I had a friend that was doing this. She went 6 weeks no cheats straight IP protocol. Then she had some health issues that prevented her from staying on IP. When she could go back to plan it took her 4 attempts to make it past the third day. Now she's doing great and not having any problems staying on plan. The last time she attempted she had really decided to re-commit to the program. The previous attempts were only half hearted. So you really do have to be in the right frame of mind to make it to that magically 4th day ... you can do it!
This is also my fourth start. I am going to do it this time. I am committing to be cheat free through Thanksgiving and the rest of the holiday season.
I don't plan on cheating either. Smoked turkey breast, green beans, asparagus, some salad. I guess dessert will be Vanilla IP Pudding. I'm cooking for my husband and dtr the usual - cornbread dressing, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie. Just another day for us. No big plans this year.
For all you non Thanksgiving cheaters I know how you can get your pumpkin pie or egg nog fix. I had the vanilla boxed drink with pumpkin pie spice. It tasted like a cross between pumpkin pie and egg nog. mmmmm delicious.

I use the vanilla pudding with tea insead of water and pumpkin pie spice for breakfast almost every morning.
I think that DaVinci makes sugar free egg nog syrup too.
I am on week #6 of IP and I am down 19 lbs! No cheats yet and I am not going to let Thanksgiving or Christmas ruin that! Im just going to have turkey and trunips (my new favorite veggie!) I want to be at my goal by new years eve so I can indulge in a couple cocktails : )
Since the day I started this diet (9/13/10)...I haven't thought at all about cheating. Not even a bite or lick of anything. I plan to stick with that. I really want to weigh at least 30 pounds less than I do right now by the end of February and that will only happen if I don't cheat at all. I am not concerned about being tempted. It is just another day. I am spending that night at Foxwoods so I will not look at all the yummy cocktails being served.
I am flying to Vegas on Christmas Eve and home the 30th that will be a tough week...but our first stop will be a grocery store for celery, lettuce, and dressing fixings.
I want to start phase two regardless of my scale number on January 20th. So that I will be on Phase four when I leave for my cruise on February 20th.
Count me in! I did my first cheat 3 weeks ago since starting the diet on 9/11. I gained 3 pounds and it took me a week to take off the 3 pounds. Totally wasn't worth it! Just experiencing that will definitely keep me from cheating Thursday. I am on a mission now to be thin by my birthday in March :-) Good luck everyone!
Sooooooo.... I made mashed cauliflower for dinner tonight as a trial run. IT WAS GREAT! Even my tater-lovin' hubby thought they were good. I boiled 2 1/2 c. of frozen cauliflower till it was very tender, drained it and used my brand-new-purchased-for-this-very-purpose immersion blender to puree it. Worked like a charm. They seemed a little wet though, so on Thursday, after I puree them, I'm going to put them back on the stove for a couple of minutes to "dry them out". I'm also flirting with the idea of adding garlic... Mmmmm.... garlic. Add a little IP chicken soup/gravy, and we'll be set! Mashed potatoes? Who needs them! We've got mashed cauliflower!

Try not cooking it as much. That will help it stay thicker.
Also, I add to mine
Packet of chicken soup (it's like mixing the gravy in)
Garlic Powder
White pepper
Sea Salt
And if you don't mind going slightly off protocol, a tablespoon of butter makes it taste a lot richer.
I use a stick blender and mix it all in the pot I cooked it in. Easy clean up.
Mrs Diettrich - garlic is very good in the mashed cauliflower! Along with some pepper, paprika, EVOO and sea salt. It is deeelicious! And you can add just a smidge of milk (like what you'd put in your coffee). I find that helps a bit.
Good job everyone for not cheating! If I had Thanksgiving here right now I'd definately be down this track. I did have my birthday last Friday and did not cheat at all

I am going on NCL out of Miami to St. Thomas, Dominican Republic, Tortola, and Great Stirup Caye. We are going with about 10 family members. We go every February and have a blast....but we definately party alot so it will be bootcamp the day I come back.
Vegas is usually a party trip for hubby and I...it will be so weird to be there and not have a drink....but so worth it to get to my goal.
The last weekend in March I have a wine tour "Cruisin the Tropic" on the Seneca Lake Wine Trail in western NY so I will have to be good when I return from the cruise so I can enjoy that too.
