There aren't any extra carbs for dairy. If you have it you have to subtract the dairy carbs from the 50 allowed for grains and fruit.

After my test tonight I am going to do the spreadsheet thing so I'm sure not to go over but I would like to know what I need to watch most closely. (I know, I'm way over thinking this but I want to do it right!) I'm assumming I need to keep an eye on the carbs first. I was kinda experimenting and my fat may go over a little some days. I don't have the fruit picked out yet so I was just plugging in different ones. Do we always have to have a fruit? I am really upset I couldn't find what was on my list because that would've been so much easier. Or even if I could've gone to the store I normally do because they have much more of a health food section but it's out of town and having everyone with and having somewhere to be really hindered my shopping like I said earlier. So, I will make the best of what I have. Thanks!

I'd watch the fat. Just 1 egg, for instance, and 1 T of peanut butter equals 13.42 grams of fat. Not to mention what you get from bread, cereal, dairy or another protein. Staying under 15 is VERY hard. And the following is my own interpretation, but I don't think you have to get all 50 grams of carbs in at breakfast. About protein -- over 25 is good. Hope this helps and I sure wish you the very best of luck. I hope you're one of those who loses weight in Phases 3 and 4.

ItsAboutTime 12-05-2011 08:52 PM

I put together 6 meals with what I have to work with and came perfect or under everything except protein (which I consider great) but I have one dilemma, I am low in calories. Is that ok? I go anywhere from 350-414 but most are around 390. I will go over the other things if I add anything. I only plugged in bananas and oranges but if I find plums or something I will do some figuring Wed night after I go fruit shopping. Thanks for listening to my never ending confusion. ;)

sandyh50 12-06-2011 08:53 AM

I don't know about going under the calories, maybe ask your coach. I am doing great on my phase 3 , loving the breakfast. I am reading all I can about phase 4, trying to get read.

ItsAboutTime 12-06-2011 09:05 AM

I don't have a coach. I've been doing this all on my own with alternatives the whole time. My friend pretty much quit going to her coach because she hasn't been staying on plan and "the weigh ins only get her down". She used to ask questions for me. I will see if anyone in maintenance knows. Thanks anyway!

How's the phase 4 planning going. That scares me half to death.

Hello All!

How is everyone doing!? This month is insanely busy isn't it? Or is it just me?
I am slowly, slowly getting over the congestion... now I think I got the BF sicky. poor guy.

I am already thinking about recipes I can't wait to make for Christmas Eve since I will be in maintenance, I guess the fat girl still lives inside of me. I am nervous phasing off during the most tempting time of the year... but I will just phase 1/2 it every meal I possibly can between the start of maintenance and new years. I picked out a scale I want for christmas. So I can stay accountable.

So tomorrow will be my first weigh in on Phase 3, I am nervous. I feel like I am eating so much more at breakfast that I will gain 5lbs! Did anyone feel like that and then get a pleasant surprise at weigh in. I am going to force myself to jog/walk today, tomorrow and thursday. My clothes feel fine, but I don't know if it's in my head or if my tummy feels bigger than per Phase 3.

stolaf 12-06-2011 01:33 PM

I los 2lbs in my Ph 3 WI. U will be surprised. I am more full on ph3 ans more satisfied too.
Sorry for the typos...I am on my cell phone...

I gave my cold to my husband and my oldest daughter. I am still holding on to it a little myself but nothing like last week.

I think I will do the same and do phase 1 on the in between parties days and still no over do it at the parties but not be so hard on myself either. Good luck tomorrow. I hope to be one who loses on 3. Who doesn't? ;)

Hi all. I finally made the decision to phase off until early January. I am officially burnt out and just need a break. January starts my busiest time for work and often I'm too busy to eat, so it's the perfect time to get back on Phase 1. Also, my friend who told me about IP is going back on Phase 1 to lose 10 more lbs, so I'll have a live buddy to get through the last push to take the rest of the weight off.

I'll be looking to you all for words of wisdom as I muddle through this.

I think this is smart. Especially this time of year, if you are burnt out you would probably go hog wild and gain too much back and feel miserable after holidays. By Phasing off properly and regrouping in January, you will have the tools to not go crazy the next few weeks but still enjoy yourself. It will probably make you eager and excited to jump back to Phase one when you busy work time starts. :)

Thanks. How long did you do all the phases? I'm thinking one week for each. Does that sound reasonable?

