Today I weighed-in and have achieved GOAL! Now I plan to stay on phase 1 and drop down to around 205...then I will have a 10lb "cushion" to use on phase 3 and 4. Feels great! I figure another 3-4 weeks phase 1 as my weight loss has really slowed down now that I am thinner.

To all the new folk's; WELCOME! Great program and great people here...you will have no problem if you remember to keep it simple, follow the sheets, don't expect big loss numbers every week and most important:
View this NOT as a diet...view it as a life change. If you can get your mind around that, then this is not a diet, it is simply your new way of eating and it becomes "normal". Then, you do not feel like you have "x" number weeks or months to go before you get back to eating "normal" because you ARE eating normal as per your new way of eating! See what I mean? This is your new way of life to change all the over eating you did before. This is what will get you thinner, healthier, and on track for the REST of your life. There is no failure...there is no going back...and you are NOT a slave to the scale. If one week you gain 1 lb and another week you lose 3 lbs, so what? Get over it....you are not doing this for the short term, you are doing this for LIFE!
This is not something you do until you reach goal and then go back to old habits. Thats how we ALL got fat to begin with, and that doesn't work.
The program works ONLY because you MAKE it work by following it.
My brother went to phase 4 3 weeks ago after reaching his goal. After 3 days on phase 4 he decided on a cheat day, that lasted 3 weeks!!!! Right you are...he is now re-gained 24 lbs and back on phase 1.
Do the program...but do it right or your are wasting your time!
Lets drop some inches today gang!
Cheers
Jake

I lurk here sometimes, but haven't posted before. Just wanted to congratulate you Jake on reaching goal! Fantastic! And also, I loved the rest of your post about the importance of viewing this as a new lifestyle. RIGHT ON!

Hey guys newbie here! Jumped on the diet on Thursday and pressing forward every day! Good to see a thread full of support here for the fellas! I am looking to lose about 175lbs, not sure how long it is going to take but I am very impressed by what I have seen so far with this diet.

I made it through the AFC/NFC Championship rounds yesterday without touching any alcohol or non IP foods! The late game was an unfortunate outcome for me, but hey at least I do not have to get all wrapped up in the SB in two weeks, I can take it easy! Kind of a relief I suppose!

I am in my third week also and seem to be getting stronger with being able to stay OP. I haven't really had any urges to cheat... although the popcorn at the movies sure smelled pretty good last week!

Exercise? I now endorse light exercise. Last Thursday I hit hard, and I was pretty miserable on Friday so I haved back off on it. My coach has always said light exercise only, like walking and stretching. It wasn’t that I was sore on Friday; it was that I was miserably hungry, and white knuckling it from meal to meal. I guess I loss some lean muscle mass? The pattern seems to be (for me) the more I do exercise wise, the more miserable I feel the next day. I also am going to stop watching the biggest loser on TV.

Welcome! Dole
I have started my 4th week and doing well. It is a bit of a metal adjustment, really took through the second week to be mentally into the strict adherence, but that is what pays off.

Learned a new trick this week.
I was shopping on line for a replacement bathroom scale. Mine was not reading constantly, I could get on it and each time, and get a way different reading. Which was very frustrating this week, as it kept coming up with the same weight 4 days in a row (even though I could feel a big loss).
As I was reading through the reviews about scales I found that with a digital scale, if you move it at all, you have to allow it to recalibrate.
You do this by turning it on and then let it turn off, then weight in.
Doing this allowed the one I have to give me the same weight time after time. Learned something new.....

That is interesting! I have a digital scale and noticed that the first reading is usually what my last reading was, if I weigh myself 3 or 4 times after all those results are the same and usually much lower then the first reading. That must be why! I move it out of the cabinet and onto the floor, not giving it time to recalibrate before I jump right on!
