I accepted it. As for searching for the meals, when I set them up, I shared them with everyone. If you type "ideal protein phase 3" in the search bar, then select "meals" under the "search for" options, see if that works.

Hi ItsAboutTime

I don’t know if this will help because I shop every day, sometimes twice, to get the best fruit and vegetables I can. Also, I have the leisure to do this AND I’m awfully new to Phase 3. But this is approximately what I’m thinking for one week.

BREAKFAST PROTEIN: Eggs, (extremely lean) bacon, low fat cheddar, no fat cream cheese, peanut butter, smoked trout (low salt), smoked salmon, some chicken from below.

FRUIT: avocado + tomato (2 servings), galia melon (2), frozen blueberries, apple, orange.

VEGETABLES: 1 cauliflower, 2 thick stalks broccoli, 7 servings endive while I can still get it, zucchini, spinach, 2+ servings, small amount red onion, a few brown mushrooms.

FISH: 2 catfish fillets, 2-3 tunafish, 1 salmon.

MEAT: 1 K 95 per cent fat free ground beef (one burger; 3 zucchini meat loaf servings, 2 lean pork loin chops, one serving, 1 chicken to roast.

One loaf bread, 1 serving of oatmeal.

I survived the Thanksgiving lunch. The smell of fried turkeys being carved sent my sensories into a ravenous rage. I left the office and ran a quick errand just to save myself! I came back, got in line while holding my container of fresh cucumbers, and served myself some turkey breast, roast and lettuce. I watched everyone else gorge themselves with overflowing plates while I enjoy my simple nutritious meal. And I am happy to say that NO ONE commented on my meal! Total respect..... I was so proud of myself that I took over and cleaned up the dessert table. There had to of been at least 20 differrent items. Yes, I got some on my hands/fingers...but it never touch my mouth.

After all this time on IP, even though the urge and temptation was there, I did not cave. First really BIG food event that I have allowed myself to take part in.......I got this! :D

I had ANOTHER wake up moment yesterday wth my physical therapist. This one will be actually working with me till the end of the year while the guy I saw on Friday was just an inital evaluation. She and I were talking about my muscles and body structure. I got a looking directly in the eye comment of "You look fantastic. Everything (muscle structure) is there, just need to get it all back to where it belongs." But the best news is....she doesn't think my knee is too bad and wants me to continue ALL current exercise while undergoing PT. I've got numerous muscular issues that we will be working on. Bottom line....after a 50 lb weight loss, my body is desperately trying to right itself. I told her AGGRESSIVE is my middle name...let's get after it!

Thanksgiving lunch at the office today. Fried turkey and goodness knows what else. I brought my own veggies!

that is great news... and way to go at your work food event... It always makes me laugh after how full everyone is that they can hardly move.... and to just think I was there a short time ago... know better now.

ItsAboutTime 11-22-2011 06:01 PM

Ugh! Horrible day. I went back to phase 1 yesterday but I snacked on a handful of nuts yesterday and then I did it again today! I didn't weigh this morning because I've been having some issues with the nasty C and I had to go get more of the stuff I take for it so I hope it gets things moving. Hope everyone else is doing better than I am. :(

sandyh50 11-22-2011 07:27 PM

Woohoo CAt on surviving your food ordeal!

Lynsey, don't give in to the food You can do this, remember how great you are feeling and how awful you felt 50 pounds ago. I had to go buy some more Miralax too for my big C.

Bellamack 11-22-2011 07:59 PM

Lynsey & Sandy,

You are both doing FAB u lous! Lynsey a few nuts is protein, so don't get derailed because of that. Hope you are feeling better soon, I am glad to be rid of that problem :{..... Have a great Holiday!

gettinmygrooveback 11-23-2011 08:40 AM

I am ready for my Phase 3 beginning Friday. I had the chance to stop by one of my favorite stores last night, bad weather and all, and bought the most beautiful Rio Red grapefruit from south Texas. My mouth is watering...I can't wait for it as well as my toasted WW bread.

