Ooh dehydrating your own herbs sounds great!

When I was a kid, my dad would make homemade beef jerky in the dehydrator and I LOVED it. Not sure if I can eat much of that now on phase 1, though it might be allowed later on.

I've been trying to think of other things that will justify me buying a dehydrator, but not sure. I think I'll wait a bit. I have too many kitchen gadgets!

Down 3.1 pounds again this week...that seems to be a trend for me! I will take it. Feeling good. Just went through my closet and took out quite a few things that are too big!! Yeah for IP! Does anyone know how many pounds are in a dress size? I feel like I am down about two sizes at 23 pounds lost. Also I got on the WII fit game yesterday and went from obese to overweight!!!! My MII even lost weight! So cool! Have a great IP day all!:carrot:

For me personally I change sizes about every 20 pounds, but then again everyone is different.

Hey everyone. Checking in after a challenging night.

My friend and I go to the fair every summer and pig out. Fried pickles, corn dogs, lemonade, fried dough...whatever we want. This year I couldn't have any of that, it was hard smelling everything. I had a little steak on a stick, water, a packet, and a giant dill pickle! I'm proud of myself as my friend did not hold back lol.

On another note, I am in a lot of pain and not feeling well. Think I am having some issues with C, and I can't do anything about it until tomorrow or Tuesday since I work tonight. Bummer :-(

I use the Smooth Move tea, and it works wonders for me. Also drink a lot of water.

Only eat things that are NOT on the list if they are 0/0/0. The only thing I have found is Wf mayo. It's not terrible once it's mixed with something. Now I notice they have different flavor ones too.

That's the best time to buy things, off season. I'm going to need a warm jack too as last years will be much too big for me now. I just hesitate to do that since Austin, if it even does get really cold may only last a week or so, and then pop back up to the 70's during the winter. One week in the 30's and the next week in the 70's once the front passes through. No need to spend much on winter clothes here.

Sorry to not see in searches!

I'd just keep your vitamins at the same time.

Thanks I will. Can I say we are at accrued seafoodcahack and I packed my own veggies and salad and ordered a dry broiled salmon :) it was stressful finding somewhere I could but it's worked out

Good morning, I-People!

I am still in the throes of caring for a couple of sickies. :( It makes me restless and snackified.

But I will resist!!!!!:D:p:cool:

I am so excited for shopping day tomorrow. I am really looking forward to finding some okra and also to making some of that fabulous looking fauxtato salad. On the other hand, I feel bored of all my protein choices. Anybody want to suggest something fabulous to me?

Lately, with my little sick ones, I've been preparing something simple and carby for them, then throwing together a little skillet of collard greens, shallots, garlic and seafood with old bay seasoning. Then I pour a T or so of apple cider vinegar in the pan to de-glaze. Yum! But, I've done it too much lately. So, I welcome suggestions right now. Plus, I feel on the isolated side due the "quarantining" we've been doing, so if you personally suggest something to me, I'll feel like a real member of society again.:p:hug:

I'm also on the moody side since my oldest 2 have been home for a week, then later this week one leaves again for a month and the other leaves for 2 weeks. :tantrum: But I guess you have to let them grow up sometime, huh? The thing is...I just enjoy their company so much. They are my little :bb::bb::angel::angel:.

One of my little sick ones is helping me type this out. He is getting the biggest thrill out of clicking on the emoticons, so please pardon their abundance!:wave::wave:

Halfagain - I got my dehydrator at a Meijer store here in Illinois - it's a Nesco model FD-60 and it does have the temp control. It was about $50. I think this model is also available at Overstock.com. No need to spend that much just to get one with a temp control. I'm very happy with it so far!

Thanks Lizzy, but my hubby is a research machine :-) We apparently need the one with the fan in the back, so the trays don't need to be rotated for jerky. Who am I to say? Thanks anyway though. Happy drying!

