Day 3 of IP...feeling skinnier already :)

LizRR 08-18-2012 08:23 PM

I had a great outlet shopping morning (tax free weekend in TX)! Fit into size 0 at Ann Taylor, I guess that BF% whoosh really made the difference - I was there shopping 2 weeks ago and was comfortably in the 2s. Just goes to show there is more to our bodies than the number on the scale, since I have lost 0lb since starting the phase off, yet my clothes are still shrinking. I will say I am pleasantly surprised that I am still transforming positively during the phase off process.

I just came from a beer & brats farewell for a buddy I've known since elementary, middle, & high school. Another childhood friend was there too and both gave noticeable reactions and skinny comments. They've known me as the perpetual chubby kid, so it was great to show them the new me!

locopollo - There is okra all over Dallas! If you can make it to the downtown Farmers Market I bet you will find it over there. I found it at Central Market (the BEST produce IMHO) and Krogers here in Plano.

Good thing I have a long day shopping at the outlet mall to burn it all off! I've been obsessing and pouring over Phase 3 breakfast recipes for a few weeks now, waiting to earn this payoff and it tastes even better!

I was thinking last night about the folks who find themselves struggling to continue due to the 'blahs'. I had a time where I started loosing focus - had a little more protein, a little looser with my veggie measurements - and came on here and found others in the same boat (Cadu, etc) and we resolved to tighten ship and continue on. It feels reallly great to be finishing this up and going into Maintenance feeling Great, not 'good enough'. It's fantastic to change your goal weight if you find you are truly happy where you are at, but please - Be HAPPY! TRULY HAPPY! Part of this whole process was breaking through the old ways to reach your goal and prove to yourself that you can do it!

All right - off the soap box. I just really want everyone to be successful! You can reallly, truly, 100% honest reach that unattainable place you never thought possible (in my case, size 1/2...lol). Don't give up on yourself!!!

I miss Cadu!

Good Morning Fellow IPers!

Great week on the scale and NSV. Down another 3 lbs today.

I was also tired of the droopy butt look in my jeans. I started in a tight 18/20. The last month or two my size 16 jeans felt great out of the dryer only to get too loose as the day went on. So, i decided to go to Walmart and grab a size 14 hoping they will fit in a few weeks. Didn't have to wait...THEY FIT PERFECTLY!!!!

I cannot remember the last time I was in a size 14...probably when I was around 12 yrs old (almost 30 years ago). WOW!!! Just so excited today.

We are also going to see the in-laws tonight. Last time I saw them I was only OP for a month. Now I am 3.5 months in and 47.6 lbs down. WOO HOO!!!!

Can't wait to rock the new jeans tonight.

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend and OP day!

Awesome!

Speaking of Dallas, hopefully I can find some okra there because there sure as heck isn't any here in Denver. I might have to go to Parker as one of our Colorado IPers says it's there, but that is more than 30 minutes away! I'm going to try some Asian grocery stores when I come across them. Crazy.

Ran/walked and did abs. Then I had a Crispy Cereal Waffle. My favorite. I'm so thrilled with where I'm at. My whole life would be perfect if I could just find some okra.

Speaking of okra, I have some roasting in the oven right now. I found it at one of the farmer's markets in town.

I'm on day 8. Day 5 is when my body finally adjusted to the diet and I started feeling normal. It will pass! It gets easier with each day that passes. Hang in there!

You regained your energy level? I'm usually a pretty energetic person...

Went to the Farmers market today to get my veggies (fresh, local = best!)

Then I made my veggie purées to mix with soup for lunches Mon-Fri AND made the mock potato salad from the recipe thread

Then I went back to Whole Foods for a couple things. We planned steak for dinner. WF had shrimp on sale so I got a pound of that. I ended up cutting my steak in half for another nite (2 surf & turf dinners sounds good to me!). I also sautéed some portobello mushrooms. Extras will go into my purées

Tomorrow we're going to a catered hotdog picnic. I'm bringing zucchini/potato pancakes with mock potato salad. I'll be eating better/ healthier than them! People will be drinking. I'll break out the Mio.

