Hey Lisa, sorry about your Auntie. my favorite quote when my dad passed was "nothing ever loved is lost and he was loved so much"

Reference the IP boot camp...I think originally boot camp was taking away all restricted and meat and only packets.

Some people do this...personally my boot camp is no restricted, I keep the meat in.

Thought I'd check in, been away for a few days. Went to a conference and saw an old employee who seriously asked my name when I yelled at her and said "Colleen! It's so good to see you!" She said "I'm sorry I don't know who you are" so I looked at her strangely, cocked my head to the side and said "seriously?" she said "seriously, I don't know your name, I’m so sorry!" so I said "ummm...I hired you Colleen!" She almost lost her footing…lol!

So then I went to my old employer's place to say hi, which I do every two years as this conference is in the city I used to work…(other years it’s in a different city). I knew I was going to feel weird and thought “ok, be ready…cause here it comes and you’ve worked hard for this” but what resulted made me feel STRANGE and weird!

None of the guys knew me (used to work with 300 trades guys)...I expected SOME of that, but not totally unrecognized...it was SO strange...so VERY strange. They all had to look more then 4 times sometimes. I would say hi and they would look at me strange...and then keep walking only to come back 5 minutes later and sheepishly look at me and laugh. One guy didn't know what to say so he said "hey! You have new glasses!" LOL

Oddest experience in my life I have to say!

Got my swimming suit, pretty stoked about that, size 12 WOOT WOOT. Even asked the VIP if we could go swimming this weekend! Doubt we’ll go as the Star Wars 3D movie is out and we’ll have to go to that instead...yup…he’s a geek and he’s ALL MINE! :D

Fun stuff to discuss!
On a happier note...WI#3 tomorrow!

I've been waiting for someone to post on this problem. If you take 2 mag. and 2 C it should help get things moving unless you let it go to long, the only thing I have found is an actual laxative.

Had a death in the family so I will be going to Lafayette for the weekend then taking my mom and other aunt (her sister) to New Orleans for my Aunt's funeral. She is the one a few of you know about that had the brain cancer, she passed away yesterday. I have to go get an outfit, cuz I have NOTHING to wear. When I called mom this morning she said don't go shopping, we can go shopping in my closet first, then if we can't find anything we can go shopping. It was time for me to make a trip home anyways I haven't been home since Christmas!....I'll come back on Tuesday, OH WAIT!!.....my Birthday is thursday....hmmm....maybe I'll stay....haha....nope gotta come back cuz my WI is on Wed!....hope everyone has a wonderful day!

So sorry to hear about your aunt, Lisa. Safe travels.

Ishbel! Yay about the size 12 swimsuit. You are an inspiration. Your stories about not being recognized are great. I saw a guy yesterday that had lost a large amount of weight. Wow. I wouldn't have known him either. He looked at least 10 years younger and wow. . . .

I have never heard of such a thing of being OP for 9 months!!!.......list what you eat in a day, i'll see what I can suggest. That is just crazy talk, I'm sorry this is of course my opinion only. Why would you take away your REAL food?....I am not a coach by no means so maybe I am missing something. But anyways List a day's menu

Good morning!

I never eat restricted items...I think the issue is that I am not eating enough? I reviewed my menus on the weeks that I have had significant loss::

On the weeks that I eat lean red meat (filet Omaha Steak) at LEAST 5 nights, I have lost between 3.5 and 5lbs consistently. The last 3 weeks I have limited red meat and eaten fish/lean pork chop/organic chicken. Then my stall has happened.

Daily menu is almost identical EXCEPT for the protein at dinner:

AM:
33 oz water before breakfast
Mango RTD bottle
Coffee- black

Lunch:
Chocolate RTD or Mango RTD
Medium Salad/2 c cucumber/celery

Dinner:
Protein: 8oz fish/shrimp/steak (other than steak my weight loss slows or stalls)
2c sometimes 3c steamed spinach

SNACK:
Chocolate RTD or Raspberry Jello

Water all day...included...:?:

Three thoughts, 1) why are you not eating the restricted? I don't have any official studies, but antidotically on the board it seems whenever people add the restricteds their weight loss either stays the same or even improves, I have one every day and REALLY look forward to my lunch time restricted.

2) Are you just having the two packets? Even if you're not having a restricted you should be having at least 3 packets (B/L/Snack).

3) What about your oil? Since this diet is so low fat we REALLY need that extra couple of tsp of oil. I know a couple members realized they had almost cut it out and when they added it back in their weight loss went up.

Hope this helps!!

