Great week on the scale and NSV. Down another 3 lbs today.

I was also tired of the droopy butt look in my jeans. I started in a tight 18/20. The last month or two my size 16 jeans felt great out of the dryer only to get too loose as the day went on. So, i decided to go to Walmart and grab a size 14 hoping they will fit in a few weeks. Didn't have to wait...THEY FIT PERFECTLY!!!!

I cannot remember the last time I was in a size 14...probably when I was around 12 yrs old (almost 30 years ago). WOW!!! Just so excited today.

We are also going to see the in-laws tonight. Last time I saw them I was only OP for a month. Now I am 3.5 months in and 47.6 lbs down. WOO HOO!!!!

Can't wait to rock the new jeans tonight.

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend and OP day!

Wow. That is an amazing feeling. You will zoom through those sizes now. I went from a 14 to 6 in just a couple of months. I was trying on pants in my closet yesterday, and looked in the full length mirror (I usually avoid that at all costs) and did not recognize myself. Honestly, I did not think my legs would look so thin. Could not stop staring at myself. It happens so fast on IP that your brain does not have time to adjust.

Have fun with the family!:D

Hehehehe, I just ventured into the Spinach Smoothie craze, awesome post about it here.

Worked everything out beautifully, really enjoying my smoothie. BUT, watch out. I put ice in my cup after finishing with the blender. I just really freaked out. I forgot about the ice, can't see it in the cup, and when it hit my lip I was like "OMG, I thought all the spinach was pulverized, what the **** is that!" Then I remembered about the ice.

It is storming here, heavy rain, thunder and lightening. And, I got my car washed today. BUT today is an awesome day. I am on top of the world and am about to do some heavy database work. It will be nice when I'm done with this database and the money starts to come in from it. :)

Have a great IP Day everyone.

Does he know he can use lifesavers (the candies or OJ to get his blood sugar up right away? I ask as my husband is a diabetic also and I have had to take him to the hospital numerous times for serious low blood sugar and complications.

I'm excited for you - your in laws will be most likely be surprised - and I say that because IP seems to make us look so much smaller than our weight would typically allow. (Still can't figure out how that happens.)

Good morning IP family!

I am thin! :carrot: Or I was until I was trying on a bikini and turned around to look at the back. :nono: Yesterday one of my bosses told me "That dress makes you look really thin, or maybe you ARE really thin." I just said thank you. I did look long in that dress yesterday. :D

Going to do some cardio soon. I'm making rice for my dog, and as soon as it's done, I'm outta here.

Molly, do your FedEx packages eventually show up? :?: I'm not sure what to do. I am certain it ended up on someone else's porch, and I doubt they are very much enjoying the ProtiThin oatmeal packets. I thought maybe someone would bring it to my porch as the address on the package is correct.... I am not sure if I should order more (and have it delivered to my office) or what. It took a stinkin' week to get here, and then it never made it.

I read this thread and I have so much I want to respond to, but I slept late and I am sort of brain dead. :dizzy: Sorry!

DUH ME!.... I can't believe how many carbs I have been eating -- I just have been having the "packs" and not worrying about how much each thing is worth. The things I like the most -- shakes, pre-made puddings and my restricteds-- are all the highest carb counts.

So now I think I get that I can have up to 40 grams carbs per day at most, and the one video I watched said the daily veggies add up to 15g carbs on avg.... I don't really have room for my sacred caramel nut bar....:nono: ... sigh... must "rethink" how to eat snacks. Can't give up my bar! Thank you for the suggestion somewhere to use pudding as a shake to get less carbs. Will try that

LOL yeah this is not new territory for us, he is a Type 1 diabetic diagnosed since age 9. We keep plenty of glucose tablets around (they absorb a little faster than candies and he HATES honey), but he's just a very brittle diabetic. Thankfully since he's been on an insulin pump the episodes like this are few and far between. He just forgot to take into account the amount of walking he did with the kids that afternoon and didn't have a snack when he got home :)

My house smells like APPLE PIE!! I took Scorbett's advice about trying dehydrated jicima chips with cinamon and splenda - can't wait until they're done!

I did notice, though, that this jicima is not as sweet as the one I got last week. It is bigger. Does anyone know if size matters (with repsect to jicima)?? Any advice would help as I head off to the store later...

Weigh in #5 on Monday and feeling good about it! :)

Hi Lizzy,
I have no idea on jicima - I have yet to try it at all.. though I gave it a good look over when I saw it in the store :-) I'll work my way up.

Talking about dehydrating - Okra is awesome! I just salted it (salt sticks well to the slimy little rounds). I got the one tray I made out today and I love them. Even hubby says, they are good. Super crunchy and tasty too. I think I'll be doing kale and okra for me, apples for hubby and son. I haven't found a good seasoning I like for the zucchini yet, but I'll keep trying.

I just finished my spinach vanilla shake for lunch, so good! I use the Magic Bullet to blend mine and I always add the spinach last since that is the first thing to get pulverized when I flip the plastic cup over into the blender. Now for some roasted seaweed. It's a green lunch for sure. :carrot:

Lots of rain and some thunder here today too, which is great because we need the rain.

Good morning all,
I answered a couple of posts in friday's thread and if you posted late, check back there if you had a question.