Just another OP weekend. It can be done with planning and persistence!

Now I'm off to the Vitacost website to buy some Walden Farms. They have a BOGO special.

Okay - maybe not the same thing, but fresh Okra is scarce in these parts. However I did find Kroger all natural cut Okra in the freezer 12 ounce packages 10 for $10 (regular $1.99 each). I have 9 trays of it in the dehydrator tonight - lol I hope I like it as well as I did the fresh. Not sure why I wouldn't. I checked them and they are all slimy as the fresh were before. The cut pieces are a bit larger than I did the fresh ones, but I don't think that will be a problem. Anyway, felt like a score finding it for 1/2 off.

Cabelas has a door buster sale next Saturday, with $80 off on a nice dehydrator. Sale price $119. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabel...h-All+Products . (in store only I believe - there's one fairly near us). We were really leaning towards an Excalibur dehydrator on Amazon but it's a bit over $200, so the savings is really pulling us to this sale. We'll see. My mom's machine we're using doesn't have a temperature control, like either of these other models will have and we are going to be making jerky with it is the idea.

When okra is not in season, I also buy it frozen. I like it just as well :)

BTW-Loving my $15 Hamilton Beach personal blender. It is just too easy and convenient. My husband rolled his eyes when I told him how much it cost (he just bought an expensive Vitamixer). I like my blender better...worth every penny :)

Good Evening and happy saturday night... Well..vacation is over almost and i have returned home to my little port hardy..Thank God..its so much cooler up here..Down in Victoria we were having highs of 30 and 33 degrees C... and my little girl was a cranky pots because she couldnt tolerate the heat very well...

So...update on the 90 day challenge..Im officially two months in and my parents went for their official weigh in as well..(They chose their own diets) and my Dad lost 5 pounds in two months and my mom lost 3 pounds in two months.(really sounds like there diet is working for them hey?) In two months i have lost 32 pounds as of today. Thank you IP!

It was a crazy week at the parents house. I stayed 100% OP and did just fine but my mother appeared to be obsessing over everything she put in her mouth...It was like "oh i cant have a banana, its too high in sugar" but " i will have a piece of bread, its only got 21 grams of carbs" Another example of how there diet is going " I need a few cheesies to get these vitamins down" and "Im being bad and having the yam fries with my turkey sandwich on whole grain bread" (by the way..the fries were piled high..like were talking a mountain full served up with a whopping of mayo on the side") And if that wasnt enough... I came home from going for a swim with my hubby and found my parents eating "take out pizza..the greasy kind with loads of cheese"...And in my head im thinking " man oh man..no wonder your only losing 3 pounds in two months..your eating wont do anything to help you lose weight"...

Ive had several NSV's by the way..

1) I went shopping for a beautiful dress..size 20! And i have some curves back
2) My bra that i just bought is already gapping and loose
3) I sat through lunch today with my family watching them eat burgers and fries out and i ate a ceaser salad, without the crutons , with the dressing on the side and a side order of fresh shrimp to go on top.
4) I watched my hubby and father eat doughnut holes in front of me this morning at tim hortons
5) I watched my friends eat microwave popcorn
6) I fed my daughter a muffin today and didnt even taste it.

Point is: Ive learned to say no and to not even go there...I have been succeeding like crazy...and im so proud of it..because the best NSV was when i got to wear my new lingire that i had bought last year off the internet but couldnt fit last year after i quit the diet...Well i stuck to my diet..and now it fits! and hubby says "rawr" it looks good!

So ya..thats my week!

Anywho..happy OP peeps..this diet works!

Yep! My husband loved the roasted okra, but me - not so much. Then again he has always loved okra, and I haven't. Thankfully I roasted broccoli with the okra, so we were both happy.

I cant wait to hear how the okra turns out! Nice price!