I also have a date Sat with the most incredible man. I haven't seen him since the beginning of August.....our lives forced us to take a break from seeing each other. Right now, I feel like I have twinkle toes. Lord only knows how excited I'll be come Sat. :carrot::carrot:

Happy Thanksgiving to my US friends. I am so looking forward to 4.5 days away from the computer....and that means from here as well. I'm taking a much needed break from my daily life. Wishing everyone the best.

Off Phase 1

Good Morning!
The name "experienced thread" intimidates me-lol but I am jumping on! I am on my 2nd and last week of Phase 2 and will meet with the clinic director to move to Phase 3 next Tuesday! I know I will get a lot of awesome ideas and motivation from those of you that have already moved through those phases or are currently "on the move".
Yesterday was my first Phase 2 weigh-in and I lost 2.4 pounds!

Thanks! You are too sweet. I was trying to tell myself that about the nuts but then I'd just keep eating them so I'm going with, a cheat is a cheat.

Don't let it scare you. It's just a word. We are by no means more experienced than others and have many questions and concerns ourselves. It's just a stopping point between newbie and maintainer. Welcome and great loss!

I really liked the phase 3 and will probably eat this during maintenance as well. The yogurt and fruit is the best... I never had greek yogurt until phase 3 and I love it because you can make up what you want to eat in it.

tonight I am having stew, I put it in the slow cooker this morning before work and want to stop and get some peas to add to it. May make dumplings for my roommate and not have them until lunch for me... also cant wait to make so mexican food... also am going to make edamame or edamole (replace glucamole...) so adding that to my list to buy.

Phase 3 is nothing to be scared of ENJOY it! It is what we are all working towards, it just helps you understand how to better eat is all..

gettinmygrooveback 11-23-2011 11:31 AM

Just a heads up....I posted my coach's email from this morning over on the Daily Thread. Puts our holiday eating choices into perspective.......

Cat,

You will have so much fun on Phase 3. I agree with some others that I can see this being part of my maint, going forward. It is such a full satisfied feeling after breakfast.

Have fun on your date!

I am starting phase 2 tomorrow, which is great. We are going to my mother-in-law's house for lunch and then to my parents for dinner. I get to eat turkey twice, lol! This will be Thanksgiving #2 and #3 for me this week. It was really nice for #1 that I ate my food, was full, but didn't feel like I needed to sleep off my meal from having an overload of carbs. Everyone else was miserable, felt too full, lethargic. Not me! So, after dinner tomorrow night, my friend and I are hitting the stores for the start of Black Friday. Just shoot me now! Can't believe I agreed to that madness. Oh well, wish me luck!

I am looking forward to the change. I went to the grocery store today to finish "stocking up" on my breakfast items. I want a little diversity and plan on rotating my menus so I bought several different things. I was overcome with the strangest sensations....buying bread, butter, cheese and peanut butter. I was a very good girl prepared with my list but still compared labels. I am good to go....I can taste my grapefruit right now. Soon, very soon! Not sure if I'm more excited about breakfast or seeing Scott! :D

For tomorrow's family dinner I am preparing roasted asparagus and mock potatoes with green onions. Add my turkey and maybe a little salad and then I'm set.

sandyh50 11-23-2011 08:46 PM

I have been picking up a few things for phase 3 too. Bought some turkey bacon and stuck it in the freezer, bought some peanut butter, still bought lots of zuchinni, bell peppers, asparagus, my standard romaine lettuce and more Walden Farms products. These are just part of my future too.

ItsAboutTime 11-24-2011 07:56 AM

Happy Thanksgiving friends! Hubby and I up just as early as always so we got things going. He made 20 cinnamon rolls and is mad I won't have one. :) I am sipping my coffee and enjoying the peace and quiet before the kids come down and his family is all here.

I was down 0.6 this morning at 153.8. I saw 153.2 last weekend so I am bummed but happy with any loss at this point I guess. I was also down another 1/2 inch in my bust. (The last place I want it to come from. ;))

I didn't get my lemon water like usual last night and I was shopping til 8:30 so I threw a couple eggs in a pan when I got home and skipped veggies since I was just tired and wanting to sit.

Come on big number next week. Even if it just starts with a 1!

leganegan 11-24-2011 08:26 AM

Happy Thanksgiving!