One of the topics was about feeling ill, getting extra hungry and weight loss stalling. Sometimes, we eat extra when feeling ill and weight loss stalls. This happened to me - I ate extra veggies and early on in my journey here didn't realize the full impact of this - meaning just how many carbs are in certain vegetables. At the same time someone else posted a list of carbs in veggies we eat - how fortuitous. Here is that post and while I don't know who to give credit to for this, I thank you - it will help others make better choices too.

My weight loss really slowed down last week - only 1 lb - so I was trying to figure out why. From those videos recommended by evepet on http://www.idealcoaching.tv/video-samples.html I think I am one that needs the low end of the carb allowance (25 - 40g/day) to lose weight. And remember that the total daily allowance INCLUDES carbs you get from your IP products. So, my plan is to forego restricted IP products this week, and to choose veggies on the lower end of the carb spectrum (net carbs). I found I was loving those rutabaga and turnip fries, but they are on the high end for carbs.

Another helpful link from the idealcoachingtv site is
http://nutritiondata.self.com/ Click on "Foods by Nutrient" then there are several ways you can search. I came up with the following reference for myself (most are 'raw' measurements). Having a digital food scale to weigh by grams would be very helpful for things not easily measured in a "cup":

Asparagus (1c, 134g) 5 carb - 3 fiber = 2 net carbs (3g sugars)
Broccoli (1c, 91g) 6 carb - 2 fiber = 4 net carbs (2g sugars)
Brussel Sprouts (1c, 88g) 8 carb - 3 fiber = 5 net carbs (2g sugars)
Cauliflower (1c, 130g) 6 carb - 2 fiber = 4 net carbs (2g sugars)
Cabbage, green (1c, 89g) 5 carb - 2 fiber = 3 net carbs (3g sugars)
Celery (1c, 100g) 3 carb - 2 fiber = 1 net carb (2g sugars)
Cucumber w/peel (1c, 133g) 3 carb - 1 fiber = 2 net carbs (1g sugars)
Green beans, cooked (1c, 125g) 10 carb - 4 fiber = 6 net carbs (2g sugars)
Kale, fresh (100g) 10 carb - 2 fiber = 8 net carbs (0 sugars)
Mushroom, portabella (100 g) 5 carb - 2 fiber = 3 net carbs (2g sugars)
Mushroom, white (1c, 70g) 2 carb - 1 fiber = 1 net carb (1g sugars)
Onion, raw (1c, 160g) 15 carb - 3 fiber = 12 net carbs (7g sugars)
Red bell pepper (1c, 149g) 9 carb - 3 fiber = 6 net carbs (6g sugars)
Rhubarb (1c, 122g) 6 carb - 2 fiber = 4 net carbs (1g sugars)
Rutabagas (1c, 140g) 11 carb - 4 fiber = 7 net carbs (8g sugars)
Sauerkraut (1c, 142g) 7 carb - 4 fiber = 3 net carbs (3g sugars)
Snowpeas (1c chopped, 100g) 7 carb - 3 fiber = 4 net carbs (4g sugars)
Summer Squash (yellow/zucchini) (1c, 110g) 4 carb - 1 fiber = 3 net carbs (2g sugars)
Turnips (1c, 140g) 8 carb - 2 fiber = 6 net carbs (5g sugars)
V8 juice (note 1/2c, 120g) 5 carb - 1 fiber = 4 net carbs (4g sugars)

Great info! Thanks for sharing this all in one place. I was also thinking about replacing the restricted item with a non-restricted this week.

LOVE IT!!! Good job! One of the things that has kept me motivated is getting into a sz 16 pair of jeans that was hanging in my closet. I'm wearing them today, started at a sz 22.

Helllllo fellow IP'rs. It is raining here in Omaha NE - but we are so grateful for the rain, you can't imagine. We have been experiencing quite the drought this year it is unreal. The boys are out playing in the rain like little Indians. Pretty funny actually - I remember when we would do that as kids.

Anyway, my scale says I had a wooshhhhh - but I won't believe it until I weigh in for my officially WI next Friday.

DH and I went out last night. Yes, I was naughty. I had a glass of wine (I poured it in my glass of water to make so I wouldn't be as bad - what a horrible thing to do to such an innocent glass of wine) BUT guess what I woke up with a headache from H#LL. Guess I don't have the tolerance for alcohol like I use to. Lesson learned, I can wait till I get to goal for the next glass!

Hope everyone has an awesome weekend!

Ouch! I guess your body punished you! I am really looking forward to a glass of wine, but I know it's going to kick my ***, and that part I'm not looking forward to! I am going to be on Phase 2 when I do have my first drink in forever. Planning on it when I go to Dallas next month.

Speaking of Dallas, hopefully I can find some okra there because there sure as heck isn't any here in Denver. I might have to go to Parker as one of our Colorado IPers says it's there, but that is more than 30 minutes away! I'm going to try some Asian grocery stores when I come across them. Crazy.

Ran/walked and did abs. Then I had a Crispy Cereal Waffle. My favorite. I'm so thrilled with where I'm at. My whole life would be perfect if I could just find some okra.

NSV today. I just had another link taken out of my watch. That's three total.
