Regarding Pea Protein:
Fine to use, just make sure the nutrition facts line up to either be a restricted or non-restricted. As a matter of fact, pea protein is the first ingredient in the White Cheddar Ridges. |
EAS AdvantEdgeCarb RTDs
FYI - the ingredients listed on their website show the first two ingredients as: Soy Protein Isolate, Pea Protein Concentrate. For those concerned with soy, I assume this is important for you to know. It's NOT just pea protein!! |
Gotta say I am not overly happy about this. Today after work I bought all the chocolate fudge shakes at work. Then went next door and bought all the ones at Wal-Mart. Such a sad thing as all the other shakes I have tried really were just barely tolerable in comparison. Thanks so much for the heads up on both the change and that there is soy in the new formula.

The shakes have always had Soy protein, the old ingredients had soy protein and whey protein. I was just commenting in my original post that they replaced the whey protein with pea protein. I did try the Café Caramel today for breakfast, and the taste is the same as the old formulation, thank goodness! However, and this may just be coincidence, I was hungry 2 hours after I drank the shake with pea protein, whereas usually I can last approx. 3.5 hours after drinking the shake before I eat again. I felt like I was starving! I'm going to go buy out my stores too :( |

I do not like these new formulations either. Not enough to stop drinking them, because that's what I have been using, but the chocolate ones are all switched over where i buy them from (BJ's). And that's the reason I went out and got a membership with them. (specifically!) Oh well. I had a friend get me some from Sam's club! I think I will send them an email as well.

I finally found a delicious replacement for my chocolate drink. I tried a sample this morning in my frapuccino. I am worried it has too many calories. It is V-Core Vantage from Compete Nutrition. The stats are on their web site, and below:
150 calories 20 calories from fat 6 net carbs 25g protein No aspartame Is this a good P1 alternative? They have vanilla, milk chocolate, cookies and cream, s'mores, and orange creamsicle. |
Not sure but based on what has been posted: for unrestricted it is below 160 cals- check. Cals from fat less than 30% of total cals- (60) check. Less than 8 net carbs- check and at least 15g protein - check. Seems to qualify but if someone else could confirm....
Just having the EAS carb control strawberry drink myself. Not in love with Strawberry flavored stuff any way but it is ok. Wanted to try all favors. It's first ingredient is soy which I am allergic to lol, so we will see if I can tolerate it. Loved the dark chocolate and the cafe caramel favors! Recommend just drinking them cold, not trying to make a shake as it takes away from the flavor IMO. |

are the quest noodles phase 1 friendly? seems so...but i wanted to be sure
if yes, has anyone had them? are they any good? thanks in advance. PS: searching this thread got me no information on the quest stuff :D |
Well my daughter picked up some if those new EAS carb control shakes to have around before I arrived and I had one last night. Actually.. I liked the old formulation fine ..but so is this new one. I like that it is a few calories lower... And the taste was fine.. Not quite as sweet....I'm good with the change!

Now, if they'd just remove the soy...