4 pounds, just 4 pounds, please be gone you meezely 4 pounds. They are going to be gone in the next week or I am changing my goal to 154!!! LOL

Lynsey, it will go down if you are patient. I am just so tired of paying big money when I could have saved this money for Christmas and travel expenses. I am mad at myself for slowing down the weight loss, but it is what it is.

Happy Thanksgiving to the US friends.

I used to use a ton of walden farms products- literally bought the Asian dressing a chipolte ranch by the six pack regularly. Anymore, I do not like the taste of any of them. Think I over did it.

Don't be silly- look at the Christmas present you have given yourself! You have done really great. If you had not done the plan, you would be 50 pounds or more heavier and you cannot put a price on how great 50 pounds LESS feels! Way to go! You have done awesome!and 154 is probably a great weight for you if you feel good.

sandyh50 11-25-2011 08:41 AM

Good Friday morning everyone! We went out of town for Thanksgiving and got back late last night. Drum roll:::: I was absolutely perfectly OP all day and night and saw 152 on the scale this morning. I could have eaten a cashew cookie but just said it's not worth it , I am too close to goal to quit now. I felt really good in my size 9 red corduroy jeans with a cute top and got lots of compliments. My sis in law made sure there was a lot of everything I needed to stay OP. It was a good day.

gettinmygrooveback 11-25-2011 09:24 AM

Good morning all and what a happy day! I said I wouldn't be on the computer but I just had to log on and share my bliss. I don't think, in all my years of eating grapefruit, that I have ever tasted one better than what I had this morning. Every bite was a mummmm. Looking forward to the other half tomorrow morning.

Life is good!

sandyh50 11-25-2011 09:39 AM

Sounds delish, CAT, maybe I'll be eating one next week.

Way to go Sandy you can do this... see now just 2 more... Compliments are great and having family that understands what you can and can't eat is so helpful.

Good morning everyone, I had a great night last night, got home took my 2 dogs and my friend's 2 dogs and off we went to the offleash for a quick walk before supper... those little dogs are a lot of work, I really like how maintenance free my dogs are... one (a ****z tzui) doesn't listen to me and when I call her runs the other way..Have learned to leash her before she gets out of the car. and her other one tends to run across the busy road if not leashed... glad I have mine, they listen really well. Then ran home and prepared roasted veg and steak for supper, my friend arrived just as the steak was getting done, gave her instructions to cook the veg a little longer and out the door with my 2 girls for agility... My red dog and I are taking classes and I made her run as she hasn't been getting a lot of exercise with the little dogs being at my place... so while she ran so did I it is great to run even just short distances, and I took a jump and what does she do? goes around the one I jumped... made my instructor laugh anyway. am trying to get my girl to run faster so we can qualify she needs one more qualifying run to get her Masters title so I am a little excited about that...

Tomorrow is my fun day. Haven't really decided what I am going to do, but going to have my meal at lunch for the treat... maybe poboy catfish and sweetpotato fries.. then baskin robins peanut butter and chocolate ice cream for dessert... but we will see if I change my mind... tonight it will be enchilladas the IP way.

Have a great weekend everyone... and those of you that are shopping good luck.

sandyh50 11-25-2011 11:33 AM

Joanne, is this the recipe you use for your enchiladas? I found it on the recipes#2 sticky. I think I could use my turkey leftovers instead of chicken.

Enchiladas
Ok, so not "real" enchiladas....but a pretty good use of similar ingredients.

EVOO
Chix breasts sliced into strips
clove of garlic
sea salt
taco seasoning (make own)
g. pepper
asparagus
eggplant (speared)- I might leave these out next time....
g. onions
mushrooms
green chili sauce (I found some with only 1 carb)
romaine leaves

saute chix until no longer pink, add seasonings then add veggies. at end, add just enough green chili sauce to add a little flavor. let cool slightly before loading up the leaves...they roll nicely! it was awfully yummy!

That one does look good, I was just going to make it up as I go...