Once again - LOVE this program! I went to a bounce place with my son and his friend and there is a "spider" climb that you have to be under 200 lbs to do - It was SO FUN and no one even questioned that I wasn't okay to be on it! Then we went out for lunch to Cheeburger Cheeburger and I asked if the portabella mushroom was marinated in anything - which it was so I got a salad with no dressing and water - and that led to a conversation with the waiter about the diet - how much I had lost, etc. so he asked if I had a before picture and I showed him - he was completely impressed! (not bad to have a 22 year old guy impressed with a NOT 22 year old me!) Made me feel so strong and proud! Every day has a new benefit that food NEVER had!

Your recipe sounds pretty good!! A suggestion I could make would be to add some "Miracle Noodles". You can't find them in the store, they need to be mail ordered but they are 0/0/0 everything and take on the flavor of what ever you are cooking. I think your recipe would be delicious with noodles in along with a HP Beef soup broth. Sort of an Asian type soup. Yumm, an idea for my own dinner tonight!

Enjoy all the times with your little ones, they grow up so quickly!! Mine now towers over me by a foot but is still my "baby".

NSV I'm getting "organized" as per lots of suggestions on this site.
--Bought a good blender awhile ago and love it -- worth the price for the ice grinder as my magic bullet just isn't as smooth.
--Got a "pill container" so I organize my vitamins once a week and it helps me to remember to take them better. Got a mini one for my purse so I can have them when I'm out
-- made a "purse package" with a fork, spoon, some Stevia, a WF salad dressing, a snack item and the vitamins. Never stuck now when away from home
-- New lovely water container that I've been using way more faitfully so I can see if I've had enough water (not usually but getting there)
-- Still recording faithfully -- even my cheats -- so that's good
Haven't had one complete OP day in awhile, but my cheats are not too bad (some gum, extra protein, not enough water etc.) so still feeling like I'm doing pretty well. Maybe tomorrow can be 100 % OP....

Hey guys! Just checking in for the day. You know, it's very weird how a day can start with you feeling very in control and empowered and determined to do this diet and then it only takes that 1 moment that can change everything in an instant!!! I was doing so good today and then out of nowhere, had a moment where I wanted a big meal! I wanted something....anything....and I wanted something bad!! LOL. AMAZINGLY....I made it through my horrible moment of weakness today. I took a nap, lol! I woke up feeling a lot more in control. It was a very close call for me today. I am on Day 9 and have not cheated once, but today I almost threw in the towel! It's so hard when that other voice tries to tell me that food is my friend and I need that friend. Earlier, I was feeling bored and a little down and in my past....I would say "hey, why don't I go get us a good meal from somewhere and come back and we'll eat while we watch a movie" etc. It was so hard to get those thoughts out of my head. I am so thankful that I was able to move past this moment. It sucks that I took a nap and wasted time from my day, but at least I didn't cheat. :)

Definitely can identify with those "moments". Congrats on getting through it! You are going to be so happy when you weigh in.

So happy to be back! I posted about my challenging mother in law in the 100% thread but wanted to share my NSV here. I went shopping today on my way home from Montana and purchase size 10 pants!!!! So excited! Cannot remember last time I wore size 10. I also have a question for anyone familiar with Maurice's clothing. I tried on a skirt size 11/12 thinking it correlated with size 12. It was huge! So I went down 2sizes to a 7/8 and it fit. What size would that be in typical clothing?

SheenaB 08-20-2012 01:46 AM

I had a great weekend! I got to spent quality time with family and friends in the beautiful sunny Okanagan! My legs are FINALLY getting some color! Yay!

I hope everyone had a great weekend as well!

QUESTION!!!
When counting carbs for an item, do I subtract the fiber from the carb #?
Say for instance the carbs was 13 and the fiber was 3 would the carb total be 10? Or would it stay as 13?
Thanks in advance! :):):):)

Hi Saradise:
I had one of those days Saturday...OMG I was STARVING so bad around 1PM I saw no way to make it to dinner...I got 4oz deli turkey and made roll-ups in romaine lettuce...I used sliced onion, some herbs of choice, and some spicy dijon mustard for the spread. It saved my life and kept me on program....and no cheat and no sugar. I had less meat at dinner to balance the daily books....but got through it!
Cheers
Jake