According to my sheets minimum of 1 week of Phase 2; 2 weeks on Phase 3. But since you don't have quite that much time I can suggest that you go light over the holidays -- not so much because you don't want to gain weight, well who would? but so you don't make yourself ill. Hope this helps

Thanks. This morning I am slightly panicked, because I had a zero loss this week, but then it dawned on me that I can go back to Phase 1 whenever I want, so I'm forging ahead.

My plan is to go light over the holidays, because I just feel so much better on this plan. My busy time starts on Jan. 8, so I'll start Phase 1 a few days before then to make sure I'm past the headaches and stuff.

Of course, I'm really not going to overdo it on much, so I don't anticipate a rough re-entry. Famous last words, right?

That is what I'm doing too. I wouldn't have if we didn't have this trip coming up but I think it all came with great timing. I too am wore out with it. I start phase 3 tomorrow! Make sure you do 3 for 2 weeks. I bet you could get away with only doing 2 for 1 though.

ItsAboutTime 12-07-2011 08:49 AM

I think this first week of phase 3 I may add 1/4 of a vanilla shake to some coffee so I at least get a little caffiene in the morning. That would add a few more calories and only a tiny amount of fat and a trace of a carb if that. I did plan a few of my breakfasts with 1/2 a shake already but the ones I didn't, I should be fine right?

Should be. In fact, it will be. ItsAbout, you will do fine. :) You're prepared; you know what to do.

Hi all! I lost 1 pound on my first week of phase 3. One more week to go and then on to maintenance. I lost .75 inches too. Lynsey, I always add a little bit of French Vanilla EAS protein drink to my coffee every day!!! Also a little WF caramel syrup and a packet of stevia!

Congrats on the 1 pound. I hope to lose in 3 too!

I've had a couple of off days this week so I will be happy with anything at this point. Well, I shouldn't say days, off moments. I am feeling crappy today so I'm sure TOM will be here real soon. I hope not until after weigh in though. As of this morning I was down 1.2 so that's awesome.

I use WF caramel in my coffee too. Yummy!

I did phase 2 for 2 weeks and now I am doing phase 3 for two weeks.
I would have done phase 2 a couple more weeks, but I have a lot of events from December 15th through new year, and I know myself, so I wanted to be sure to phase off. My body fat is at 23% hope it doesn't go up with this phase... I would love for it to be 21%, but for now i'll be happy...I am starting to increase my workouts this week, hoping it helps tighten up and keep my from gaining during holidays.

yesterday I jogged for over 30 minutes. it's amazing how great it felt to jog with 40+ lbs off my body. I felt like I could jog forever, especially in this Florida evening weather. just wish it didn't get dark so darn early. the treadmill will be coming from my parents house to my house asap I guess. ;)

maintenance on the 15th. :) (my 9 year dating anniversary with boyfriend)

You get a banana, cause YOU CAN HAVE IT and LOSE! HAHA. :)

Paint Lady 12-07-2011 01:07 PM

I am also starting phase 3 tomorrow. My breakfast will be: 1/2 banana, sandwich made of - 2 pieces of Nature's Own whole wheat bread, 1 egg + 2 egg whites, scrambled, 2 pieces of Oscar Mayer bacon, 1 slice of 2% Kraft cheese. Coffee with splenda and half and half. This equals 42 carbs, 30 protein, 452 calories, 14.5 fat.

I can't decide out of the 6 meals I put together which I want tomorrow. I'm super excited that I have options though. Good luck to you in phase 3!

This sounds excellent. I'll bet you can't wait. Congratulations.

Holy bloat Batman! I do not think I'll have a very good weigh in tomorrow. :( Still excited to just start phase 3 and move on for now.

sandyh50 12-07-2011 08:02 PM

Enjoy your phase 3 breakfast tomorrow everyone! One more week of phase 3 and I will be in maintenance!!! Woohoo! I am getting my head wrapped around maintenance. I know for sure it is not a free for all eat whatever you want phase. I handled maintenance for many years on WW and will just use my info from both places and be careful with not combining carbs and fats. I will also emphasize the protein way more this time.