Thanks...OOPS! FORGOT, Yes, I have a snack EVERY evening.. I try to make sure I eat every 4 hours. Never had restricted as I really enjoy the RTD bottle of Mango and RTD Chocolate/Vanilla.

For my SNACK each night a either have a Chocolate RTD or Jello packet.

I always have 2 tsps olive oil, 1 tsp apple cider vinegar and sea salt as my salad dressing....

I am pretty basic with my IDP choices....

TGIF everyone,

Lisa - Sorry for your loss, have a safe trip.

Ishbel - You rock girl! I tried on swimsuit just for the heck of it last night and i was shocked at how gross my legs look. The loose skin doesn't look so bad when i stand straight but i was looking sideways and put my leg up (90 degree angle) and loose skin was hanging and it was disgusting. So long board short for me, lol.

so not going to make it to my 100lbs tomorrow, the scale is just not moving this week and although i'm not really dealing with the big C at this moment, i've been feeling super bloated for days with my stomach hurting a big. Its not PMS or TOM week so hopefully that will pass soon.

My older son's bday today, can't believe i have a 15yo! Sunday we're having my step-daughter bday party so wow...baking 2 cakes within days of each others, lol. I made my son's last night and it smells sooo good!

Hope you all have a great day!

I posted this in a few other places also because not everyone goes to the same threads every day. I would appreciate it if anyone that takes alternative vitamins would post the what kind, the brand and where they get it. I think Wuv said a few days ago that Walmart Natures Valley has a decent Cal Mag. I have been searching and everything I have found has either way more or not enough of compared to mine. I have found others that are comparable but they are actually much more expensive :( I use alternative for the packets but still use IP supplements.
THANKS EVERYONE :)

Hey NavyMommy, thought I'd chime in here although you weren't really talking to me.

I've always been allowed to have restricted...I chose not too not because I think it will change my WI's every week...but because I feel better. Specifically "down there" I've had issues down there LONG before IP. I find if I have restricted everyday I get really REALLY backed up. When I have restricted everyday, I most definately slow down and it's a direct result of THAT lol.

Just my two cents...just find I feel better physically. Something I learned for me, kinda like I can't eat red meat anymore, or if I do it should be within the 3 days AFTER weigh in to make sure it has time to 'get out'.

Busymom - ok...so I hope you're not planning on striking a 90 degree pose and holding it there when you're swimming. You might sink...course you could get yourself a barrel and a pirates hat and drink some Captain Morgan! (when youre done of course) :D

It could be that you aren't getting enough fat or calories. Last week my scale didn't move for over a week, although I don't think I could call that a stall yet, and my daughter was stalled for at least three weeks. Both of us added an extra hard boiled egg or two in per day as per our coaches suggestion, and now our scale is moving again for both of us. It could just be a fluke, who knows. Either way just adding that extra bit of calories and protein a day feels good. Also for me my coach doesn't want me to go longer than 3 1/2 hours without eating protein otherwise I tend to loose more muscle than fat. Hard boiled eggs help fill in those hours and I don't need to add an extra IP packet. Eggs are a lot cheaper than the packets, lol.

happy birthday to your son and your step daughter. You're a good mom to bake two cakes that you can't even enjoy (or lick your fingers). I'm sure you will make it to 100 pounds for sure next week. I'm trying to get to onederland, and of course my scale decided not to move for a week and a half. I know it's frustrating when you are so close.

Busymomx4 02-10-2012 10:02 AM

Ishbel - OMG you can't do that to me...i'm at work laughing my a** off and trying not to be too loud as people are looking at me... nope not planning on stricking a pose but still....that was shockingly disturbing to see.

I am going to second what Dana said about adding more protein. My coach was a little concerned about why my last 2 WIs were -.8# & -1# when I still have quite a bit to lose. She asked if I ate restricteds (yes), did I have C (no), drinking all my water (yes and then some).

I told her I wasn't bothered by a few slow weeks - was happy to just shop in my closet for smaller clothes and wait for my body to do its thing. I told her I did order different foods for the week in case my body was getting used to my normal routine, but I wasn't panicked. She still suggested I either stop restricteds (I am hungrier if I don't eat them so no, ty) or eat a lunch similar to dinner - just not every day.

I decided to add some protein - so that day for lunch I ate a 5 oz can of tuna with a bit of WF ranch in romaine leaves plus a salad. I was stuffed so I did skip my restricted that day. I ate dinner as usual and went back to my normal routine for the past 2 days. Unofficially, by my scale, I am down 3.8 pounds since my Wednesday morning WI. Now my body could have been ready to let go again or the more protein/1 less restricted might have jolted my system enough or it could have been the phases of the moon, who knows, but I seem to be moving down again. HTH
