise and phasing out Ideal Protein. When I saw the chili packet I thought it looked familiar and it turns out the product are identical to HealthSmart products available at Nashua Nutrition. I have purchased these in the past and they are similar to the Ideal Protein products.

Has anyone tried Sun Warrior Classic Protein Vegan protein powder in chocolate or vanilla? Just saw this at GNC and it seems like it would work on phase 1:
Calories - 80 Fat - 1g Carbs - 5g Dietary Fiber - 2g Protein 16g They only sell big bags, so I was wondering if anyone has tried it before I get a huge bag of it! |
Hey all!
I'm new here. I had a friend lose over 55 lbs in 3 months on IP, which got me and my DH interested in the diet. Right now I am just prepping to start the plan (doing research). We want to start just after the new year. My hubby will be going to an IP certified coach and I will be trying this out on my own. I just stumbled upon this seller on ebay ( dietnomoreliz): http://www.ebay.com/itm/IDEAL-WEIGHT...ol_seller_info She claims to be selling products made by the IP company under a diff brand. 7 boxes for $105. Is this a good deal? Has anyone tried IDEAL WEIGHT AWAY products? Anyone ordered from this seller? I will be prepping the food for me and my DH. So I am looking into options now so we don't get bored. I'm hoping to lose 10-20 lbs on the plan. My DH would like to lose 40 or so. Can't wait to post my progress here :D |

You can also buy EAS drinks, Quest Bars from GNC, a variety of other powders, drinks and bars at various local stores. It is amazing the amount of protein products now in Target, Walmart, Sam's Club....etc Just check the numbers so they are compliant with IP type products. |
^Great information!
I was reading this thread lately because I will switch to alternatives in about six weeks as my food has run out and I can't afford to buy more. I wrote so many product names and websites down off of this thread. Thanks for all the great ideas. |

I used to buy from Ideal Weight Away when she sold IP Products. The items she sells now are the same as Nashua but a lot more expensive. Use Nashua! I really wish Ideal Weight Away still sold IP though.... |
Dietdirect
I must say, that after looking into alternatives...It has me willing to try them. I am not going to give up Ideal Protein altogether, but as an addition to it. Dietdirect.com has a lot of products, and even separates what is or is not aspartame free.
I will let you know how the products are, I ordered several brands as well as a protein supplement to ensure I do not fall below that requirement. |

I will have to give it a try, I will pick some up and Meijers when I stop by tomorrow. |
So I have bought a few alternatives to try and am nervous but also excited about cutting the cost down. Like Flipmyspork said, I'm not giving up all the IP products, I actually really like some of them.
I wanted to use different vitamin supplements, but when I started comparing, there really was no comparison. I may need to look online but ALL the supplements at GNC have calcium carbonate instead of the citrate. The lady there said the citrate is way better and cannot do what the carbonate can do and she actually told me to stick with what I have and lost out on a sale. Anyone know anything about the vitamin comparison? I've read on other boards that people have been successful finding some at Walmart but I'm just wondering how ya'll feel about it. |
I just tried to find comparable supplements and I end up taking more potassium pills than you would have to take with IP bkz you can't get more than 99 in a pill OTC in the US.
Downside: yesterday I was trying to swallow my morning supplements in a hurry (I have a 6 mo old) and swallowed them funny and ended up immediately barfing them all up with my coffee!!!! NOT a way to start the morning. For a second I thought I was pregnant and totally freaked out. |
Has anyone tried these? Saw them at Kroger, they're kroger's organic/healthy brand and the nutrition info seems OP. Inexpensive.

I buy all my supplements from Swanson Vitamins online.

I am on alternatives and recently decided to buy some quest bars. I am a slow loser even though I pretty much follow IP 100%. I don't know if it's just a coincidence but, since I starting eating one a day my loses have been even slower. This is just my experience but, thought I'd pass it on. I have used all that I bought and won't purchase anymore for a while and see if that is contributing to my slow losses.
