Default Last night and early today

Yesterday's thread as of 10:09 pm EDT

Good news ... while there were no new people posting in the daily chat, some actually came back to post.
  • Kelsey was the first one in after 10 pm. She has a new photo avatar and is looking more beautiful than ever.
  • calebs grandma is taking her new ticker out for a spin
  • deinekatze aka Elizabeth celebrated 3 months of marriage by working at Dragoncon -- guess what costumes she wore, even with TOM dragging her down a little?
  • Linden posted a question about using nutritional yeast as a seasoner and a link to a meringue cookie recipe
  • wyoangel is back from celebrating her birthday. She bravely made ice cream for her guests and didn't taste her product even once.
  • amylew gave her thoughts about kismet155's food diary
  • Gabby Lou is on vacation and slipped off program in the last two days and is looking for how to get back on track?
  • Kelsey and Linden comiserated on disliking gritty sandy mouth feel of different foods -- accidental or intentional!
  • wyoangel had a severe digestive reaction to something
  • showgirlaz provided advice on tomatoes, eating restricted items, her best guess about the grit in Realsalt, getting back on track after a cheat/slip and MSG as a source of wyoangel's problem
  • jency suggested that wyoangel's difficulties may have been caused by the eggs
  • JessicaCourez used the lure of Phase 3's big breakfast to keep herself from ordering a beer AT A BREWERY!!
  • Novak carried the banner for the Life After Phase 1 gang
  • and Coastalcrafter was up early, sneaked in a weighin and a post!

Wyoangel, I noticed on Sunday's chat you were sick after eating eggs. There is a recall on a lot of eggs because of salmonella. It has been traced back to a feed source here in Iowa but the eggs were transported to a lot different areas. They should have been removed from shelves but that doesn't been they got them all. Just a thought. May not have anything to do with you getting sick. Hope you are feeling better.

Good Morning, all!

On yesterday's thread, there was a question about the sea salt. The little brochure I got in my starter pack says that the colored specks come from trace minerals. Check this link: http://www.realsalt.com

Today's my first "social" event since starting IP. I'm only going to my sister's house - just my 2 sisters, my son, and my nephew will be there. Don't think I'll have a problem staying on plan. Besides - this is Day 1 of the Hallowe'en Challenge!

Good moring.....I saw reference to Dr. Tien's thoughts that we should limit our use of cauliflower and broccoli but could not find the Saturday discussion...can someone enlighten me? I've always heard these were really good for us and would be interested in finding why the limitation. Thanks.

I've been considering starting this diet however I've noticed that a lot of people on this diet have significant amounts to lose. I need to lose about 20 lbs and while that doesn't seem like much, I'm petite and dont want to wake up with a lot more to lose. Is this diet appropriate for someone with only 20 to lose.

Day 1 - here I go. Kids are back in college and it's pretty quiet here; a good day to think about all your posts, ideas and tips to get started. Tomorrow is the first day of school - yes, for 26 years I have been in the classroom teaching middle school. The plan is to get into better habits and summer, for me, always throws things off. I'll keep checking in - your support for one another will be the saving grace I need. Thank you in advance.

This diet is fine for you. You see the ones of us who have more to lose because the ones with only 20 lbs to lose don't hang around long...

Yeah, not sure whether it was the breakfast choice or the additives. I guess the only way to tell is to brave something similar again. Ugh. The thought makes me cringe. Part of me goes with food poisoning....because once I was done in the bathroom, I felt pretty good (shaky and weak aside). NO FUN! I was able to eat supper just fine and splurged with sugar free jello while they raved about the ice cream! Lol! Thanks for your support guys!

Well because you and I are obviously twins, both 5'4" and starting weight was exactly the same 221.75 lbs, I can't help but feel drawn to you!

LOL I just saw this! Thank you for the sweet words! I only took that picture to show my facebook friends that I was out of the house! However, I added it to my previous "Progress Photos" because the ones on there were from March (when I started) June (3 months later) and then now September (almost 3 months again, but I may update this one later this month so it will be when I've been on the diet for 6 months and have lost over 50 lbs ).

Yes, not to mention that we are both blonde's and probably blue-eyed to boot....now, one question, do we both have to go to 135 lbs? It seemed daunting enough to lose 60 lbs!
