Even if you do gain a little weight (as most expect to) it is just your muscles getting back their glycogen - you will still be slim & perhaps even lose inches during that time. I actually lost .5 of an inch on my hips after my vacation this past week (this is 3 months into maintenance, now).

You are doing wonderfully, enjoy your well-earned French toast!

I like to take my time in the morning so I like savoury, but I am up with my husband at 6:30 am and don't have to get started til much later for myself. I've never been a great morning person anyhow, Slipfree, although I am better at it now than when I was younger.

Thanks Liana. I guess I'm just having a phase-3-freak-out a few days late. I thought I had completely given over to IP and trusted the plan, but, alas, this weigh in churned up some latent disbelief on my part. I will relax and trust the plan. Actually, it's not trusting the plan that I find difficult; it's trusting my body. It's trusting that my body will behave in the way it is "supposed" to. After having Cushings for several years, it never seems out of the question to me that my body will do something seemingly inexplicable when it comes to weight loss. It's all a process and today I see I have more work to do in this area. Thanks again.

In maintenance I actually do not eat as much as P3 breakfast because I simply do not need it. I rarely have the grain unless I really worked out hard and feel I need it. Greek yogurt, some berries and some protein quite easily hold me until lunch.

True 'nuff, drd, sometimes I am not up to fussing if I've had a tough night sleepwise and then I end up just having a protein smoothie for breakfast with something a little more substantial for mid AM snack. It all works out in the end, though.

Sylviesgirl, I was up a few pounds the first week, but I am right back where I started the 2nd week. I freaked out too! Feel free to be honest, that is why I asked.

I was worried about craving the breakfast food at other times, but that has not happened. Maybe try a different breakfast with less bread? I am loving the fruit and yogurt combo. Sticks with me and keeps me full.

Thanks, Slipfree. I feel better knowing that you were up some, too, the first week. I feel even better knowing that it corrected itself for you.

I really do need to tear myself away from that breakfast, if for no other reason than to try other things . . . but I am freaking loving it! Maybe once I run out of my fat free ricotta . . . since I have been putting in my son's oatmeal, too, I only have a day or two's worth left. Then I think I will give something else a whirl. Gosh, I'm being a baby about this . . . Thanks.

Sylviesgirl, you make me laugh. This process is like a baby taking it's first steps.

Moving to Phase 4 on Sat.! IP graduation and long appointment to go over the next step.

Thanks Sylviesgirl . I was relieved. Now, I am looking forward to beginning maintenance on Sat. I was feeling as though I had not finished my goal because of that pound.

Breakfast will be the usual tomorrow. Yogurt, strawberries, blueberries, Ezekiel bread, almond butter and 1/2 cup of non sweetened almond milk.

How did you do today?

Did I mention that I really like it that you are a week ahead of me? Sort of like making your friend jump off the diving board first. Wheeee! Then you can tell me how the water is . . .

Seriously, though, congrats. I know how important it is to feel "finished" and you deserve that. Well done!

I've done fine today. Still had my strawberries & cream FT. I just love that -- I put it on a pretty plate and feel like a queen. LOL Stayed OP. Weighed this morning and was down 1 lb. from yesterday. Hope that holds, but we'll see. I'm not weighing tomorrow, just moving forward and not going to worry (overly) about it.

We are on quite the excellent adventure!

Glad that I can help I am a teacher, I have 3.5 days left of school and then I am going away on vacation for the last week in June. I know and have discussed with my coach that there will be wine! I am not going to go crazy but it will not be perfect maintenance protocol. I intend to have fun and eat like a thin person.

Congrats on making maintenance, Slipfree! How did your big meeting go? Or is it today?

Does the "500" above indicate your caloric target for breakfast today?

Here's what I had today:

1 Thomas Light Hearty English Muffin
2 tsp butter
1 carton Chobani plain 0% Greek yogurt
1/3 c. raspberries
2/3 c. strawberries
1/2 Johnsonville Cajun chicken sausage
4 oz. EAS Carb Control chocolate fudge shake (as coffee creamer)

= 433 cals, 50 carbs (36 net), 15 fat, 36 protein.

Nice, but liked my "queen's breakfast" better.

Hi Sylviesgirl,

Today was my meeting. I am officially a graduate and on maintenance. Changed my breakfast today because I wanted to get weighed before eating.

Had: 3/4 cup blueberries
1/4 cup bare naked granola
1 0% Greek yogurt.

The meeting went great. My clinic is very positive and all the support staff are very supportive. They were genuinely happy for me. Best thing! All of my categories are in the green!