I have corn tortillas to use up. so I soak them in a picante sauce. Brown meat (chicken, turkey beef) add my own seasonings to make a taco spice. (paparika, chili powder, salt pepper etc) put a little water in and simmer away. meantime cut up tomatoes, peppers, onions etc. add to meat and then put enchilada on a plate put a little meat combo on it roll it up and put in a baking dish, continue with this until meat is gone or tortillas are. Pour the picante sauce over top and if you are allowed cheese sprinkle a little over top and bake for about 30 min at 350. That gives me time to get the animals fed and not standing at my feet looking up at me with those feeed me eyes.

also I got a recipe off of all recipes for Edamole (edamame guacamole) that I will put on top when out of the oven with homemade salsa.

2RIDEROLLERCOAST 11-25-2011 04:41 PM

yes anything to make up the 2 cups... which isn't too hard. I also add the canned chipotle peppers sometimes, if you like it spicy... won't this time as I have been spicing my friend out so I will make a mild version tonight... Looking forward to trying the edamole to see how it tastes.

sandyh50 11-25-2011 07:38 PM

I enjoyed my enchiladas tonight. I was careful adding the chili powder, it was alittle spicy but not bad. I tried to roll it up in my romaine leaves but it was so messy that I just made it into a salad! I used yellow pepper, asparagus, and broccoli for my veggies.

sandyh50 11-26-2011 07:44 AM

I shared this icecream recipe that I got from Jordana's Little Buddies IP facebook page. I made mine with IP cappuccino and WF caramel dip on top. It was excellent!
recipe by Kathryn:
I’m excited enough for everyone because I found a way to make a BIG unrestricted bowl of ice cream! As long as you don’t mind a little arm workout to make it lol – which I don’t!

I don’t know if you guys have ever heard of making homemade ice cream in a bag – but I just heard about it. It’s wild! I’ll bet the real version of it is awesome (made with cream or half and half), but I adapted it to make it with an IP drink packet. Check out real version here if you like - there are pictures: http://bit.ly/lxiP2H

Ingredients:

1 IP drink packet (I used the chocolate drink packet for chocolate ice cream)

½ TSP of vanilla extract

1 packet of sweetener (I use splenda or stevia)

1 cup of water

½ cup of course salt

Ice

Directions:

Put 1 cup of water into IP shaker – add in vanilla and sweetener – then the IP drink packet and shake until well blended. Pour mixture into small sandwich plastic bag. SEAL TIGHT.

Take a gallon sized plastic bag and fill up half way with ice cubes. Pour ½ cup of salt into the bag. Place the sealed sandwich bag with the drink mixture inside the ice cube bag. MAKE SURE BOTH BAGS ARE SEALED TIGHT.

Now here come the little arm workout! Shake, shake, shake for 8 minutes. I usually stop at around 5 minutes and check to see the progress. At about 5 minutes the mixture should be partially frozen – kind of looking like a slushy. I use pot holders while I’m shaking the bag because it’s cold to hold onto!

At 8 minutes you are going to have a hard bag of ‘ice cream’! Take out of the salty ice bag and very quickly rinse the bag off under cold water. One time when I made this – some of the salt rubbed off the bag and got into my bowl – and I took a bite and was like WHOA salty ice cream. So just rinse off the bag quickly to avoid that. :)

Top with WF chocolate syrup or WF caramel syrup and enjoy!

It's okay Sandy. Jump back on track with extra water and a nice walk. You will be fine! I know with the holiday weekend and week off, I have eaten more protein, restricted veggies and packets than normal. And it's Tom's turn to visit... Let's make this week a clean week! Lots of fish, chicken, eggs, and spinach and salad!

Oh boy - I am starting Phase 3 tomorrow. I talked to my coach and we both think it's time for me to phase off and maintain my weight loss for a few months.

I went grocery shopping and bough low fat greek yogurt, berries, unsweetened museli and ezekial bread (sp??) that I will put almond butter on. It is so weird to think about eating all that for breakfast after NO grains and fruit since July 14. I am really worried that I'll gain back what I've lost.

I read through the "Life after Phase 1" sticky and know that the plan works, but just feel really conflicted about eating grains and fruit again.

Wish me luck!