Paint Lady 12-07-2011 08:27 PM

Good luck to all of you as well and thanks! I also plan to jump back on for a little while at some point after the first of the year. I don't think I am exactly where I want to be yet, but my skin kinda needs a break from this diet. Also, I finally broke down and read Dr. Tran's book and went to his website. I want to do the reset every year, so I will start with this one coming. I may just stay on it a little longer until I'm where I feel I need to be. I can't wait until morning, I get to eat cheese! Then, the next day I'm planning to have peanut butter and yogurt. I'm truly excited!!

leganegan 12-07-2011 10:17 PM

well I lost .2 on phase 3! I am actually glad. I have felt so puffy and full, and I am sure I had one or two more bites of cereal and peanut butter than allowed... I was worried I gained at least an lb. but didn't ...and my inches and body fat went down a tad. nice to see. it's nice to see 22.9% body fat! I am really wanting 21% not sure why, but numbers to shoot for help me stay motivated and on track i guess.

You have so rocked this plan girl! Or should I say crazy fiskmus lady!:)

Gika 12-08-2011 05:05 AM

Congrats to all of you who are phasing out!

leganegan- Sorry for the late reply. Yes, I do work out. During IP I worked out moderately, and I had planned on increasing the intensity during phase 3, but unfortunately life became too busy and I couldn't really make many modifications to my routine, but I did continue it.

Ok, for my second week of phase three (and final) weigh in, I lost 1.0 lb

I'm going on vacation tomorrow... which terrifies me in a sense (and I never thought that a vacation would make me feel that way!!). A lot of the food choices will be out of my control, but as far as possible I will make healthy choices. I come back home right before New Year's eve (so it's kind of a long-ish vacation), and sometime early January I plan on doing a "damage control" phase (only time will tell what that will entail) and after that hopefully maintain.

Good luck to all of you! I hope each and every one of you reaches your goals. I'll definitively be coming back in Jan.

Happy holidays!

Good job on the loss! Since I don't have a coach I don't know my body fat. It'd be nice to have that measured but I guess I don't know where I started.

ItsAboutTime 12-08-2011 08:22 AM

Good morning! I made it to phase 3! Doesn't it seem like we long for this moment? I ate some toast with a little bit of pb. I'm not a huge pb fan but it was sooooo good. Now I'm trying to get down my greek yogurt, which tastes fine actually. I wasn't a fan of that either. ;) I'm staring at the orange and stuff on my desk wondering how am I supposed to eat all this food? I'm already full!

I was down 1.6 this morning again. Funny how my weights go in patterns sometimes. I am also down 2.5 inches! I didn't lose any inches last week so I was happy about that. (Especially since I feel like bloat city.)

Can I do a walk/jog type thing tonight now that I'm adding more calories or will it defeat the purpose? I know I won't go long enough to burn all the calories I'm eating this morning. I just feel like running would be a great way to get me through Christmas. I have 2 finals left but I think I'm at a point where I have time to get some running in so I feel I need to take advantage. I am going to plan on it unless I hear otherwise.

I should have chosen my yogurt and pnut butter breakfast today instead of the bacon and egg sandwich. I really enjoyed eating it, but now I am queasy. :( For those of you about to start phase 3, just a heads up, bacon may not be for the first day. I should have worked up to that I think. It was only 2 pieces, but it's not sitting well. On the plus side, I was really full after eating and the 1/2 of banana that went with it was so good (in the past, I was no fan of bananas).

Linden 12-08-2011 12:16 PM

A couple of more days ago someone asked about fast, easy breakfasts and it got away before I could answer. When I was flying a lot in the early morning I used to have a couple of stand-bys that I really like. Meat loaf sandwich, crustless quiche and fritatas pack with cottage cheese, meat, or tuna and lots of leftover vegetables, and hardboiled eggs with bread and butter and all with fruit. Pretty easy to handle if you're in a small space or, um, driving. Hope this helps.

ItsAboutTime 12-08-2011 04:17 PM

I know I'm just starting phase 3 today but I've been looking into phase 4. It seems so complicated for some reason. Does anyone have an easy way to explain it so I can wrap my lil mind around it?
